I Dont Believe In Miracles

Written by russ ballard, 1980
Found on alibi.
I walk along the road and past your door
Then I remember things you said
I know in time we couldve been so much more
But if you wanna come back home, go right ahead
But I dont believe in miracles
I dont believe in miracles
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace to tell me where you are
I believe I was your game, your ball (your ball)
If you tossed me up then I would fall
And so youve won again, ah, you win them all
But I believe Id run to you, if you should call
But I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace to tell me where you are (tell me where you are)
I believe that somewhere theres someone
Whos gonna light the way when things go wrong
The bullet that shot me down came from your gun
The words that turned me round were from your song
But I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace to tell me where you are (tell me where you are)
But I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace to tell me where you are

Yours

You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
Tender love's what you're giving me and
You surpass all my fantasies and
I keep thanking the Lord above for
Blessing me with oh so much
Cause I know how it feels to be
part of you boy
Everyday of my life's so abundant
With joy
And I honestly never thought love
could be real
until the angels guided you to me
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
Lying with you so natural
I never knew this was possible
And it finally feels like my life has begun
now that I can share it with someone
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
Baby our love will always persevere
Anything you ever need,
You know I'll be right here and
You don't have to worry boy
I won't betray your trust
Because I'm so much in love
Every time your lips meet mine
It still feels like the first time
And if you lost everything
I'd keep on standing by your side
And boy it seems like everyday
I fall deeper in love
Because I can't get enough
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky

Amigone

Everytime you point your finger
Three more point right back at you
I'm not sayin' that it's something wrong with life
'Cause that's a sad excuse

And age old game of rat and mouse
Chasin' us from house to house
I'm not sayin' that there's something wrong with you
It's wrong with me as well

Are you alive
Amigone (...Miracles gone wrong)
Is it to call and tell you to be strong
Are you alive
Amigone (...Miracles gone wrong)
Was the poison in our love there all along
Amigone

Heavenly intoxication
Love's been marred by medication
Ain't it funny how a life can take a turn
When the end is near

Are you alive
Amigone (...Miracles gone wrong)
Is it too late to call and tell you to be strong
Are you alive
Amigone (...Miracles gone wrong)
Is it too late to face the truth that it was wrong
Amigone

I'm not sayin' that it's something
I'm not gonna play along
I'm not wishin' for a miracle
That miracle's gone wrong
And you're too strong

Amigone (...Miracles gone wrong)
Is it too late to call and tell you to be strong
Are you alive
Amigone (...It's there all along)
Was the poison in our love there all along
Are you alive
Amigone (...Miracles gone wrong)
Is it too late to call and tell you to be strong
Are you alive
Amigone (...It's there all along)
Was the poison in our love there all along

Miracles

Album: One-Armed Bandit
Track: 06
Some of us dont even know
Most of us dont even try
Do you believe its there
Do you believe its coming back
I do
My dreams are drifting to the shore
Sometimes they just slip away
But I believe its there
I believe its coming back again
So what, I believe in miracles
Oh yeah there is nothing that brings me down
So what, I believe in miracles
Oh yeah there is nothing that brings me down
down
down
Some of us dont even know
Most of us dont even try
Do you believe its there
Do you believe its coming back again
Do you believe its there
Do you believe its coming back again
So what, I believe in miracles
Oh yeah there is nothing that brings me down
So what, I believe in miracles
Oh yeah there is nothing that brings me down
So what, I believe in miracles
Oh yeah there is nothing that brings me down
So what, I believe in miracles
Oh yeah there is nothing that brings me down
down
down
down
And Im down on the floor
And theres no one to help
I just say to myself
When you die
you die
alone

Miracle

A Child was born
What happiness!
Mother too tired
Still in pain
But what's that? ! Hey!
Child in good health!
That is the Miracle!
Nothing of shame..

Beautiful Angel
First breast feeding
First glance, first smile
Frst call, first step!
All these are blessing
Memories that warms
Even the coldest heart
Lights any face!
That are the Miracles!
Nothing of shame..

But what about
Hardest times
When Child is
Sick and doesnt eat
Soo many worries:
Guess the cry
Is Child in danger?
Hurt? ..How? ..Why?
Your heart jumps out..
But when the child's
Getting safe, all right
That's Happiness! !
Nothing of shame..

Years past by
I'm afraid
The Child has gone
You find yourself alone
Can't, but remember
Everyday and smile of
Past Miracles!
Nothing of shame..

Worries still there
But not the same
Now find yourself
asking and wondering
Is the Big Child ok,
not hungry! ?
Does Child's heart happy?

When You Believe

- s. schwartz - babyface -
Wh:
Many nights we pray
With no proof anyone could hear
And our hearts a hopeful song
We barely understand
Now we are not afraid
Although we know theres much to fear
We were moving mountains long
Before we know we could
Oah yes
There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail
Its hard to kill
Who know what miracle
You can achieve
When you believe
Somehow you will
You will when you believe
Mc:
In this time of fear
When prayer so often proves in vain
Hope seems like the summer birds
Too swiftly flown away
And now I am standing here
My hearts so full I cant explain
Seeking faith and speaking words
I never thought Id say
There can be miracles
When you believe
(wh: when you believe)
Though hope is frail
Its hard to kill
Who know what miraclea
You can achieve
(wh: you can achieve)
When you believe
Somehow you will
You will when you believe
Both:
They dont always happen when you ask
And its easy to give in to your fear
Ohhhhh
But when youre blinded by your pain
Cant see you way safe through the rain
Thought of a still resilient voice
Says love is very near
There can be miracles
(wh: miracles)

A Smile Like Yours

Hmm, thought Id seen everything there was to see in this world
Now Im not so sure Ive really seen anything at all
I thought life could show me no surprises
And then you came and showed me I was wrong
I have seen the bluest skies, rainbows that would make you cry
I have seen miracles that moved my soul, days that changed my life
I have seen the brightest stars shine like diamonds in the dark
Seen all the wonders of the world, but Ive never seen a smile
As beautiful as yours, ooh, ooh, ooh, oh, I thought Id been everywhere
Ive climbed a mountain so high, sailed the sea, crossed the sky
And still I was nowhere at all, until that day, oh, you came to my senses
And your smile, it made sense out of it all, (I have seen the bluest skies)
Rainbows that would make you cry, I have seen miracles
(miracles that moved me soul) that moved my soul, days that changed my life,
I have seen the brightest stars shine like diamonds in the dark
Seen all the wonders of the world, but Ive never seen a smile as beautiful as yours
(smile so beautiful) so beautiful, comes one time in a lifetime
A smile this beautiful, (a smile this beautiful) Ive never dreamed Id ever see, oh
(I have seen the bluest skies) I have seen it, (rainbows that would make you cry)
That would make you cry, Ive seen miracles (miracles) moved my soul,
(days that changed my life) and days that changed my life
I have seen the brightest stars shine like diamonds in the dark
Oh, Ive seen the wonders of this world (wonders of the world)
But Ive never seen a smile (never seen a smile before as beautiful as yours)
Oh, Ive never seen a smile before, (never seen a smile before as beautiful)
As beautiful as yours.

Miracles

Clouds drift away
when they see you
Rain wouldn't dare
to fall near you here
Miracles happen
when you're around
Somehow the grass is much greener
Rivers flow faster and cleaner
Being with you
no matter where
sunlight breaks through
and suddenly there's
A bluer sky
whenever you're around
You always bring
a bluer sky
a brighter day
Thunder is silent before you
Roses bloom more to adore you too
Miracles happen
when you're around
The sunset is deeper and longer
The scent of the jasmine is stronger
Stray dogs don't bite
Birds start to sing
Lightening daren't strike
You suddenly bring
A bluer sky
whenever you're around
You always bring
a bluer sky
a brighter day
Birds fly
even higher in the sky
Sun shines
It's a new day
Being with you
no matter where
sunlight breaks through
and suddenly there's
A bluer sky
whenever you're around
You always bring
a bluer sky
a brighter day
(Miracles happen)
Birds fly
even higher in the sky
(Miracles happen)
Sun shines

The Motown Song

(larry john mcnally)
Bring over some of your old motown records
Well put the speakers in the window and well go
On the roof and listen to the miracles
Echo to the alley down below
Lets dance together just for the night
Lets dont worry about the future or nothin else
cause just like the musics sayin you gotta take chances
Go ahead just do it and trust yourself
Theres a soul in the city
Watching over us tonight
Theres a soul in the city
Saying everythings gonna be all right
So bring over some of your old motown records
Well put the speakers in the window and well go
On the roof and listen to the miracles
Echo to the alley down below
They wish us luck
But they think were just dreaming
Lets prove them wrong baby
cause you know what luck is
Luck is believing youre lucky
Thats all and showing just a little bit of faith
Theres a soul in the city
Watching over us I swear
Theres a soul in the city
Theres a whole world waiting out there
Listen
I got plans for us
Playing like a skip on a record
Through my head all night long
But when we walk that darkened stairway
And step out on the roof
I know what were feeling cant be wrong
Bring over some of your old motown records
Well put the speakers in the window and well go
On the roof and listen to the miracles
Echo to the alley down below
Bring over some of your old motown records
Well put the speakers in the window and well go
On the roof and listen to the miracles
Echo to the alley down below
let the temptations sing it one time
Bring over some of you old motown records
Well put the speakers in the window and well go
On the roof and listen to the miracles
Echo to the alley down below

Little Miracles

Two thousand years ago a man was born
Raised, and praised.
Little did anyone see- that he would
Change mans history.
Many miracles were created while he lived
To this world he had so much to give.

Miracles still happen to this day
And to him we do pray.
Little miracles here and there
That with the world we do share.

A person who walked away from a car on fire
Only thing left was a burning tire.
An abandoned newborn found on a frozen street
How he survived without any heat.
A single engine plane crashed into the ground
Two hundred feet away the pilot is found.

9/11 was a disastrous day
But we had people who had walked away.
People buried in a caved in mine
All were found and are doing fine.

These are the miracles of which I speak
They may not have been of astounding feats.
Unlike the parting of the waters
Where the Jews walked through in an uncivil disorder.
All of them were shedding some tears
But GOD wiped away all their fears.

In every country in the world
There are miracles happening every day.
Is it GODS hand? Who is to say!
But with FAITH, LOVE, and HOPE
People accept it and learn to cope.

Annihilation

From dehumanization to arms production,
For the benefit of the nation or its destruction
Power, power, the law of the land,
Those living for death will die by their own hand,
Life's no ordeal if you come to terms,
Reject the system dictating the norms
From dehumanization to arms production,
To hasten the nation towards its destruction
Power, power, the law of the land,
Those living for death will die by their own hand,
Life's no ordeal if you come to terms,
Reject the system dictating the norms
From dehumanization to arms production,
To hasten the nation towards its destruction
Power, power, the law of the land,
Those living for death will die by their own hand,
Life's no ordeal if you come to terms,
Reject the system dictating the norms
From dehumanization to arms production,
To hasten this nation towards its destruction,
It's your choice, your choice, your choice, your choice,
Peace or annihilation

Miracles

If only you believe like I believe, baby
Wed get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby
So would i
If only you believe like I believe, baby
Wed get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby
So would i.
I might have to move heaven and earth to prove
It to you, baby
So were makin love and you feel the power
And I feel the power
Then theres really nothing that we cant do
If we wanted to, baby
We could exist on the stars
Itd be so easy
All we gotta do
Is get a little faith in you
Oh, Ive been (to) so many places
Ive seen some things
I know, love is the answer
Keeps holding this world together
Aint nothing better
Aint nothing better
And all the answers to our prayers
Hell , its the same everywheres, baby
Nothing ever breaks up the heart
Only tears give you away
Then youre right where I found ya
With my arms around ya
Oh baby, baby, baby, love is a magic word, yeah
Few ever find in a lifetime
But from that very first look in your eyes
I knew you and I had but one heart
Only our bodies were apart
That was so easy, so easy
I had a taste of the real world
When I went down on you, girl.
If only you believe like I believe, baby
Wed get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby
So would i
If only you believe like I believe, baby
Wed get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby
So would i.
I can hear windmills and rainbows
Whenever youre talkin to me
I feel like swirling and dancin
Whenever youre walking with me

Man Of Miracles

Written by james young, raymond brandle, dennis deyoung
Lead vocals by james young
He was a man of miracles
Fighting the solar windstorm
A winged horse guides his way
Oracle of the ancient midnight
Calls forth everlasting pain
And I know, yes I know
He was a man of miracles
Riding golden meteorites
Ruler of distant galaxies
Born of the northern lights
Of the northern lights
Sorcerer of the dark moon
Who dare incur his rage?
First child of the scorpion
Prophet of the crystal age
And I know, yes I know
He was a man of miracles
Riding golden meteorites
Ruler of distant galaxies
Born of the northern lights
Of the northern lights
He was a man of miracles

’Tis Time For More Miracles, Yet!

When fervent prayers had been said,
For days and weeks or years, perhaps,
And seasons too had changed for good,
’Tis time for more miracles, yet!

When mind had kept the heart in check,
Inhibiting the members well,
And heeded to the conscience first,
’Tis time for more miracles, yet!

When life was Jesus Christ-centered,
And word of God directed life,
And grace afilled the soul made pure,
’Tis time for more miracles, yet!

When storms in life had come and gone,
And Satan’s methods turned futile,
And war with devils had been won,
’Tis time for more miracles, yet!

I Saw It Myself (Short Verse Drama)

Dramatis Personae: Adrian, his wife Ester, his sisters Rebecca and Johanna, his mother Elizabeth, the high priest Chiapas, the disciple Simon Peter, the disciple John, Mary Magdalene, worshipers, priests, two angels and Jesus Christ.

Act I

Scene I.- Adrian’s house in Jerusalem. Adrian has just returned home after a business journey in Galilee, in time to attend the Passover feast. He sits at the table with his wife Ester and his sisters, Rebecca and Johanna. It’s just before sunset on the Friday afternoon.

Adrian. (Somewhat puzzled) Strange things are happening,
some say demons dwell upon the earth,
others angelic beings, miracles take place
and all of this when they had put a man to death,
had crucified a criminal. Everybody knows
the cross is used for degenerates only!

Rebecca. (With a pleasant voice) Such harsh words used,
for a good, a great man brother?
They say that without charge
he healed the sick, brought back sight,
cured leprosy, even made some more food,
from a few fishes and loafs of bread…

Adrian. (Somewhat harsh) They say many things!
That he rode into Jerusalem
to be crowned as the new king,
was a rebel against the state,
even claimed to be
the very Son of God,
now that is blasphemy
if there is no truth to it!

Johanna. I met him once.
He’s not the man
that you make him, brother.
There was a strange tranquilly to Him.
Some would say a divine presence,
while He spoke of love that is selfless,
visited the sick, the poor
and even the destitute, even harlots.

Adrian. (Looks up) There you have it!
Harlots! Tax collecting thieves!
A man is know by his friends,
or so they say and probably
there is some truth to it.

Ester. Husband, do not be so quick to judge.
I have seen Him myself, have seen
Roman soldiers marching Him to the hill
to take His life, with a angry crowd
following and mocking Him.

John Dryden

Threnodia Augustalis: A Funeral Pindaric Poem, Sacred To The Happy Memory Of King Charles II.

I.
Thus long my grief has kept me dumb:
Sure there's a lethargy in mighty woe,
Tears stand congealed, and cannot flow;
And the sad soul retires into her inmost room:
Tears, for a stroke foreseen, afford relief;
But, unprovided for a sudden blow,
Like Niobe, we marble grow,
And petrify with grief.
Our British heaven was all serene,
No threatening cloud was nigh,
Not the least wrinkle to deform the sky;
We lived as unconcerned and happily
As the first age in nature's golden scene;
Supine amidst our flowing store,
We slept securely, and we dreamt of more;
When suddenly the thunder-clap was heard,
It took us, unprepared, and out of guard,
Already lost before we feared.
The amazing news of Charles at once were spread,
At once the general voice declared,
“Our gracious prince was dead.”
No sickness known before, no slow disease,
To soften grief by just degrees;
But, like a hurricane on Indian seas,
The tempest rose;
An unexpected burst of woes.
With scarce a breathing space betwixt,
This now becalmed, and perishing the next.
As if great Atlas from his height
Should sink beneath his heavenly weight,
And, with a mighty flaw, the flaming wall,
As once it shall,
Should gape immense, and, rushing down, o'erwhelm this nether ball;
So swift and so surprising was our fear:
Our Atlas fell indeed; but Hercules was near.

II.
His pious brother, sure the best
Who ever bore that name,
Was newly risen from his rest,
And, with a fervent flame,
His usual morning vows had just addressed,
For his dear sovereign's health;
And hoped to have them heard,
In long increase of years,
In honour, fame, and wealth:
Guiltless of greatness, thus he always prayed,
Nor knew nor wished those vows he made,
On his own head should be repaid.

Our Miracles

OUR MIRACLES

it is a miracle
when we wake up in the morning
with a smile to greet the morning sunrise
no matter our worries
and can end the day with a ray of hope
to bid goodbye to sunset
knowing that you have a great Provider
it is the miracle of life

you are not alone
you have the miracle of friendship,
love and working together
this is the greatest miracle
the miracle we take for granted

people who are humble,
who listen and forgive
looking at things and taking a fresh perspective
these are our miracles
the miracle of reconciliation

miracles happen everyday
you'll meet them everywhere
just look at the brighter side of life
and know that God is on your side
these are our miracles
the miracle of God's boundless and selfless love

Miracles

WHY! who makes much of a miracle?
As to me, I know of nothing else but miracles,
Whether I walk the streets of Manhattan,
Or dart my sight over the roofs of houses toward the sky,
Or wade with naked feet along the beach, just in the edge of the
water,
Or stand under trees in the woods,
Or talk by day with any one I love--or sleep in the bed at night with
any one I love,
Or sit at table at dinner with my mother,
Or look at strangers opposite me riding in the car,
Or watch honey-bees busy around the hive, of a summer forenoon, 10
Or animals feeding in the fields,
Or birds--or the wonderfulness of insects in the air,
Or the wonderfulness of the sun-down--or of stars shining so quiet
and bright,
Or the exquisite, delicate, thin curve of the new moon in spring;
Or whether I go among those I like best, and that like me best--
mechanics, boatmen, farmers,
Or among the savans--or to the soiree--or to the opera,
Or stand a long while looking at the movements of machinery,
Or behold children at their sports,
Or the admirable sight of the perfect old man, or the perfect old
woman,
Or the sick in hospitals, or the dead carried to burial, 20
Or my own eyes and figure in the glass;
These, with the rest, one and all, are to me miracles,
The whole referring--yet each distinct, and in its place.

To me, every hour of the light and dark is a miracle,
Every cubic inch of space is a miracle,
Every square yard of the surface of the earth is spread with the
same,
Every foot of the interior swarms with the same;
Every spear of grass--the frames, limbs, organs, of men and women,
and all that concerns them,
All these to me are unspeakably perfect miracles.

To me the sea is a continual miracle; 30
The fishes that swim--the rocks--the motion of the waves--the ships,
with men in them,
What stranger miracles are there?
