William Shakespeare

Hamlet: Why, then, 'tis none to you, for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. To me it is a prison.
Rosencrantz: Why then, your ambition makes it one. 'Tis too narrow for your mind.

Making Merit

'There's nothing either good or bad
but thinking makes it so.'

And riding on that apophthegm,
to lower worlds they go
until the pain compresses them
and makes them scream out, 'No! '

There is some truth in points of view,
that what seems good to me
might not seem so to you;
but can you say that how you see
affects the way a thing may be?

'Good' actions do not depend
on the viewpoint you happen to select,
but on what you intend
and whether it produces good effect.

No matter what the label may be,
by its fruit we judge the tree.

Sharp Eyeliner, Cheap lipstick & Rich arrogant smile!

*Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
-Shakespeare

She too struggles in the ring
With soft boxing gloves.
Be aware of Cops who come as Puritans.
A ruined Castle and a single lamp post watches
Without a bulb in the premises.
Haughty Moon never peeps.
The old gets young and the young gets old
Those who make Taboos
They too peep sometimes when in thirsty of this burning Life!

To the poet Shakespeare Waste Bin in gratitude!

The Love Of A Woman

I walked half way across this town
Singing in the pouring rain
I knew someway somehow
I had to see your smiling face
Some people need some time
Some people need their space
But when you're not in my arms
You're too far away (for).
Chorus:
The love of a woman
The love of a woman like you
The love of a woman
There's nothing so strong and so true
I prayed to God above
And I've searched my whole life through
For the love of a woman
The love of a woman like you.
My friends all ask me why
I lay my heart on the line
But somewhere deep down inside
They know exactly why
When it don't go like you plan
There's nothing that hurts so bad
But when it works like it should
There's nothing on earth known to man (like).
Chorus:
The love of a woman
The love of a woman like you
The love of a woman
There's nothing so strong and so true
I prayed to God above
And I've searched my whole life through
For the love of a woman
The love of a woman like you.
--- Instrumental ---
Oh, I prayed to God above
And I've searched my whole life through
For the love of a woman
The love of a woman like you
For the love of a woman
The love of a woman like you...

The Mind's Strange Beauty, with Its Smile

It’s said, that when our mind
awakes, out of that sweetest place
in which it sleeps, rests, is refreshed;
in the morning; or in those
rare moments when we let it take its rest;

this wondrous instrument, invisible,
yet holding all we think is ours…
in the twinkling before it spreads our world
before us, like some awed geographer
unrolling with two hands a map from polished rods,
inviting exploration, conquest, or desire…

in that great moment, as it emerges from that place
which is to us no place… that holy place,
of universal mind before it’s individual –
that bran tub where we thrust our eager arm –
splits its precious unity, which some mighty force
beyond place and time itself, has decreed that mind
may find itself, or lose itself, in multiplicity –

splits this onely mind into polarity:
scans like some godly radar,
its whole vast world surveyed;
surveyed in truth; indifferent
as that sweeping line which arcs incessantly
to show, there’s this and this…

a fraction of a moment, and then we
clothe all this playground of the soul
(glancing so quickly, setting up
imaginary walls, beyond which
be dragons and our mortal enemies…) with our illusions,
our beloved illusions, the land
where we may play, pretend ourselves
to be ourselves… our world
of friction and duality:

from small (it thinks) to great (it fears) ,
from good (it likes) to bad (it scorns..)
the pleasing and unpleasing there;
the loves and hates; all the illusions
that we defend, fight over, argue, build…
the friction of the tire on road…
all set against each other – in our mind;
‘nor good nor bad, but thinking makes it so’…

This is the magic of the mind; with this,
ourselves as conmen, tricksters – sometimes
healers, teachers, wise men too
with this, in this we play,
as poets with a dictionary;
know this – and watch this ticking, exquisite watch,
its intricate fine mechanism
running on until its spring winds down:

know this, and laugh that heavenly laugh
that blows away illusion; that laugh
that has the sweetest sound you ever heard,
as if you laughed with gods; or,
smiling as a goddess smiles.

Nothing is bad

What he fought for as a Jurist,
He will have reversed as a Jury.
What he craved as a Have-not,
He will have denied as a Have.
What he indulged in as a Man,
He will have resented as a Woman.
What he imposed as a Ruler,
He will have retaliated as a Subject.
Each one is right for one’s action
From a certain position.
There is nothing good or bad
But thinking makes it so.’

It Is Your Mind

Whatcha’ gonna’ do
When your mind
Takes you
To places… that you
Don’t want
To go?

After all, it is your mind
You should rule it!
Wouldn’t you think that was so?
What do you do when you look
at your partner, and instead
See a stranger in bed with you?

And why does your mind
Seem to always find
A reason to make you feel blue?
What do you do
When you see your house,
yet your mind no longer… sees a home?

What do you do
When in a room full of people
Your mind reminds youyou’re all alone?
What do you do
When your mind makes you
Read aloud… words which once, you were smitten

You put your hands oe’r your ears
To shut out the fears… and the tears
from the words that your mind’s just written

Love Can Change Your Mind

(bob farrell/regie hamm)
Ive waited all of my life to find my destiny
Then like a sunrise appears, you came to me
I never knew it before that I could feel this way
I thought Id lost my faith
But since you captured my heart
I can say, oh, that...
Love can change your mind, I know
Love can move your heart and soul
And just when you think
Hope has gone and left you behind
Love can change your mind
Picture it if you will, heaven right here on earth
Suddenly, everythings new
Now, I can see what believing was worth, oh, cause...
Love can change your mind, I know
Love can move your heart and soul
And just when you think
Hope has gone and left you behind
Love can change your mind
I was so lost and alone
I felt like my angels had flown away
But now my heart has come home
And I know that its here to stay, oh, cause...
Love can change your mind
And just when you think
Hope has gone and left you behind
Love can change your mind, I know
Love can move your heart and soul
And just when you think
Hope has gone and left you behind
Love can change your mind

Your mind's ocean

Swimming away
swimming away
swimming away yeah
swimming through the deep blue ocean
nothing but red skies ahead
so put on ya hat and sun screen lotion
operation over cooperation
go swimming in your mind's ocean

The water so still
and the wind in motion
i'll be up and alive
before i'm down and moping
wake up in the water
before you drown
i'll make you want to smile
with my speechless frown
so put on ya hat and sun screen lotion
operation over anticipation
go swimming in your mind's ocean

Thoughts of doom and no hope
I'll dropp them in the oceans deep
To save my eyes when i grope
Dead to the world in this cool sleep
Swimming away
Swimming away
we'll swim all night
And walk all day
so put on ya hat and sun screen lotion
operation over destination
Lets go swimming
Lets go Swimming
in your mind's ocean

There's Nothing One Can Say Against Goodbye

i never knew it would be like this
a certain always or a deja vue
seen too many times but hurts just the same
i keep saying it's ok
and it is it really is
'cos one cannot make anybody
anybody stay
and there's nothing one can do
against goodbye
i live, you know, at the joints
in the pack of cards towers
that turn down too easily i know
i have never learned to build solidly
i know it all serves me right
my fault is sort of my way of the world
and it's ok
it really is
'cos one cannot make anybody
anybody love you
and there's nothing one can do
against goodbye
i never knew i could draw a heart again
a certain heart always a deja vue
hit too many times but beats just the same
i keep saying it's ok
it'll beat again
there'll be lots of love around
even without me
or my first or last times
there'll be lots of love around
even without you
or your first and last goodbye
and there's nothing one can say
against that

Maskers

Everybody on this stage
do a different role.
It's prohibited to remove one's mask
and see the real face.
The given role you have to perform
whether you like it or not.
The director too masked
and you cannot protest the dictator
either good or bad.
Be quiet until the curtain close.

Personally, I still don’t really know what progressive means. In some people’s minds if a piece of music is over 10 minutes long, it automatically gets the label of being progressive. I always enjoy playing arrangements kind of in a classical format, which is in movements. To me, music is either good or bad; it doesn’t matter what the label is. The kind of progressive label that I don’t like is the one that involves lyrics that quote dancing gnomes, Stonehenge and fairytales.

If You Look For Evil

If you look for evil good you cannot see
For your eyes only tell you what they want you in others to see
Of good and bad races you keep telling me
But your opinions are different to mine we see things differently.

I've worked with those of different races and backgrounds and in truth I can say
That people as a whole are quite good in their own way
Of different beliefs and cultures but I found them to be okay
If you show respect for others respect to you they will pay.

When you start comparing races you I do not wish to hear
your ignorance on such matters only based on your fear
Of those you see as different to you difference you cannot embrace
'Tis wrong to condemn people because of their race.

If you are only looking for flaws in those who are different to you then flaws you will find
To the good that is in them you do become blind
In this multicultural World your thinking renders you as small
One must admire those who believe in a fair go for all.

It's up to you for M lady Flora

The mist that crept in from the sea.
Advancing inexorably,
enveloped first the sandy beach.
Then well beyond the high tides reach

Invaded streets and avenues
the thoroughfares that people use.
To go about their business.
A wet and cold unpleasantness.

Which nobody had seen before
at least along that friendly shore.
Exuding sheer hostility
as if the demons of the sea.

Deciding that humanity.
had forfeited their right to be.
Had gathered there with one intent
to prove the sea omniscient.

The villagers were sore afraid
some cursed and swore while others prayed.
Though neither made much difference.
Against such mist there’s no defence.

The village disappeared from sight.
Hid by a mist as black as night.
When morning broke there was no one.
No body left to greet the sun.

Now to this day the village stands
although nobody understands.
What happened on that dreadful night
when the sea fret absorbed the light.

No one survived to tell the tale.
Enough to make the bravest quail.
Perhaps you think I’m telling lies
But you will find to your surprise.

If you should choose to visit me
from my front window you can see.
The evidence that what say
A village empty to this day.

Nobody dares to move into
the empty village and renew
a single house in which to live.
Because of legends kept alive.

By older folks who can recall
the night the demons came to call.
If you should wish to you could buy
the whole village and you could try.

To sell the houses one by one
if you’re convinced it can be done.
I think your work would be in vain
What happened once could come again.

To local folks it is taboo
and there is nothing you can do.
but try to sell to foreigners
Who do not know about the curse.

I own the site and I would sell
quite cheaply and I’d wish you well
If you’re prepared to take the chance
There’s been a change of circumstance.

For there are profits to be made.
Maybe the mist will not invade
maybe the tales I tell aren’t true
what you believe is up to you.

I am too old to change my ways
and I prefer to end my days
believing as I’ve always done.
This village should left alone.

Think Not, Not For A Moment Let Your Mind

Think not, not for a moment let your mind,
Wearied with thinking, doze upon the thought
That the work's done and the long day behind,
And beauty, since 'tis paid for, can be bought.
If in the moonlight from the silent bough
Suddenly with precision speak your name
The nightingale, be not assured that now
His wing is limed and his wild virtue tame.
Beauty beyond all feathers that have flown
Is free; you shall not hood her to your wrist,
Nor sting her eyes, nor have her for your own
In an fashion; beauty billed and kissed
Is not your turtle; tread her like a dove
She loves you not; she never heard of love.

Baby Let Me Hold You For The Last Time

This love lasts for you and me
But heaven took you away
From these arms of mine
It feels worthless, I come undone
Sorry for these tears
Oh my darling, I’m so alone
You’re far, far away from me
This distance cannot bind
Our longing, our shadows
I woke up and found none
Hard to understand this life
I ‘m so in love, but you’re gone
Tell me how you are
And I’ll tell you how
I missed the days we dance
All your smiles, your laughs
They slowly fade
Like a cloud in the sky
This bittersweet life
I am heartbreaking
If there is one thing I'll ask
Baby let me hold you
For the last time

Thank You For Reminding Me

Because I thought we both would benefit
By being in each other's presence.
That's why I approached you!
I thought you would find that to be true too.
But you chose to use that
To unleash some unresolved issues...
And bitterness,
You wish to keep!
And I have long since learned to forgive.
However...
I will not forget,
The bitterness you reflect.
That reminds me of myself...
When I was self involved.
With a selfishness I have years ago left,
Behind!
And you are not the kind I wish to waste my time with!
That self centeredness I have dismissed.
Thank you for reminding me,
Just how much I have grown.
Without needs to dump my insecurities,
On someone else's shoulders!
And you?
Seem to do what you do well.
And I do not wish to observe that in practice!
Or keep it rehearsed in my life.

Thank You For...

Thank you for walking
Thank you for spending one day,
With a stranger
Good morning. hello! choose a color, carnation
Well walk along.
Down round the pond, up the hill bricks and steeples
Its not all gone... I recall
Thank you for walking
Thank you for spending one day,
With a stranger
Thank you for talking
And showing the way to a stranger
Wining and dining (what a september)
From bags by the river ( I shouldve worn a sweater)
A sun, sail, song (its cooler up here)
We sat on a wall (oh my)
Rest our feet (just a little longer)
Touch our noses
Then slow poke on... oh, I recall
One red carnation
The color for april
And apples
And wine
I suppose it was white... but I needed the rhyme.
As I packed up to leave oh, I noticed the fountain,
The statues hand.
There in her bronzed, moistened, palm
Red carnation
Without you there... I recall

Are You For Real?

Are you for real?
hey you...
are you feelin like me too?
i need to get an answer out of you
well all the days
all the time
all the lies lie on the line
did you just try to set me off?
well yeah you know i'm easy
and i know its true
that this situation
isn't so easy on you
cause i
i need to know what you want i
i wonder how you feel and i
i need to know what you want
i cannot guess anymore
are you for real?
hey you...
is there truth behind your lies?
is all this love
or is it compromise?
well all the days
all the time
no regrets you're on my mind
did you just try to set me off?
well yeah this awkward silence
feels so cold and used
is this infatuation
or am i addicted to you?
chorus
reverse the beat back up direction
lies in trust and planned out deceptions
the look in your eyes and verbal dissections
lose myself in you and sex then rejection
self destruct in your arms and your words stack to kill
are you for real?
hey you...
are you feeling lonely too?
well i need to get some answers..
some answers

Tailor made for you for M' lady Dawn Slaker

Dreams for sale, each one brand new.
Created daily fresh for you.
I do not claim my dreams come true
but I am sure that some must do.

The only thing I guarantee
is confidentiality.
If you should choose to buy from me.
There are no prying eyes to see.

The kind of dreams that you prefer
There are no records anywhere
So you can purchase free from care
I pride myself on being fair.

Each dream you buy is tailor made
and of the very highest grade
Well worth the price which you have paid.
I am certain that the will persuade.

Even the hardened sceptics to
return again for something new
I usually find that people do
and truly hope that you will too.

Dreams for sale a vast array
and all are freshly made today.
And if you cant afford to pay
I keep a few to give away.

For dreams are a necessity
whether bought are given free.
you can contact me easily
I live in your vicinity
.
If you should find you need a dream
just send your message by moon beam
The moon and I work as a team
that’s working well a splendid scheme
