Amy

Amy, we felt your pain
You sang it like it is
A time bomb with a fizz
- of jazz and soul.
But the demons broke your heart
Your sad love story in the chart
And the booze could not replace what they had stole.
Yet despite your Vodka 'straight'
- and the 'coke'
- They had to wait.
Your voice released an angel of the Blues
The scars they wouldn't heal
Your tragic love songs were for real
'Love is a losing game'
And Amy Winehouse wore the bruise.
So now it's 'Back to black'
Camden Town wants you back
And we'll remember you with poignancy and pain.
With you we weren't alone
And as 'Tears dry on their own'
When your voice rings out
We'll cry them all again.

(For amy... A true legend.)

It's Sad the Lover's Validity of Stay Together when Expires?

On the beach
They walk hand in hand
When Sun goes down
They were separated!
She left for North
And he went to South.
The following day
Sun rises in the East
And I am sure sets in the West.
Another couple on the beach
And where do they go
Secretly I watch?

Lena Horn

Lena Horn

Lena Horn dead at 92, I think of this as I stumble up a stony track,
I used to dream of meeting and marrying her, didn’t know she was
much older than me. No, more, I lusted after her kept a picture of
her face above my bed. till my new wife came and replaced it
with Virgin Mary. It was her sexy voice you see, it brought dreams
of impossible love to the surface. I had her records till the woman,
who took her picture down from my bedroom wall, took them with
her when she left. Bet she can get a lot of money for them now.
Lena Horn, Edit Piaf, Marilyn Monroe, my great mistresses of yore,
how can I possible love, an Amy Winehouse, of this restless world,
or a Courtney love?

Twenty Seven

Poor old Amy Winehouse
she has died far too young
a talented and gifted star
but addictive and highly strung.
She now joins those others
who left their fans in pain
like the great Jimi Hendrix
and Nirvanas Kurt Kobain.
They were so creative
but with minds not at rest
they hit the drink and drugs
when life put them to the test.
Janis Joplin was a great singer
who could really sing the Blues
but her life ended at twenty seven
from too much drugs and booze.
Jim Morrison from the Doors
died at that very same age
he drank himself into oblivion
to cope with his inner rage.
All these great artists gone
all died at the age of twenty seven
they struggled with their demons on earth
let's hope their at peace now in Heaven.

Stronger Than Me (Amy Winehouse)

Stronger Than Me

Sauterne princess
sauvignon (so-vee-yan) wine
satin blues in an alto hue
you seduced me in the misty air of a London fog.
your rock, your jazz, your soul

your cool vibrato floats - like champagne bubbles - on the brim of crystal flutes
your songs melt in my veins - like a stream of the Free Basin sea
your harmony’s whisper - like oil simmering - in a hot iron skillet
You are stronger than me

petite frame, sweet, insane,
entire stage, all alone, little widow spider girl,
alluring and sexy, you kidnapped me with your forlorn poetry.

teasing me with your passionate eyes
b flat rhythms.
Your moody syncopations,
singing acapella riffs, honey coated falsesettos,
bouncing from saxophones to trombones, from guitar lics, to percussion sticks,
you knew the tricks
and I love the beat.

I saw you but thought I heard Billie Holiday
I saw you but thought I heard Lena Turner
I saw you but thought I heard Sarah Vaughn

I saw you - in the misty air - of a London fog.

your soul, your song, your spirit - enchant my lips
like sweet sauvignon wine

Dear Amy

Dear Amy - we all know how you feel -
but honestly, to help you we're just not able -
'cus we're all still - well - much the same;
just hiding behind a designer label.

Sunset Amy

As Sunset Amy dips into the sea
She rises in my heart
A tentative summer's smile
An autumn's first kiss farewell
We awkwardly said hello

Proclaimed proudly
from atop the Alondra
Barra stops to watch
As Sunset Amy dips into the sea
She rises in my heart

Amy Hit The Atmosphere

If I could make it rain today
And wash away this sunny day down to the gutter
I would just to get a change of pace
Things are getting worse but I feel a lot better
And that's all that really matters to me

Amy hit the atmosphere
Caught herself a rocket ride out of this gutter and
She's never coming back

Amy Margaret's Five Year Old

Amy Margaret's five years old,
Amy Margaret's hair is gold,
Dearer twenty-thousand-fold
Than gold, is Amy Margaret.
"Amy" is friend, is "Margaret"
The pearl for crown or carkanet?
Or peeping daisy, summer's pet?
Which are you, Amy Margaret?
A friend, a daisy, and a pearl,
A kindly, simple, precious girl, --
Such, howsoe'er the world may twirl,
Be ever, -- Amy Margaret!

Amy

D folger
Wish that I could wish away love
Every memory
All the things young dreams are made of
That ever used to be
Cos if I could leave it all behind me
Thered be nothing left to constantly remind me
Of amy, of amy
She comes and goes just like the seasons
Keeping me on the run
Between the fever and the reason
Im not the only one
And I guess Ill always feel the same about love
And Ill find it hard to even live without the love
Of amy, amy, oh amy
Amy, amy, amy, amy...

Amy My Lover

My father is as cool as 'L.L.Cool J' and,
My mother is hot as 'Tina Turner'!
But, i will love you like the sentimentals of 'Celine Dion'.

You are as sweet as 'Mariah Carey' and,
I will ride you to the stars like 'Boys and Men';
For, it will be like the first day at school,
With my mind on you like the muse of 'Alica Keys'.

Unplugged is my love so come and plug it for me,
And i've got lessons to learn from you like the songs of 'Bob Marley';
Oh, Amy my lover!
I will always love you with the colours of true love and like the snow falls.

Amy

I dont know why I let go
I want to be your friend
Flowers grow through my window and I love you again
Oh I love you oh
When you laid me down into your beautiful garden
Flowers in the love of my arms
Its God shining through to me I guess
Its God shining through to me I guess
I love you amy
Do you still love me
I go to the places where we used to
I feel sad
I am out here looking for you
Sometimes I pretend
Oh I miss you oh
When you laid me down
Into your beautiful garden
Flowers and the love in my arms
Is God playing evil tricks on me
Is God playing evil tricks on me
Oh I love you amy
Do you still love me

Amy, 27

a woman whose pain never left her eyes &
whose talent never left her very being
who despite all the scumbag newspapers & television vultures who
followed her around on a daily basis
always taking pictures
always informing the public about her life
as if any of us had the right to be bothering her at all-
amy,
whose voice struck electric pangs through the spine
when her frank reality
floated in tandem with an unmatched melody &
captivating presence-
amy, one hopes that now
peace will replace all of the torment that life had
brought with it &
this writer is grateful that you took the time to share it
with us all when you
could.

If Amy Lowell Had Been James Whitcomb Riley

When you came you were like red wine and honey,
And the taste of you burnt my mouth with its sweetness.
Now you are like morning bread--
Smooth and pleasant,
I hardly taste you at all, for I know your savour,
But I am completely nourished.

--AMY LOWELL, in The Chimæra.

When I wuz courtin' Annie, she wuz honey an' red wine,
She made me feel all jumpy, did that ol' sweetheart o' mine;
Wunst w'en I went to Crawfordsville, on one o' them there trips,
I kissed her--an' the burnin' taste wuz sizzlin' on my lips.
An' now I've married Annie, an' I see her all the time,
I do not feel the daily need o' bustin' into rhyme.
An' now the wine-y taste is gone, fer Annie's always there,
An' I take her fer granted now, the same ez sun an' air.
But though the honey taste wuz sweet, an' though the wine wuz strong,
Yet ef I lost the sun an' air, I couldn't git along.

Amy's Song

Amy's gone
And time rolls on
How far? how fast? how long?
The last time we saw Amy
She was headed for the shore
Fighting off the volatile gray skies
She said now begins forever
And that no one knows their time
We bid farewell not knowing
That might be our last good-bye
Chorus:
Amy was a fighter
She cut like Casius Clay
She burned like a fire
Despite these rains
When time was a question
She only knew one song:
She's singing, "how far, how fast, how
long?"
Salvation is a fire
In the midnight of the soul
It lights up like a can of gasoline
Yeah, she's a freedom fighter
She's a stand up kind of girl
She's out to start a fire
In a bar code plastic world
Chorus
When everything stops moving
And I stop to catch my breath
And ride my train of thought
All the way round
My thoughts return to Amy
And the fire she's begun
She came when we were freezing
And left us burning up
Chorus
How long? (3x)
The last time we saw Amy(5x)

Once In Love With Amy

I caught you sir
Having a look at her
As she went strolling by
Now didn't your heart go
Boom,boom,boom,boom,boom
And didn't you sigh a sigh
I warned you sir
Never to dream of her
Just bid such thoughs begone
Or it'll be
Boom,boom,boom,boom,boom,boom,boom
Boom,boom,boom,boom
From then on
For once in love with Amy
Always in love with Amy
Ever and ever fasinated by her
Sets your heart a fire to stay
Once you're kissed by Amy
Tear up your list it's Amy
Ply her with bon-bons, poetry, and flowers
Moon a million hours away
You might be quiet the fickle hearted rover
So care free and bold
Who loves a girl
And later thinks it over
And just quits cold
But once in love with Amy
Alway in love with Amy
Ever and ever sweetly you'll romance her
Trouble is the answer will be
That Amy rather stay in love with me
Da,da,da,da,da,da,da,da,da,da
Ever and ever fasinated by her
(Barry talks) oh I just love this song so much
I want everybody to sing along with me
Once your kissed by Amy
(backround singers)once your kissed by Amy
(Barry)tear up your list it's Amy

Amy Wentworth

TO WILLIAM BRADFORD.

As they who watch by sick-beds find relief
Unwittingly from the great stress of grief
And anxious care, in fantasies outwrought
From the hearth's embers flickering low, or caught
From whispering wind, or tread of passing feet,
Or vagrant memory calling up some sweet
Snatch of old song or romance, whence or why
They scarcely know or ask,--so, thou and I,
Nursed in the faith that Truth alone is strong
In the endurance which outwearies Wrong,
With meek persistence baffling brutal force,
And trusting God against the universe,--
We, doomed to watch a strife we may not share
With other weapons than the patriot's prayer,
Yet owning, with full hearts and moistened eyes,
The awful beauty of self-sacrifice,
And wrung by keenest sympathy for all
Who give their loved ones for the living wall
'Twixt law and treason,--in this evil day
May haply find, through automatic play
Of pen and pencil, solace to our pain,
And hearten others with the strength we gain.
I know it has been said our times require
No play of art, nor dalliance with the lyre,
No weak essay with Fancy's chloroform
To calm the hot, mad pulses of the storm,
But the stern war-blast rather, such as sets
The battle's teeth of serried bayonets,
And pictures grim as Vernet's. Yet with these
Some softer tints may blend, and milder keys
Relieve the storm-stunned ear. Let us keep sweet,
If so we may, our hearts, even while we eat
The bitter harvest of our own device
And half a century's moral cowardice.
As Nurnberg sang while Wittenberg defied,
And Kranach painted by his Luther's side,
And through the war-march of the Puritan
The silver stream of Marvell's music ran,
So let the household melodies be sung,
The pleasant pictures on the wall be hung--
So let us hold against the hosts of night
And slavery all our vantage-ground of light.
Let Treason boast its savagery, and shake
From its flag-folds its symbol rattlesnake,
Nurse its fine arts, lay human skins in tan,
And carve its pipe-bowls from the bones of man,
And make the tale of Fijian banquets dull
By drinking whiskey from a loyal skull,--
But let us guard, till this sad war shall cease,
(God grant it soon!) the graceful arts of peace
No foes are conquered who the victors teach
Their vandal manners and barbaric speech.

And while, with hearts of thankfulness, we bear
Of the great common burden our full share,
Let none upbraid us that the waves entice
Thy sea-dipped pencil, or some quaint device,
Rhythmic, and sweet, beguiles my pen away
From the sharp strifes and sorrows of to-day.
Thus, while the east-wind keen from Labrador
Sings it the leafless elms, and from the shore
Of the great sea comes the monotonous roar
Of the long-breaking surf, and all the sky
Is gray with cloud, home-bound and dull, I try
To time a simple legend to the sounds
Of winds in the woods, and waves on pebbled bounds,--
A song for oars to chime with, such as might
Be sung by tired sea-painters, who at night
Look from their hemlock camps, by quiet cove
Or beach, moon-lighted, on the waves they love.
(So hast thou looked, when level sunset lay
On the calm bosom of some Eastern bay,
And all the spray-moist rocks and waves that rolled
Up the white sand-slopes flashed with ruddy gold.)
Something it has--a flavor of the sea,
And the sea's freedom--which reminds of thee.
Its faded picture, dimly smiling down
From the blurred fresco of the ancient town,
I have not touched with warmer tints in vain,
If, in this dark, sad year, it steals one thought
from pain.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Her fingers shame the ivory keys
They dance so light along;
The bloom upon her parted lips
Is sweeter than the song.

O perfumed suitor, spare thy smiles!
Her thoughts are not of thee;
She better loves the salted wind,
The voices of the sea.

Her heart is like an outbound ship
That at its anchor swings;
The murmur of the stranded shell
Is in the song she sings.

She sings, and, smiling, hears her praise,
But dreams the while of one
Who watches from his sea-blown deck
The icebergs in the sun.

She questions all the winds that blow,
And every fog-wreath dim,
And bids the sea-birds flying north
Bear messages to him.

She speeds them with the thanks of men
He perilled life to save,
And grateful prayers like holy oil
To smooth for him the wave.

Brown Viking of the fishing-smack!
Fair toast of all the town!--
The skipper's jerkin ill beseems
The lady's silken gown!

But ne'er shall Amy Wentworth wear
For him the blush of shame
Who dares to set his manly gifts
Against her ancient name.

The stream is brightest at its spring,
And blood is not like wine;
Nor honored less than he who heirs
Is he who founds a line.

Full lightly shall the prize be won,
If love be Fortune's spur;
And never maiden stoops to him
Who lifts himself to her.

Her home is brave in Jaffrey Street,
With stately stairways worn
By feet of old Colonial knights
And ladies gentle-born.

Still green about its ample porch
The English ivy twines,
Trained back to show in English oak
The herald's carven signs.

And on her, from the wainscot old,
Ancestral faces frown,--
And this has worn the soldier's sword,
And that the judge's gown.

But, strong of will and proud as they,
She walks the gallery floor
As if she trod her sailor's deck
By stormy Labrador.

The sweetbrier blooms on Kittery-side,
And green are Elliot's bowers;
Her garden is the pebbled beach,
The mosses are her flowers.

She looks across the harbor-bar
To see the white gulls fly;
His greeting from the Northern sea
Is in their clanging cry.

She hums a song, and dreams that he,
As in its romance old,
Shall homeward ride with silken sails
And masts of beaten gold!

Oh, rank is good, and gold is fair,
And high and low mate ill;
But love has never known a law
Beyond its own sweet will!
