Just once I would like to persuade the audience not to wear any article of blue denim. If only they could see themselves in a pair of brown corduroys like mine instead of this awful, boring blue denim.

I Would Like To Believe That Between Us...

i would like to believe that between us
there is just flesh,
that this is nothing but just a matter of orgasm and
ejaculation, the art of seeking the perfect moan,
the magic of the intertwines,
i would like to believe that this is nothing but just the mere
rubbing of our bodies, Freudian slips, and erotic escapades,
i would like to believe that my love has nothing to do with this,
that this is just a matter of time and that everything will just pass
that like the wind, something will just touch our cheeks
a little coldness and a little warmth
and then there would be nothing left...

but it is not so, now that the wrinkles reign like a kingdom of its
own where age is the queen and silence is the king,
where the children of memories slowly leave us...

i like to say now, love survives and i still love you
for all the coming days of my life.

to you my wife, cheers.

I Just Know What I Like

What makes you think you've been invited,
To tingle up and down my spine?

What makes you think candlelight and wine,
Does the trick?
Or that soft music, grapes...
And frankenscense,
Will curl my toes?
Hmmm?
I 'spose you gon' say you psychic?
Or sumthin' cuning.
Like you're a honey?
And I'm gonna get stung!
Hmmm?

Now you better not bring sharp cheddar cheese,
In here!
OR, I'll just have to...

'I like mine extra sharp.
With slices of pepperoni.'

What makes you think you've been invited,
To tingle up and down my spine?

What makes you think candlelight and wine,
Does the trick?
Or that soft music, grapes...
And frankenscense,
Will curl my toes?
Hmmm?
You psychic?

'No!
Not one bit!
I just know what I like.
And from 'whom' to get it.'

Oh...
I'm your 'whom'.
I'll be your 'who' too!
Since you've got this like you do.

'I just know what I like.
And from 'whom' to get it.
That's all I need to know,
About you.
It aint no mystery.'

The Passion Of Christ

I'll not hunger for a fortune while others wait and starve!
Nor drink away the afternoon... Nor at the beggars laugh!
I challenge every soul on Earth to stand up for what's right!
To humbly pray for what has worth! No matter, day or night!
This world has problems all its own! Must men be taught to care?
And till all evil's overthrown, I shall not quit My prayer!
For eternal is My vigil! The Cosmos cannot end
Till it's seen faith's mighty struggle and evils are condemned!
Father, grant Me still the passion! Let not the heat grow cold!
Unblemished by every fashion that tries to fit Man's mould!
God gave a shield, God gave a sword, God gave a helmet, too!
So that I'd stand and fight assured and see the battle through!
And if I must die a hero that only God could see,
God grant He makes new blood to flow in heroes just like Me!
For I'll not die a withered man with all My passions spent!
I'll do the very best I can! There's no way I'll relent!
Hell has no fury like the fire that burns within My soul!
To God's great justice I aspire... and God's grace is My goal!
I cannot turn this way or that, retreat My pilgrim path...
Should My dead body be laid flat, 't would be My epitaph!
No craven coward soul am I! No weakling on My own...
I've seen almighty God on high! He's smiling on His Throne!
So if I'm martyred, 'tis God's will... My soul still shines with love!
No matter where My blood may spill, My soul ascends above!

The Dreamer

Part I. A Winter Dream
A wilt-rose resting upon my windowsill
The fresh cool scent of dawn enters my room
Oh how I wish to dream that dream again
That magical wonderland night

Pirouetting faeries upon the lake
Lovers rolling in the fields of snow
In this sacred meadow of life
The heart has no fear nor shame to hide

This is my dream, my fantasy
To see the world as it should be
In the safety of my memory
Is but a wish that will never be

The piano sings its favorite song
To the scores of dead children
The smiling clown dances for their delight
Yet it is nothing but a dream

The hopeful awaken
From their slumber
With the wish
That their dreams come true

This is my dream, my fantasy
To see the world as it should be
In the safety of my memory
Is but a wish that will never be

Part II. Swansong Lullaby
The swanheart loved me
Once upon a time
As it rest its head upon my knee
I looked into its soul
All the care for the world
Is not enough to set me free

The swanheart saved me
Taught me how to live
Passion would bring the morn
I was touched by its love
I saw the beauty of the world
It was the gift to grant me peace

This is my dream, my fantasy
To see the world as it should be
In the safety of my memory
Is but a wish that will never be

Part III. The Dream
A lonely girl lays awake at night
Longing for a friend for comfort
No one would be there for her
If I could hold her just once
I would

A stray wanders the alleys
Begging for any scrap it may find
Blinded by hunger it wanders into a growing light

The wish to be loved is all that was ever wanted
It would have been the one wish to save a life
A life that we now mourn in failure

The smiling woman you pass by on the streets
Goes home and cries herself to sleep
Hurt by her love, abandoned by her son
Took one final taste of life and laid down to rest

I walk barefoot through the grass beside you
Laying upon the shores, your hand in mine
Watching the tide come and go
Never straying from your side
We slept naked that night beneath a blanket of stars
True love in nature's unbridled beauty

A mother has to fight back the tears in her eyes
As she comforts the dead children in her arms
Their father now sits alone in his prison
He won't be hurting them anymore

If you could tell someone
Anyone
Be it family or friend
Lonesome passerby on the busy streets
That you loved them
Would you?

Is there really a saint behind Yuletide?
Is there such a thing as magic?
Is that why we feel such joy
When we see the first snow of December?

A lost love wanders the streets it knows so well
The flickering streetlight where it all began
The grass by the creek where they once lay
The bed wherein their hearts bloomed
The final love song that was never heard

A child walked up to me and embraced me
Called me family, taught me innocence
I witnessed what true beauty could be
But was unable to save him from the world
As I watched him walk away, alone

A girl looks into a mirror
Hating what she is
Seeing nothing but ugliness
I took one look upon her
And fell in love with her true beauty
As should you all

A child holds a photo of his mother in his pocket
Knowing she's watching over him lovingly
Always

If only I could be granted one wish
It would be to leave this world behind
To abandon all the wrongs of the world
Embracing simplicity, love,
Humility, empathy, kindness
And in all the wonder that could be
Learn what heaven truly is like

The blind man was granted sight by his angel
He beheld all the beauty wherein he lived for a moment
Leaving it all behind as he earned his wings

A lonesome child holds his only friend in the world
And plants a single kiss upon its button eyes

Before I leave this world,
Teach me why we choose to remain
Among the beasts
Where man eats man
Blood is shed for faith
And ideologies can tear us all apart

I dive into the river and swim to its depths
The light growing further and further away
In the darkest reach of these waters
I will find purification

The piano's song filled my heart
With the most beautiful sound
From its blooms came forth
The most beautiful poetry
Flowing from my eyes
To paint a landscape of Eden
Upon the bare shores
I've never felt so close
To finding true happiness
As when I touched its soft, teary cheek

Do you know what it's like to lose everything?
To watch your friend die before your eyes?
To feel your heart broken by the one you trusted?
To feel all alone in the world?
To know no one in the world needs you
As much as you need them?
It's a pain you can't begin to imagine

It was the kindest child who touched my heart
With the simplest gift of love
Born not of the flesh but in spirit
Beyond all mortality, we become one
Breathing, dreaming perfection
Nothing in the world could come between us
As we will pass from this life together

Laying down beside her child in forever-sleep
A mother's love knows, and has no limits

An old man sits with his old friend one last time
Feels the coolness of the white keys
Plays his life, now complete, to the world
Note by note, all the years he spent searching,
Now the memories fade away
Until the final chord is struck
And his spirit finally finds peace

In reading this line, know I wish only to love you more
To give the passion to the kindest hearts
Teaching love to a heart who had none
In life and in death all the care you blessed upon my world
Made for the final beautiful smile in the saddest man

Life is more precious than any gem
Love, more beautiful than any music,
Why throw away what you only feel once
Wish only to heal the world's wounds

Beyond the blood and flesh we bear in this world
We are but one beautiful creation in this garden
Bound to live, bound to love, bound to lose it all
To cry for all that we had is to be human
The tears for the dead give birth to the sweetest poetry
And if, for one moment, we cease our vile ways
Take in and embrace the feelings of love's simplicity,
Learn to let go, learn to dream, learn to love
Maybe we may know innocence once more

Now How About You

We always talk but you never listen
You agree with everything I say
Just once I would like to follow
And not have to feel this way
Now How About You
You shower me with so much
But these things will never do
I only want to hear what you think
Because that's how much I love you
Now How About You
Please don't sit there quietly
I need to hear you for a change
You have so much to say I see it
Tell me now you too feel the same
Now How About You

Heart Like Mine

Night grows cold
I've been lonely so much
Out of reach
Save it only for me
Nothing in life is the same
And the sooner we stop to start

And there's a heart like mine
Somewhere in this world
There's a heart like mine
Beating but left to burn

Maybe you can hide your face forever
God knows it's true
That when you search for someone
There's a heart like mine
There's a heart like mine
To be heard

Souls on fire
Feel her voice in your ear
She goes on
Living only for me
Nothing you say could be wrong
'Cause you give me the lovers sign

And there's a heart like mine
Somewhere in this world
There's a heart like mine
Beating but left to burn

Maybe we can share it all forever
But not 'til we do
I'm gonna search for someone
There's a heart like mine
There's a heart like mine
To be heard

And baby are we waking up together
'Cause God knows it's you
If there is love for someone

And there's a heart like mine
Somewhere in this world
There's a heart like mine
Beating but left to burn

Maybe we can share it all forever
But not 'til we do
I'm gonna search for someone

There's a heart like mine
There's a heart like mine

To be heard

There's a heart like mine
There's a heart like mine

Life

Life is not a bed of roses
Life is full of ups and downs
Life, they say, is what you make it
Or, maybe, how you make it

But it seems to me rather curious
Why a greater group of God's creations
Would choose to make their lives
Bumpy, lumpy and clumpy
Instead of bouncy and bubbly

Some clearly act carelessly
Do things remarkably recklessly
Never learning from their bloopers
Always blooming in their bloomers
Making for themselves
Lives lined with lack
Presences padded with pointless poverty
Life is palpably how they play it

But what about those humans
Who loyally lead their lives
Striving to do the right things
Actually doing them perfectly
Yet try, very hard, as they could
Find themselves, struggling
To get disentangled
From life's strangling

Is life how they made it?
Is life as they like it?

Questions begging for answers
But it seems that poet is right
He wrote: some men are born great
Others achieve greatness
While others have greatness thrust upon them

Life is thus not only how you make it
But also how you are helped to make it
The funding firstly from the Father
Then furthermore from the world
Parents, family, friends or others

Whatever the source of the support
Proper purpose is primary
To reaping the required reward
And enhancing your life

But one thing seems crystal clear
No matter what one does
Born with silver spoon in mouth
Or born unto a mound
Life is seldom a smooth situation
It is a war of many worries
It is a race on a tedious track
With Life's rumples really revealed
When a person travels that trail

Life is not our type of race
What counts with life's race
Is the resolve with which you race
And whether you complete the chase
Finishing gallantly is winning
This qualifies you for an accolade

As many as finish the course
Are thus worthy winners
In life's challenging race
Complete the course with zest
And cross the line with zeal
That is what certainly counts.
It will make you to be counted

I Say There's A Tree, A Horizon

Big tree
right outside my room
tell me when your flowers will bloom

big tree
a wars'a comin soon
this war'll bring you alotta doom

big tree
spread your leaves and fly
cuz you dont wanna be here when your flowers die

big tree
uproot yourself and run
run from the bullets and run from the guns

war
from the oceans to the land
no more water to fill your hands

flowers
I'll try to water you
but theres salt in my tears and that jus' wont do

big tree
they dont understand
that what they do effects your land

big tree
by you I've made a bed
and I ask you how this war moves us ahead

big tree
my friend whats the cost
if only they could see the faces of the lost

pinecone
shaped like a grenade
the grass where you lay is all I could save

big tree
where have your sisters gone?
to make more boxes to lay flags on?

big tree
where have your brothers gone?
to make more boxes to carve names on?

Prose-Poetry

Once prose and poetry existed side by side
Two styles of literature, each with its bound
Jealously guarded by the literati
Lest prose masquerades as poetry.

The First World War smashed all fetters,
Soldiers wrote heart-rending poetic letters
To sweethearts, friends, fathers and mothers.
Newspapers published their anguish and horrors

The literati classed them as prose
And turned up their nose
At such a new trend of mongrelised poetry;
But the public gave it name and identity
Prose-poetry began to gain respectability.

Prose-poetry is a contradiction in terms,
An oxymoron; a paradox of many forms.
When well written, words flow as though in rhyme
Thought and syntax together dance with rhythm.

Some pen few lines haphazardly,
String words together arbitrarily,
Flit between thoughts randomly,
Structure their poems casually.

They want us to see them as thinkers
In fact, they are just wearing blinkers.
If only they could see their folly
They’d stop abusing prose-poetry.

In The Territory of The Gerasenes

From deep inside
I heard them,
howling hatred
lashing me with my own hands
gashing the rocky tombs
with my own bloody feet.

Late at night
they cursed and fought
deep inside
my aching skull.

I was their prisoner,
and they were many…

But then I saw Him by the lake
and my soul leapt
even as Legion arose
and with my ragged voice raged,
“what will you do to us? ”

My soul cried louder,
“Save me! ”

Hearing us both,
He drove dark spirits
from my unclean breast
and into the beasts poor swine.
Madness cast them
into death’s deep pit

but I could hear only
silence.

Peace
filled me.

My hand moved
only when I commanded,
and what my eyes saw
I clearly viewed.

The people of the village
fearing a man who could
compel demons,
begged Him to leave.

Blind fools!
If only they could see Him
as I do.

As he was going, I begged to go too
and stay forever in the light
of his face.

But this grace
was not
for me alone

He told me to go
and proclaim without fear
how His love saved me
from my soul’s dark night,
and led me here, into
bright paradise,

America

Freedoms gravity dressed for the oppressed,
Long sailed to liberty’s harbour,
This land drinks the stream of new lifers,
So many souls on the path of opportune.

Since the constitution, amendments,
Washington, Lincoln’n’Kennedy
Forged hope to turn to reality the
Magnet that bonds a cosmopolitan nation.
.

Doughnuts’n’flapjacks coffee in the morn’,
The Irish policeman paces the square of time,
As the street of walls mints out money
To build route sixty-six to way out west.

The shining star of Hollywood and vine is
Far out shone by Capital hill,
As the plague of apartheid forever sealed
In darkened cage by a humanitarian bill.

Thankyou Mr Bell for the telephone,
Mr Ford to ring for expertise on
The production line to use for many things,
Now jalopies roll by the million for the working man.

Thankyou Mr Singer for sewing up our clothes,
Powered by Mr Edison, Wright Bros are waiting
To fly the world around itself, if only they could see
The stars and stripes waving from the moon.

Gates are open for helping lots in need,
In this twenty first century keep up your wonder boom,
This land drinks the stream of new lifers,
So many soles on the path of opportune.

Thankyou our Lord for sending Mr Obama
Who's sowing seeds of peace and wisdom,
Across the U-S of A and faraway lands
If every soul listens would'nt that be GRAND

Tell Me When

Tell me when
Will i?
Tell me when
Will i?
Tell me when
Will I see you again?
Tell me when
Kelly took a lifetime
Searching for the bottom line
I wasnt into searching
cause I was doing fine
I wasnt into fighting, chasing,
Sweating, slaving, fretting, racing
Any waste of effort
Isnt part of my design
Billy was an inspiration,
Positive and kind
Until he let confusion
Overcome his youthful mind
Common sense dictated
I could never be so blind
And then
Then I see you
Tell me when
Will I see you again?
Tell me when
Will I see you again?
Tell me when
Will I see you again?
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah
Happenstance an episode unplanned,
Alone in time
Coincidence, the second chance
Re-sounding like a rhyme
How paths may cross against the odds
To wreck the plans you made
Among the crowd a face that smiles
To melt your masquerade
If only I could see you
Says the stranger deep inside
And lets you know that when you were
So sure you really lied
If only I could see you
Says the voice within your brain
And quietly, insistently
It says it once again
And then, I really need to know
It wouldnt seem so lonely
If only I could see you
Baby, you can be free
If only I could see you
Youll never have to doubt me
If only I could see you
Baby, you could free me
If only I could see you
If only I could see you
Tell me when
Tell me when
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah
Tell me when
Will I see you again?
Will I see you again?
Will I see you again?
Will I see you again?
Then
I really need to know
If only if only if only I could see you
If only I could see you
If only if only if only I could see you
Will I see you again?
If only if only if only I could see you
Will I see you again?
Will I see you again?
If only if only if only I could see you
Will I see you again?
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah
If only if only if only I could see you
Tell me when
Will I see you again?
Tell me when
Will I see you again?
If only if only if only I could see you
Tell me when
Will I see you again?
If only if only if only I could see you
If only if only if only I could see you
If only if only if only I could see you

Elevated Observations?

(clarke / hicks / nash)
On top of a hill is a nice place to be at,
Diggin the country for miles around.
Watchin the people like ants on a hillside,
Running around, running around.
So far below me I see the confusion,
Small-minded men with their small-minded wives.
If they could see themselves where I am standing,
Theyd alter their lives, alter their lives.
And Im so high up I touch the sky.
And Im so high up I touch the sky.
Climb up here, jump up here,
Skip up, or run up.
Get up here somehow cos youll find your head.
Finally finding the level youre after.
Ego is dead. ego is dead.
And Im so high up I touch the sky.
And Im so high up I touch the sky.
Wish theyd start using the path of tomorrow.
Theres only way up and one way down.
Decide for yourself on the path youll be taking
When you look down, down and around.
And Im so high up I touch the sky ...

Love Found

As I weep and wait for you,
From the chill there is no escape,
All night I walk the mist filled hills,
And long for your warm embrace.

I hunger for your kisses,
The pain in my heart to errace,
But I know this won't happen,
For the tomb holds your embrace.

Your lips now stone cold,
To the living do not yield,
My love, a soldier brave,
Now dead on some foreign feild.

My heart is slowly dying,
My mind will never heal,
I look for you in the mist filled hills,
Your love once again to feel.

How can my heart keep beating,
When my mind is dead to life,
My body feels so broken,
How can I bear this strife?

They say I greaved my self to death,
But it only set me free,
For at last I found my soldier,
If only they could see.

So if you walk these hills at night,
And two lovers embraced, you see,
You'll know I found my soldier,
And my love, he did find me.

My Final Goodbye

It is now I know my fate
becuase come tomorrow
It'll be way too late by a far.
I'm sinking in my sorrows.
And tommorrow I shall be dead.

With my bleeding wrists,
There I lay on the floor.
For I'm choosing not to live
Mysad and pathetic life anymore

This is my suicide,
My one final goodbye
You won't have any clue
How I'm about to die

I'm, beaten and broken,
I can't livel ike this anymore
My mindand pain it has spoken
as I slowly die on the floor

My heartwas broken,
My feelings hurt,
My childhood stolen.
Pain induced on to me
So you push me in the dirt.

Nothing is left in this world for me
If only people could see
My sad and lonely life.
That will soon be existence free

This is my suicide,
My one final goodbye
And you won't have any clue
How I'm about to die.

But do not bother yourself with,
The ifs and buts.
And dont bother yourself,
With the questions why.
Wondering why will not bring me back.
I am dead and I have gone.

Bag of Bones

Just a bag of bones
At which life throws its stones
Time passes, I hear them creak
If only they could speak
Ask now! Before it's too late
Of their life and fate
I hear them groan
Against life's pressure
Against others measure
Am I just a bag of bones?

Lullaby For Wayne (pre-production Recording)

summer 1988
never though you'd graduate
playin with your guns all day
if only they could see you now
and how you've learned to shoot so well
they wouldn't talk that way
(chorus)
wayne, you know it's true
there's nothing you can do
so put those guns away
who cares it's wrong or right
so please give up the fight
and put those guns away
all of your freinds are through
they've given up what they tried to do
see now how happy they are
each with a new lease on life
a brand new car and a milage wife
doo doo doo doooo doo doo...

Sometimes Questioned When Revealed

I've seen birds with wings,
Use them.
I've known people with talents,
And God given gifts...
Use them for a purpose.
And intent.

I've heard those with wisdom,
Share insights.
I've seen a commercial jet,
Take off...
Weighted with passengers,
And luggage...
Soar from a standstill,
To rise in the skies in flight.

But I've seen many people,
From behind as they walked.
And I wondered to myself...
If only they could see,
From my point of view and eye sight...
Those wide shadows cast,
On the sidewalks...
In broad daylight!

I've seen birds with wings,
Use them.
I've known people with talents,
And God given gifts...
Use them as well.

However...
To spread around,
Pound for pound...
What some people carry,
That has yet in their minds...
Been introduced to marry common sense,
Is as mysterious as those acts of genius...
Taken for granted,
That are around us...
AND,
With a significance that influences.
But still,
They are sometimes questioned when revealed!

Anno Mundi

Can you see me, are you near me?
Can you hear me crying out for life?
Can you tell me, wheres the glory?
Ride the days and sail the nights
When its over youll find the answer
Running in the whispering rain
Anno mundi? can you wonder!
Truth or thunder, life or blame
Do you see a vision of a perfect place?
Does it make you laugh, put a smile on your face?
Do you need a mirror, do you see it well?
Does the hand of God still toll the bell?
There are people laughing
Theyre all laughing at you
If only they could see what youre saying is true
Still generals fighting, making war on the world
Dont they know, dont they know?
No, no, no
The wind in the night blows cold
Your eyes are burning
As the sands of our time grow old
Anno mundi
Do you follow the path that so many tread?
Are you among the blind so easily lead?
Do you join the war, do you fight for the cause?
Depend on another to fight it alone
The wind in the night blows cold
Your eyes are burning
As the sands of our time grow old
Anno mundi
Can you see me now, can you hear me now?
Can you tell me wheres the glory?
Ride the days and sail the nights
When its over, youll find the answer
Running in the rain
Theres a hope thats growing and a vision too
All those angry hearts now reach out for you
Do you look to the dawn, see a new day begun?
No longer the fool, the vision is done
