If You See Him

(tommy lee james, jennifer kimball, terry mcbride)
If you see him, tell him I wish him well. how am I doing? well sometimes
Its hard to tell. I still miss him more than ever. but please dont say a word.
If you see him. if you see him.
If you see her, tell her Im doing fine. and if you want to, say that I think
Of her from time to time. ask her if she ever wonders where we both went wrong.
If you see her. if you see her. I still want her.
And I still need him so.
I dont know why we let each other go.
If you see her, tell her the lights still on for her.
Nothings changed deep down the fire still burns for him. and even if
It takes forever, say Ill still be here. if you see him.
If you see her.
If you see him.
If you see her.

Goodbye lauren lee, my precious lauren lee has gone
Gone so far away now, wont be back today or tomorrow
Goodbye lauren lee, my precious lauren lee has gone out
But is he away with the fairies, is he away with me?
Take him away, its free, I play anywhere I choose
Did he get into the sequel, how is leno these days?
Take it away, cause I dont care whether we win or lose
Yeah, whether we win or lose
All my chips are down, my precious chips are almost gone
Find a better caller, dealer man without a son
Put it all on one, I feel like number one is on now
But is he away with the fairies, is he away with me?
Take him away, its free, I play anywhere I choose
Did he get into the sequel, how is leno these days?
Take it away, cause I dont care whether we win or lose
Yeah, whether we win or lose
Goodbye lauren lee, my precious lauren lee has gone out
Yeah, whether we win or lose, whether we win or lose
Yeah, whether we win or lose
But is he away with the fairies, is he away with me?
Take him away, its free, I play anywhere I choose

The Reflex (feat. Ben Lee)

Ben Lee: You've gone too far this time
Both: But I'm dancing on the Valentine
Ben Lee: I tell you somebody's fooling around
Both: With my chances on the dangerline
Both: I cross that bridge when I find it
Another day to make my stand, oh
High time is no time for deciding
If I should find a helping hand, oh
Both: So why don't you use it
Try not to bruise it
Buy time don't lose it
Both: The reflex is an only child
He's waiting in the park
The reflex is a jaw-defining
Treasure in the dark
Kylie Minogue: I'm getting off this ride
Both: But they won't slow down on the roundabout
Kylie Minogue: I sold the Renoir and the TV set
Both: Don't wanna be around when this gets out
Both: So why don't you use it
Try not to bruise it
Buy time don't lose it
Both: The reflex is an only child
He's waiting in the park
The reflex is a jaw-defining
Treasure in the dark
Both: Watching over lucky clover
Isn't that bizarre
Every little thing the reflex does
Leaves your answer with a question mark
Both: The reflex is an only child
He's waiting in the park
The reflex is a jaw-defining
Treasure in the dark
Both: Watching over lucky clover
Isn't that bizarre
Every little thing the reflex does
Leaves your answer with a question mark
Both: The reflex, what a game
He's hiding all the cards
The reflex is a jaw-defining
Treasure in the dark

Ode To Sarah Jane Smith (Doctor Who)

(This poem was inspired by the TV character, Sarah Jane Smith, played by the late Elisabeth Sladen.)

The world famous journalist, Sarah Jane Smith,
Knew that alien existence wasn’t just a myth.
She knew that the universe was utterly amazing,
But she had little time to stand around star gazing.

Helped by her three young teenage friends,
She would always win her battles in the end.
To her teenage sidekicks, she was just like a mother.
Like Sarah Jane Smith, there was definitely no other.

Her attic room was the hub of her investigations,
In her constant bid to save an unsuspecting nation.
‘Mr Smith, I need you! ’ was an exclamation which we often heard.
Her computer would appear accompanied by steam and whizzes and whirs.

Both data and objects Mr Smith would strategically analyze.
His findings would often open up Sarah Jane’s eager eyes.
Suddenly she realised the situation with which she was now faced,
And off to solve the problem, she and her friends would quickly race.

With her, she always carried a trusty gadget - her sonic lipstick.
This came in extremely handy and, with it, many a lock she did pick.
With Sarah Jane by your side, you would never come to any harm.
She would always stand her ground and keep herself very calm.

She could always detect when something wasn’t quite right,
And in her heart, she knew she was in for yet another fight.
She knew what to look for – the various tell tale signs,
And she saved our world from harm numerous times.

Even when she was captured and bound tightly with tape,
Due to her resourcefulness, she’d always manage to escape.
On many occasions, she was on the receiving end of a gun,
But she would always sweet talk her way out and then run!

Her responsibility to the human race, she did not shirk.
To her, saving the world was all just in a day’s work.
Even when she was full of fear, she wouldn’t run away.
She’d bravely battle on and live to fight another day.

She and her friends had a totally amazing time together.
She had a quick thinking mind and was extremely clever.
Sarah Jane Smith was special and truly one of a kind.
A more warm and gentle person, you will never find.

Hers was such an amazing and blessed life to lead
Her adventures were so exciting to watch and read.
Sarah Jane Smith was a worthy heroine of our time,
So I wanted to remember her forever in this rhyme.

Ol Ben Lucas

(kinky friedman)
Ol ben lucas had a lot of mucus
Comin right out of his nose.
He picked and picked till it made you sick
But back again it grows.
Well, ol ben lucas had a lot of mucus
Comin right out of his nose.
He picked and picked till it made you sick,
But back again it grows.
When its cotton picking time in texas,
Boys, its booger picking time for ben.
Hed raise that finger mean and hostile
Stick it in that waitin nostril,
Here he comes with a green one once again.
All right, pick it, eric!
Ol ben lucas had a lot of mucus
Comin right out of his nose.
He picked and picked till it made you sick,
But back again it grows.
Everybody!
Ol ben lucas had a lot of mucus
Comin right out of his nose,
He picked and picked till it made you sick
But back again it grows.

Ben Is A Knight For A Day

Full of energy and surprise
Ben had sparkles in his eyes.
He would be a knight for a day
slaying all of Razel's ice dragons totally away.
Ben is shining knight with a sword
he was great actor, never bored.
Hidden treasures of sparkly gold-
is what Ben has to find—he's been told.
For when jewels are found—
Sarah his sister can be crowned.
But only if her ice spell is broken
Ben has to find gold metallic token.
This token has the magical vibes—
-to break any ice spell given-
in Ferronian forest where fairies hide.
Ben must find Dreeka the dragon
-on his map-
he has to hurry up—
-take nothing for chance.
Ben finds Dreeka dragon in her cave
she gives Ben magical metallic token
which can totally save—
Save Sarah from a frozen plight-
Ben must unfreeze Sarah before it's night.
Now Ben of course does succeed—
he will win victory and take the lead…
Lead as the knight with the shiny
Gold metal armor-
He is knighted king now and is honored.

Black Cotton

Intro: 2Pac
Black Cotton
Black Cotton
Black Cotton- A symbol for unrewarded struggle
Time for a little gospel tail
Ghetto gospel that is- listen
Robbin' Black Cotton in God's eyes
Speak
Verse One: 2Pac
Black Cotton
Steady stressin' Smith and Wessons count my blessin's
Class is in session the worst question is the first question
Why do we work like slaves sweatin' blades to an early grave
Never got paid but still we slave (In the nine tre')
Answer that then answer this too-
Loves gonna get ya you know it's true life's a bitch true
You best to backtrack and try to act black and live
Not to be phony and positive but why be negative?
What's the matter G? Black cat got your tongue
Fat track gotcha sprung now your hung (Do ya feel me?)
Dum dum diddy is it me?
Attempt to reach each and every brother on the streets
If not peace then at least let's get a piece
I'm tired of seeing bodies on the streets- deceased
Lookin' through my highschool yearbook
Reminiscin' of the tears as the years took
One homie, two homie, three homies - POOF
We used to have troops but now there's no more youth to shoot
God come save the misbegotten
Lost ghetto souls of Black Cotton (In God's eyes)
Chorus: Eminem
Nobody don't care
(No matter how hard I try/Look to the sky/I ask God why)
Nobody don't care
(Seems like my dreams/Drowned in by screams/No answer to my questions)
Nobody don't care
(Feels like I'm pressed/Why do I stress?/It's like I'm being tested)
Nobody don't care
(Seems like my prayers/Vanish to thin air/Please answer my questions)
Nobody don't care
Kastro: Verse 3
In the belly of the beast I'm bubbling up
Running out of luck, about to self destruct
Old heads say live your life like such
Your sure to catch her witcha one day boy
I wouldn't listen to 'em
Your power movement was cool
But it ain't fix nothin'
So I just go with what i know
I dont trust none
Look what the 80's did
To what's Bebe's kids
And now we grown up
Nobody ain't own us yet
Young Noble: Verse 4
Black cotton, I'm plottin' with the holy
I'm workin' without a profit
They shacklin' all my homies
I'm hurtin' but keep the mind
it's urking the way they stop this courtains to try to (rob or rise?)
certainly we survive with Outlaw Ridas
What's the reward for a strugala
If the lord lovin' us then why they hate to see us comin' up
Runnin up, Gun cocked like nasty gloves
If you aint got a penny, mind the glove
No love
Waitin' for my 40 acas and a blunt to blaze
Biblicle times good hearts with milita minds
Black Cotton - I'm hoppin' over enemy lines
Black Cotton - I ain't stoppin' till they givin me mine

The Ballad Of Gum-Boot Ben

He was an old prospector with a vision bleared and dim.
He asked me for a grubstake, and the same I gave to him.
He hinted of a hidden trove, and when I made so bold
To question his veracity, this is the tale he told.

"I do not seek the copper streak, nor yet the yellow dust;
I am not fain for sake of gain to irk the frozen crust;
Let fellows gross find gilded dross, far other is my mark;
Oh, gentle youth, this is the truth--I go to seek the Ark.

"I prospected the Pelly bed, I prospected the White;
The Nordenscold for love of gold I piked from morn till night;
Afar and near for many a year I led the wild stampede,
Until I guessed that all my quest was vanity and greed.

"Then came I to a land I knew no man had ever seen,
A haggard land, forlornly spanned by mountains lank and lean;
The nitchies said 'twas full of dread, of smoke and fiery breath,
And no man dare put foot in there for fear of pain and death.

"But I was made all unafraid, so, careless and alone,
Day after day I made my way into that land unknown;
Night after night by camp-fire light I crouched in lonely thought;
Oh, gentle youth, this is the truth--I knew not what I sought.

"I rose at dawn; I wandered on. 'Tis somewhat fine and grand
To be alone and hold your own in God's vast awesome land;
Come woe or weal, 'tis fine to feel a hundred miles between
The trails you dare and pathways where the feet of men have been.

"And so it fell on me a spell of wander-lust was cast.
The land was still and strange and chill, and cavernous and vast;
And sad and dead, and dull as lead, the valleys sought the snows;
And far and wide on every side the ashen peaks arose.

"The moon was like a silent spike that pierced the sky right through;
The small stars popped and winked and hopped in vastitudes of blue;
And unto me for company came creatures of the shade,
And formed in rings and whispered things that made me half afraid.

"And strange though be, 'twas borne on me that land had lived of old,
And men had crept and slain and slept where now they toiled for gold;
Through jungles dim the mammoth grim had sought the oozy fen,
And on his track, all bent of back, had crawled the hairy men.

"And furthermore, strange deeds of yore in this dead place were done.
They haunted me, as wild and free I roamed from sun to sun;
Until I came where sudden flame uplit a terraced height,
A regnant peak that seemed to seek the coronal of night.

"I scaled the peak; my heart was weak, yet on and on I pressed.
Skyward I strained until I gained its dazzling silver crest;
And there I found, with all around a world supine and stark,
Swept clean of snow, a flat plateau, and on it lay--the Ark.

"Yes, there, I knew, by two and two the beasts did disembark,
And so in haste I ran and traced in letters on the Ark
My human name--Ben Smith's the same. And now I want to float
A syndicate to haul and freight to town that noble boat."

I met him later in a bar and made a gay remark
Anent an ancient miner and an option on the Ark.
He gazed at me reproachfully, as only topers can;
But what he said I can't repeat--he was a bad old man.

Parson Turell’s Legacy

OR, THE PRESIDENT'S OLD ARM-CHAIR

A MATHEMATICAL STORY

FACTS respecting an old arm-chair.
At Cambridge. Is kept in the College there.
Seems but little the worse for wear.
That 's remarkable when I say
It was old in President Holyoke's day.
(One of his boys, perhaps you know,
Died, _at one hundred_, years ago.)
He took lodgings for rain or shine
Under green bed-clothes in '69.

Know old Cambridge? Hope you do.--
Born there? Don't say so! I was, too.
(Born in a house with a gambrel-roof,--
Standing still, if you must have proof.--
'Gambrel?--Gambrel?'--Let me beg
You'll look at a horse's hinder leg,--
First great angle above the hoof,--
That 's the gambrel; hence gambrel-roof.)
Nicest place that ever was seen,--
Colleges red and Common green,
Sidewalks brownish with trees between.
Sweetest spot beneath the skies
When the canker-worms don't rise,--
When the dust, that sometimes flies
Into your mouth and ears and eyes,
In a quiet slumber lies,
_Not_ in the shape of umbaked pies
Such as barefoot children prize.

A kind of harbor it seems to be,
Facing the flow of a boundless sea.
Rows of gray old Tutors stand
Ranged like rocks above the sand;
Rolling beneath them, soft and green,
Breaks the tide of bright sixteen,--
One wave, two waves, three waves, four,--
Sliding up the sparkling floor.

Then it ebbs to flow no more,
Wandering off from shore to shore
With its freight of golden ore!
Pleasant place for boys to play;--
Better keep your girls away;
Hearts get rolled as pebbles do
Which countless fingering waves pursue,
And every classic beach is strown
With heart-shaped pebbles of blood-red stone.

But this is neither here nor there;
I'm talking about an old arm-chair.
You 've heard, no doubt, of PARSON TURELL?
Over at Medford he used to dwell;
Married one of the Mathers' folk;
Got with his wife a chair of oak,--
Funny old chair with seat like wedge,
Sharp behind and broad front edge,--
One of the oddest of human things,
Turned all over with knobs and rings,--
But heavy, and wide, and deep, and grand,--
Fit for the worthies of the land,--
Chief Justice Sewall a cause to try in,
Or Cotton Mather to sit--and lie--in.
Parson Turell bequeathed the same
To a certain student,--SMITH by name;
These were the terms, as we are told:
'Saide Smith saide Chaire to have and holde;
When he doth graduate, then to passe
To ye oldest Youth in ye Senior Classe.
On payment of '--(naming a certain sum)--
'By him to whom ye Chaire shall come;
He to ye oldest Senior next,
And soe forever,'--(thus runs the text,)--
'But one Crown lesse then he gave to claime,
That being his Debte for use of same.'
Smith transferred it to one of the BROWNS,
And took his money,--five silver crowns.
Brown delivered it up to MOORE,
Who paid, it is plain, not five, but four.
Moore made over the chair to LEE,
Who gave him crowns of silver three.
Lee conveyed it unto DREW,
And now the payment, of course, was two.
Drew gave up the chair to DUNN,--
All he got, as you see, was one.
Dunn released the chair to HALL,
And got by the bargain no crown at all.
And now it passed to a second BROWN,
Who took it and likewise claimed a crown.
When Brown conveyed it unto WARE,
Having had one crown, to make it fair,
He paid him two crowns to take the chair;
And Ware, being honest, (as all Wares be,)
He paid one POTTER, who took it, three.
Four got ROBINSON; five got Dix;
JOHNSON primus demanded six;
And so the sum kept gathering still
Till after the battle of Bunker's Hill.

When paper money became so cheap,
Folks would n't count it, but said 'a heap,'
A certain RICHARDS,--the books declare,--
(A. M. in '90? I've looked with care
Through the Triennial,--name not there,)--
This person, Richards, was offered then
Eightscore pounds, but would have ten;
Nine, I think, was the sum he took,--
Not quite certain,--but see the book.
By and by the wars were still,
But nothing had altered the Parson's will.
The old arm-chair was solid yet,
But saddled with such a monstrous debt!
Things grew quite too bad to bear,
Paying such sums to get rid of the chair
But dead men's fingers hold awful tight,
And there was the will in black and white,
Plain enough for a child to spell.
What should be done no man could tell,
For the chair was a kind of nightmare curse,
And every season but made it worse.

As a last resort, to clear the doubt,
They got old GOVERNOR HANCOCK out.
The Governor came with his Lighthorse Troop
And his mounted truckmen, all cock-a-hoop;
Halberds glittered and colors flew,
French horns whinnied and trumpets blew,
The yellow fifes whistled between their teeth,
And the bumble-bee bass-drums boomed beneath;
So he rode with all his band,
Till the President met him, cap in hand.
The Governor 'hefted' the crowns, and said,--
'A will is a will, and the Parson's dead.'
The Governor hefted the crowns. Said he,--
'There is your p'int. And here 's my fee.

'These are the terms you must fulfil,--
On such conditions I BREAK THE WILL!'
The Governor mentioned what these should be.
(Just wait a minute and then you 'll see.)
The President prayed. Then all was still,
And the Governor rose and BROKE THE WILL!
'About those conditions?' Well, now you go
And do as I tell you, and then you'll know.
Once a year, on Commencement day,
If you 'll only take the pains to stay,
You'll see the President in the CHAIR,
Likewise the Governor sitting there.
The President rises; both old and young
May hear his speech in a foreign tongue,
The meaning whereof, as lawyers swear,
Is this: Can I keep this old arm-chair?
And then his Excellency bows,
As much as to say that he allows.
The Vice-Gub. next is called by name;
He bows like t' other, which means the same.
And all the officers round 'em bow,
As much as to say that they allow.
And a lot of parchments about the chair
Are handed to witnesses then and there,
And then the lawyers hold it clear
That the chair is safe for another year.

God bless you, Gentlemen! Learn to give
Money to colleges while you live.
Don't be silly and think you'll try
To bother the colleges, when you die,
With codicil this, and codicil that,
That Knowledge may starve while Law grows fat;
For there never was pitcher that wouldn't spill,
And there's always a flaw in a donkey's will!
