Vampires, Mummies & The Holy Ghost

Vampires, mummies, and the holy ghost
By: jimmy buffett, roger guth, jim mayer, peter mayer
1994
--spoken:
Ohhhh rock n roll is a scary business. no hit records, no mtv
Videos...youll never make it here...scary. not! lets do it
Coral reefers...
Looked in my laptop, what did I see?
A flashin message says today therapy
Rather walk through fire than converse with my shrink
But Im getting better thats what some people think
Talk about denial and dysfunctional things
Heads like a bell somedays it dongs and it dings
My brain play tricks on me it likes to shift gears
Spend lots of money, but Im tacklin my fears
Chorus:
Vampires, mummies and the holy ghost
These are the things that terrify me the most
No aliens, psychopaths or mtv hosts
Scare me like vampires, mummies and the holy ghost
Ooohh
Had a dream last night took a time travellin ride
Back to my childhood where those monsters reside
They nack on innocence and dine on self-esteem
But I like to be in touch with what makes me scream
Chorus:
Vampires, mummies and the holy ghost
These are the things that terrify me the most
No aliens, psychopaths or mtv host
Scares me like vampires, mummies and the holy ghost
I was never ever frightened by the murderer on our block
He nurtured orchids and raised hamsters
The neighborhood is still in shock
La la la la, la la la la....
La la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la, la la la la....
La la la la, la la la la la la
So many dragons lurking out in the fog
So many crazy people mumblin monologues
Its not the tales of stephen king that Ive read
I need protection from the things in my head
Like...
Chorus:
Vampires, mummies and the holy ghost
These are the things that terrify me the most
No aliens, psychopath or mtv host
Scares me like vampires, mummies and the holy ghost
Chorus:
Vampires, mummies and the holy ghost
These are the things that terrify me the most

I Want You

The sucker s loose themselves
In the games they learn to play
Children love to sing but
Then their voices slowly fade away
People always take a step away
From what is true
Thats why I like you around
I want you
Oh you do you do...
You make me want you
An open invitation to the dance
Happenstance set the vibe that we are in
No apology because my urge is genuine
And the mystery of your rhythm is so feminine
Here I am and I want to take a hit
Of your sent cause it bit so deep into my soul
I want you
Yeah, you do you do...
You make me want you
Oh you do you do...
Send me all your vampires
I want you
And I cant get enough, oh I cant get enough
And I cant get enough
The village church yard is filled with
Bones weeping in the grave
The silver lining of clouds
Shines on people jesus couldnt save
You want to know how deeply my soul goes
Deeper than bones
Deeper than bones
And I cant get enough
Oh, I cant get enough
Oh, I cant get enough
Oh, I cant get enough
After we did it by the window sill
Smoke rings drift into the midnight sky
Presently in the quilt that your mother made
A candle burns to fight off the gloom
I said to live in this way is not for the meek
And like a jazz dj you talk me into sleep
I said therell be no regrets when the worms come
And they will surely come
You do you do...
Make me want you
Send me a ll your vampires
Yeah you do...
Make me want you
Send me all your vampires
I want you

A Vampires Kiss

A Vampires Kiss, so sweet and wordless,
A Vampires Kiss, should last forever,
A Vampires Kiss, together with your own,
A Vampires Kiss, so lovely and delicate,
A Vampires Kiss, that has last for centuries,
A Vampires Kiss, so cold but warm,
A Vampires Kiss, has lasted forever in my heart.

Rightful Owners.

Rightful owners.

I was the first born of the first born race.
The chosen ones that knew not sin or shame
before the spawn of Adam stole our place
They spread the evil but we got the blame.

When we fed on the juice of plants, not men
and lived as one in peace and brother hood
but Adams breed usurped our place and then
harassed we had to change to drinking blood.

We had to flee into the wilderness
adapt to hunting for our prey by night
We who had know nothing but gentleness,
my race resolved that we must fight.

Adapted and evolved now we must prey
on those who drove us from our rightful lands
and thus the vampire are seen to day
as evil creatures who men’s blood demand.

We are not evil merely strive to
live as men should do in brotherhood.
Each vampire shares what he has to give
with other vampires and know this is good.

Vampires do not other vampires kill
we have no wars of pride to glory gain
but foolish men do and always will.
They glory in inflicting hurt and pain.

It seems they have forgotten us.
We are dismissed as old wives tales
old stories from the crypts and charnel house.
How very sweet to us to hear their wails.

They will destroy themselves in course of time
as we vampires look on happily
The turning wheel of fate is sublime
poetic justice is an irony

So few of us vampires are left to note their passing,
though none of us will regret I
It Our nobility will not let us gloat
we will live to see the new era dawn yet.

The scattered remnants of our noble race
the bearers of the purest royal blood
will congregate together in one place

Four Main Types of Writers (personal opinion)

The Lonely Writer

Some writings tell me
This person is lonely
And is reaching out
For the touch of a friendly comment
These writers are sad, solitary,
Isolated, but good persons
And quite often very good writers

The needy juvenile writer

Some writings contain words
Or language meant to shock
And to offend.
These writers are lonely also
But in a different way.
These writers are simply saying
Like a little child
“hey! I exist! Someone better
Acknowledge me! ”
These writers can often write well
But usually don’t, can’t, or choose not to

The Spite Writer

This writer can be of either gender
But seems to be in a female majority
They’ve been spurned or rejected
Two-timed or lied to.
And they are going to vent their ire
In the most public way they can.
These writers can also be very good writers
But too often let their anger get in the way.

The Religious Writer

These writers show people passionate
And zealously devoted to singing the praises
Of the Lord and goodness and charity.
They’re probably austere, honest people
Who almost always write very well.
For the most part these writers seem
To want to spread the word and
At the same time tend to be rather singular
In the subject matter of their writings,
Rarely attempting other genres.

Vampires (they Drive Me Batty!)

Vampires, Vampires, Vampires

Put vampires in your writing
These days it’s all the rage
Little pointy fangs and biting
And sucking’s all the rage

It’s only fictional wordplay
Or so most people think
But it’s much, much more, I say
And I say that without a blink

Vampirism does exist, it’s true
But without it’s traditional cape
And is still terrifying, through and through
In it’s new and haunting shape

Take our state and federal government
With their dark and sinister way
And how they sink their teeth into,
our very hard earned pay

Most of your beloved electronic collection
From your Ipod to your TVs
Each night gives evil genuflection
Bleeding electricity, while on it’s knees

And then there’s the most insidious
Kind of Vampires that exist
And of which we are most oblivious
And are powerless to resist

Of them all, they’re the most horrendous
And oft times we’re too blind to see
That these bloodsucking, parasitic creatures
Are usually friends and family

What if it were true?

Hector, Ajax and Hercules
and other heroes such as these.
All suffered from the same disease.
They thought they were invincible.

Now every one of them is dead.
I know this from the books I’ve read.
Unlike my ancient Uncle Fred.
Who thought it might be possible.

To find a way to stay alive
a certain method to survive
Towards this end then he would strive
Although it seemed improbable.

A coward too afraid to die.
Although he was clever guy
well versed in ancient history.
He thought he could be comfortable.

If he could find a vampire who
he thought could be persuaded to
make him into a vampire too
and grant him immortality.

I half believed when I was small
My uncle often came to call
but always late after night fall.
Which made me feel uncomfortable.

But now I take a different view.
I don’t believe his tales were true
Nor do I think my siblings do.
I think it is impossible.

By bright sunlight I am certain
but after dark I think again.
What if my uncle Fred did gain
his wish for immortality.

I hoped that he was telling lies
and so it came as no surprise.
To find one single rule applies.
Vampires do not seek publicity.

Real vampires do not advertise
They consider it’s not wise.
Although my uncle really tries
his stories cannot convince me.

Accustomed To Critique And Darkness

Emotional vampires,
Accustomed to critique and darkness...
I can't afford to have feeding on my consciousness.
The extensive draining done they do,
I wont allow with me to pursue.
And they will do it too!

Emotional vampires,
Limited with negativity.
Upset with themselves.
And surrounded by insecurities.

Despise they do,
Those who choose not to self abuse.
And refuse to listen...
But expect others to.

They are happiest when sharing,
Their blightest insights.
And delight when someone argues,
Against thoughts they have...
Others feel for them aren't right.

And pained by youthful injustices to them done,
These emotional vampires...
Solicit to undo,
The peace of mind of someone.

Emotional vampires,
Accustomed to critique and darkness...
I can't afford to have feeding on my consciousness.
The extensive draining done they do,
I wont allow with me to pursue.
And they will do it too!
If given one's time.
And...
Empathy.

'I'm a Scorpio.
What are you? '

I'm a-Leaving!

The 'theme' is similar to my other poem,
Entitled: 'Emotional Vampires'

feeding upon

biting choice veins

worthy lives

seeking genuine

destroy victims

impaled upon

Most Writers

Most writers 'twould seem have moments of self doubt
But they never go short of things to write about
And to become a top writer of one a big ask
And to succeed as a writer for many seems too daunting a task.

Most writers do not write for wealth or for fame
And despite lack of success they pen on just the same
For every one hundred thousand writers perhaps one writing millionaire
Amongst the ranks of the wealthy the writers are rare.

Few writers can hope for to scale success height
For the love of writing they only do write
Few writers get published and fewer know of success
But in their writings on paper their thoughts they express.

Most writers will never know wealth and renown
And they are not even well known in their own Hometown
They never will be known beyond their home shore
They write for the love of it and little more.

Writer's Drought

You've heard of a thing called writer's block and you've heard of writer's drought
But writers are never short of things on which they can write about
It's just at times their inspiration well does seem to run dry
And they cannot seem to pen a line though hard enough they try.

The writers drought it causes writers moments of self doubt
Till the words that seem locked in them eventually flow out
Through their pens to their notebooks their dry spells do not last
And on time lost out on penning words they seem to catch up fast.

Some writers in their writing drought cannot seem to feel inspired
To write even a single line they feel mentally tired
But when fresh inspiration comes to them much better stuff they do write
And feeling re-invigorated they sit and pen all night.

Most writers you will talk to of writers drought can tell
When there is no inspiration in their inspiration well
But when inspiration returns to them and their creative juices flow
They become much better writers and in self confidence grow.

Vampires

Few creatures of the night have captured our imagination like vampires.
What explains our enduring fascination with vampires?
What is it about the vampire myth that explains our interest?
Is it the overtone of sexual lust, power and control?
Or is it a fascination with the immortality of the undead?
And what dark and hidden parts of our psyche are aroused and captivated
by the legends of the undead, by the legends of the undead,
by the legends of the undead.
The mystery of the undead will continue to fascinate the living.
Few creatures of the night have captured our imagination like vampires.
What explains our enduring fascination with vampires?
And what dark and hidden parts of our psyche are aroused and captivated
by the legends of the undead, by the legends of the undead?

The Sold Out Artist

Out in the street and
Under the sun.
I kissed his feet and loaded his gun.
Sooner or later everyone does!
Everybody feeds the fat boy. everybody feeds the fat boy.
They just dont get it!
Vampires! theyre vampires!
Its all about...suckin on something...
Some suck scum, some suck tits, some just suck up!
They all suck something.
Except ted williams...he never sucks.
Ill be buried with my ted williams cards!
He had 406 in 1941...put a side out the last game with a 3995...
They go in the books as 400, but he played and he went 445.
Ted williams...he was a saint! ...vampires!
Yeah, they all think I suck...
But they really wish their stuff sold like mine!
Next Ill do nude decending a staircase!
Ill get a hundred grand for it! let em suck that! vampires...

A too severe Penalty? ? story poem

The vampire breed grows more profuse.
According to the latest news
They have evolved and hunt by day
This frightens me I have to say.

I used to stay indoors by night
and do my chores in broad daylight.
I knew that vampires feared the sun
But now that last safeguard is gone.

They used to fear the crucifix
just as they should the heretics.
But now we have no defence at all.
Should a vampire choose to call.

They do not wear long flowing cloaks
they dress like all the other folks.
There is no way you can be sure
about the family next door

You cannot tell who you can trust.
To be quite free of the blood lust.
Even the Vicar is not free
of being watched suspiciously.

I do not mind donating blood.
I feel quite strongly that I should
but only voluntarily
and taken scientifically.

I live alone reclusively
and venture out reluctantly.
Do all my shopping on the net
which seems to be the safest bet.

I often wonder what they’ll do
when everyone’s a vampire too.
No humans left on which to prey.
They’ll have to find some other way.

To satisfy their thirst for blood
Though I have always understood.
They do not prey on their own kind
Because their systems are designed

to digest only human blood.
Their prime and only source of food
When the last of us is gone
and no one left to feast upon

What I'm working on now - I'm back to fantasy, although considering that it's me, I'm turning it into a kind of science fantasy. It's a vampire story - but my vampires are biological vampires. They didn't become vampires because someone bit them; they were born that way.

Rapaces

eternal life runs so slow
while you play your lamentation show
eternal kisses are cold
why do you think they are beautiful?
Let the candles burn
And the stakes go through the soul

not all vampires suck blood
not all of them die for love

eternal life runs- so very slow
impossible-so very wrong wrong
final prayers are loud
how do you think that yours will sound?
not all romantic wounds
some of us are strong

not all vampires suck blood
not all of them die for love

eternal life runs so very slow
you are the star of my lamentation show
eternal kisses are gold
yes I think they are beautiful
let all candles burn
some of us are strong

not all vampires suck blood
not all of them die for love

The Power Of Love

(gill/johnson/nash/otoole)
Ill protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
Feels like fire
Im so in love with you
Dreams are like angels
They keep bad at bay-bad at bay
Love is the light
Scaring darkness away-yeah
Im so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal
*the power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal
Ill protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
When the chips are down Ill be around
With my undying, death-defying
Love for you
Envy will hurt itself
Let yourself be beautiful
Sparkling love, flowers
And pearls and pretty girls
Love is like an energy
Rushin rushin inside of me
*(repeat)
This time we go sublime
Lovers entwine-divine divine
Love is danger, love is pleasure
Love is pure-the only treasure
Im so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal
The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
The power of love
A force from above
A sky-scraping dove
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal
Ill protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

Buffy The Vampire Slayer!

At dead of night, out on patrol,
She went to cemeteries!
She hoped to meet no living soul,
Just vampires there to seize!
She took them on as if her fate,
In alley ways as well...
And while she thought karate's great,
She sent vampires to Hell!

Those bloody vampires think they're smart,
But she thought they were dumb!
The cross she wore upon her heart
Was prone to turn them numb!
With wooden crosses here and there,
Plus wooden stakes for luck,
She chased those lost boys everywhere
Until their hearts were struck!

Along the way, she fell in love
With Angel and with Spike,
But pretty soon, she'd had enough!
'Go on, get on yer bike! '
She kicked them both right to the curb,
She cried, 'Just go away! '
She couldn't let lost boys disturb
Her duty day-by-day!

At times, she fancied human boys...
She had a fling or two,
Or three or four, like they were toys,
Like some cheerleaders do!
She kicked her legs up like the rest,
Did cartwheels now and then,
But when night came, she tried her best,
Out on patrol again!

One time beneath that golden moon,
That glowed up in the sky,
She almost fainted with a swoon
That made her wonder why!
At home, her mirror view revealed,
Two tooth marks on her neck!
She screamed and screeched and loudly squealed,
Yelled words like, 'What the heck! ? '

The next few nights left her aghast!
Her dreams were up the creek!
Her night patrols now in the past,
Meant things were looking bleak...
She used to kick lost boys KERPOW,

Vampires Have Disappeared

Gouge the eyes of feminine lust,
Those dreary men do give a thinker
One good stare, and you compel her to order her
Into a riddance, one of those funny songs
In the mind of the ejaculator -
His life has spanned forever,
Now that the Vampires can hurt
Those in dire need of trouble.

Eyes shall giggle and awareness be spoken
Through the eyes of a monk who lives as a cleric,
He can never ever sight It - The Demon.
“I spoke of a creature that arrests our stay
Into the world under the Sky, with blood it
Shall accomplish. And forever this way
Is the accompaniment of dread that I speak.”

Now, and then, a master of sorcery has bellowed
Strange words of nuisance to the existing crowds
Which are under the Sun of the Blood Brothers,
Or should I say Sisters?
Let the nocturnal setting be a reminder
Of a sick age of dinosaurs that crept so sylph-like-
As they call themselves for their pretend size.
I rather think as a philosopher Vampires roam the woods
Of a night that haunts many and many who dwell therein.
No more thinking. The Vampires are upset
And their extinction was from something.
But what?

A Vampire Clan's Dilemma

When the princess
of the sparkling castle
by the aqua blue sea
is confronted by evil
She always knows
exactly what to do
keeps her calm
and has no fear

Not even surprised
on this night
of the blue moon
When five vicious vampires
came rather quickly
through the window
With a hungry look
on their ravaged face
drool on their chin
A dead stare with
a now or never
determination

Five vicious vampires
with one goal and plan
to capture one princess
a very easy task
A vampire princess
a true vampire delight

With the introduction
of her new friend
shockwave annihilator
A miracle was performed
in nanoseconds
five vampires gone
One beautiful princess
enjoying her room
with favourite view
