When we have 'second thoughts' about something, our first thoughts don't seem like thoughts at all - just feelings.

No No No (Can't Come Back)

Last night woke in bed
In a cold cold sweat so sweaty so funky
Dreamin of bad things to be or not to be
Haunting things like homelessness all the lonely people
Without a job car or food to eat
Leaves you a little bit paranoid well well
Can you spare a dime
But it reminds me how easily
We let our fears affect who we are
No no no cant come back
No bad feelings no no no
No sad feelings no no no
No jealous feelings no no no
No insecure feelings
No no no cant come back
No ill feelings no no no
No jealous feelings no no no
No ego trippin no no no
No insecure feelings
No no no cant come back
Had a friend in desperate need
Of a little attention compassion you see
Did I mention that friend was me nope
Whod just broken up from a love affair well well well well
I must admit I was truly hurt
And I couldnt change the facts and thats a fact
He loves her more than he loves me
And its truly just as simple as that
No no no cant come back
No bad feelings no no no

Dont listen to them anyway

Hard Feelings

Written by billy burnette and jeff silbar.
Now Im supposed to understand
Dont you think youre asking too much
What kind of fool do you think I am
Dont you think youve hurt me enough
Still you want to be friends
But I dont want to be just friends
So before you start with your sympathy
Just turn around and go
And if he breaks your heart, dont come crying to me
I wont be there anymore
Go ahead and cry your tears
cause Im not gonna dry your tears
Ive got hard feelings
When it comes to you and me
And these hard feelings
Just wont let me be
These hard feelings run deep
These hard feelings run deep
Ill be alright, dont you worry about me
Ill take care of myself
The first thing I need is you out of my life
The last thing I need is your help
Sorry I met you
Sorry I met you
I will forget you, someday
Ive got hard feelings
When it comes to you and me
And these hard feelings
Just wont let me be
These hard feelings run deep
These hard feelings run deep
Ive got hard feelings
When it comes to you and me
And these hard feelings
Just wont let me be
These hard feelings run deep
These hard feelings
Hard feelings
When it comes to you and me
And these hard feelings
Just wont let me be

THEY ARE POETS TOO, You are a poet!

THEY ARE POETS TOO, You are a poet!

THOSE who misspell
And those who are still coping up
With their metaphors
The techniques
Of rhyme & beat
Those who think
They do not
Know how to
Write poetry
And those
Who fear
What to say
What to write
What the others say
About their poetry
And those that doubt
Their writing
Abilities
Their thoughts

Their feelings
Their feelings
Their feelings
Yes
Yes
Their feelings

Or those who simply
Fear that they may only
Be displeasing
And disappointing

And those whose
Sense of confidence
About this thing
This poetry
This poem thing
Those that still
Hide what they
Feel to what they
Think

Is prose

Those who think that
Their life
Is not worth

Carry Out Feelings

Nazareth
Im not just something you can pick up or put down
Entertainment value, like some circus clown
Dont give green stamps
With my emotions
Donthave a cut price soul
Dont do,
Carry out feelings
Or take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Dont have the kind of heart
You reap and you take away
Keep in your cold store to use at some future date
Dont give a refund on my emotions
No discounting on my soul
Dont do,
Carry out feelings
Or, take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Carry out feelings
And take away love
Im not just someone you can pick up and throw away
Someone to join you in arecycled love affair
Dont give green stamps with my emotions
Donthave a cut price soul
Dont do,
Carry out feelings
Or take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love

Lonely Traveler...

I see the lonely traveler,
Why is he so quiet?
Maybe he's in passion,
Maybe he's in fear,
Maybe sheer happiness,
Something to control in silence,
Without telling anyone...

To walk through the jungle trees,
Stare, climb and then sing,
A song, one happy, scary, so heartfelt,
I started to cry,
A mixture of feelings,
Something to divine to share,
Only with the invisible shadows,
That travel with him...

But I followed him,
For no real reason at all,
His gentle side as well as fierce side,
All in one,
All in control,
But still he walks alone,
Never to be confronted,
The Highwaymen fear him,
And those people are fearless,
Stealing money, for that you have to be...

But still, people kept away,
From this man, who sang his heart out,
Fear, despair, the quality of happiness,
This lonely traveler meant,
He spoke in a gentle voice,
When taken aback he changed his tone,
Rapidly to say,
He played his guitar on and off,
Sang to it, played to it,
Until he once met a cat,
No ordinary cat though,
A cat like him,
With feelings...

He understood,
Placed his loneliness away,
For he then took the cat,
Stroked it, Matured it, made it Free,
From the bounds of its old master,
He now only had his bag,
His guitar and many other
Instruments he picked up along the way,

Canto the Third

I.

Is thy face like thy mother’s, my fair child!
Ada! sole daughter of my house and heart?
When last I saw thy young blue eyes, they smiled,
And then we parted, - not as now we part,
But with a hope. -
Awaking with a start,
The waters heave around me; and on high
The winds lift up their voices: I depart,
Whither I know not; but the hour’s gone by,
When Albion’s lessening shores could grieve or glad mine eye.

II.

Once more upon the waters! yet once more!
And the waves bound beneath me as a steed
That knows his rider. Welcome to their roar!
Swift be their guidance, wheresoe’er it lead!
Though the strained mast should quiver as a reed,
And the rent canvas fluttering strew the gale,
Still must I on; for I am as a weed,
Flung from the rock, on Ocean’s foam, to sail
Where’er the surge may sweep, the tempest’s breath prevail.

III.

In my youth’s summer I did sing of One,
The wandering outlaw of his own dark mind;
Again I seize the theme, then but begun,
And bear it with me, as the rushing wind
Bears the cloud onwards: in that tale I find
The furrows of long thought, and dried-up tears,
Which, ebbing, leave a sterile track behind,
O’er which all heavily the journeying years
Plod the last sands of life - where not a flower appears.

IV.

Since my young days of passion - joy, or pain,
Perchance my heart and harp have lost a string,
And both may jar: it may be, that in vain
I would essay as I have sung to sing.
Yet, though a dreary strain, to this I cling,
So that it wean me from the weary dream
Of selfish grief or gladness - so it fling
Forgetfulness around me - it shall seem
To me, though to none else, a not ungrateful theme.

V.

Yesterday's Feelings

Close my eyes and move to the back of my mind
Where worries are washed out to sea
See the changes, people's faces blurred out
Like the sun spots or raindrops
Now all those feelings, those yesterdays feelings will all be lost in time
but today I've wasted away for today is on my mind
Left the only worries I had in my hands
Away from the light in my eyes
Holding tight and try not to hide how I feel
'Cause feelings mean nothing now
All those feelings, those yesterdays feelings will all be lost in time
but today I've wasted away for today is on my mind
(yeah today is on my mind)
Now I can't care to worry
I'm feeling so lonely
Breaking apart all this love in my heart
Close my eyes and move to the back of my mind
Where feelings mean nothing now
All those feelings, those yesterdays feelings will all be lost in time (all be lost in time)
But today I've wasted away for today is on my mind
for today is on my mind
yeah today is on my mind
Now I can't care to worry
I'm feeling so lonely
Breaking apart all this love in my heart

To You Whom I Love More Than Myself (Sonnet Redoublé)

I

You to whom my feelings are obvious,
may God guide you
(even if I am being presumptuous)
through every day, keeping you true,

in everything grant all that’s good,
make you sure
in every day, temper every mood
great and pure

and may He be in everything
that you put your hand to,
giving His greatest blessing,
may you be excelling in all that you do;

once I saw you jolly and free,
I saw you long-legged wading into the sea

II

I saw you long-legged wading into the sea
the epitome of youthfulness,
with no frivolity
and you were deadly serious without meekness

entering as if approaching a holy living thing
leaving the shallows you were going in deep
and it was if you were searching for something,
something from the deep beyond that you could keep

and not going to plunder, but were hunting for a holy relic
something with great wonder,
not to hang around your neck like a charm or some garlic
not made by man, or from the elements like thunder:

I watched you searching for something beyond man’s affairs,
from our lounge chairs.

III

From our lounge chairs
across from the fireplace
there was passion on your face
and it was sweet sincerity without putting on airs

where we were living out our lives, our own affairs
with depth and sweetness in every embrace
with love and true grace

I've Got Them Inside

I've got them inside.
Those feelings.
Feelings wanting to be outside.
To show,
I know.
What resides,
Inside.

I've got them inside.
Those feelings.
Feelings wanting to be outside.
To show,
I know...
I can no longer deny,
Or keep them hidden so deep...
In me.

And all of my life I knew how to ride,
Emotions....
Flowing.
And all of my life I felt desire...
Building like a fire,
Yearning.

I've got them inside.
Those feelings.
Feelings wanting to be outside.
To show,
I know.
What resides,
Inside.

And all of my life I knew how to ride,
Emotions....
Flowing.
And all of my life I felt desire...
Building like a fire,
Yearning.

I've got them inside.

I can no longer deny,

My Lost Youth

Often I think of the beautiful town
That is seated by the sea;
Often in thought go up and down
The pleasant streets of that dear old town,
And my youth comes back to me.
And a verse of a Lapland song
Is haunting my memory still:
"A boy's will is the wind's will,
And the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts."

I can see the shadowy lines of its trees,
And catch, in sudden gleams,
The sheen of the far-surrounding seas,
And islands that were the Hesperides
Of all my boyish dreams.
And the burden of that old song,
It murmurs and whispers still:
"A boy's will is the wind's will,
And the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts."

I remember the black wharves and the ships,
And the sea-tides tossing free;
And Spanish sailors with bearded lips,
And the beauty and mystery of the ships,
And the magic of the sea.
And the voice of that wayward song
Is singing and saying still:
"A boy's will is the wind's will,
And the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts."

I remember the bulwarks by the shore,
And the fort upon the hill;
The sunrise gun, with its hollow roar,
The drum-beat repeated o'er and o'er,
And the bugle wild and shrill.
And the music of that old song
Throbs in my memory still:
"A boy's will is the wind's will,
And the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts."

I remember the sea-fight far away,
How it thundered o'er the tide!
And the dead captains, as they lay
In their graves, o'erlooking the tranquil bay
Where they in battle died.
And the sound of that mournful song
Goes through me with a thrill:
"A boy's will is the wind's will,
And the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts."

My Thoughts

Thought in the eyes,
The ears.
Thought in mind,
The brain,
Thought in heart,
The soul.

Great thought is great
when it becomes great deeds.
With my thoughts within
Building my world within

Learning with thought;
Is great learning wisdom.
Learning without thought,
Is opportunity lost.

Thought for others
Thought for God
Thought for good
Thought for God’s blessing

Thoughts teach me,
Thoughts educate me,
Thoughts clarify me,
Thoughts enlighten me.

Thoughts make me wise
Thoughts make me patience
Thoughts make me trust others
Thoughts make me clam.

Thoughts before act
Is smart and wise
Act before thoughts
Is stupid and foolish

That’s my thoughts
They make thinking clear
They make belief deepen
They make confidence high.

In thoughts, my world
In my world, make my thoughts.
In thoughts, my words
In my words, make my speech

It’s my thoughts count
Counting my thoughts
To endless counting thoughts

Tale XVI

THE CONFIDANT.

Anna was young and lovely--in her eye
The glance of beauty, in her cheek the dye:
Her shape was slender, and her features small,
But graceful, easy, unaffected all:
The liveliest tints her youthful face disclosed;
There beauty sparkled, and there health reposed;
For the pure blood that flush'd that rosy cheek
Spoke what the heart forbade the tongue to speak,
And told the feelings of that heart as well,
Nay, with more candour than the tongue could tell.
Though this fair lass had with the wealthy dwelt,
Yet like the damsel of the cot she felt;
And, at the distant hint or dark surmise,
The blood into the mantling cheek would rise.
Now Anna's station frequent terrors wrought,
In one whose looks were with such meaning fraught,
For on a Lady, as an humble friend,
It was her painful office to attend.
Her duties here were of the usual kind -
And some the body harass'd, some the mind:
Billets she wrote, and tender stories read,
To make the Lady sleepy in her bed;
She play'd at whist, but with inferior skill,
And heard the summons as a call to drill;
Music was ever pleasant till she play'd
At a request that no request convey'd;
The Lady's tales with anxious looks she heard,
For she must witness what her Friend averr'd;
The Lady's taste she must in all approve,
Hate whom she hated, whom she lov'd must love;
These, with the various duties of her place,
With care she studied, and perform'd with grace:
She veil'd her troubles in a mask of ease,
And show'd her pleasure was a power to please.
Such were the damsel's duties: she was poor -
Above a servant, but with service more:
Men on her face with careless freedom gaz'd,
Nor thought how painful was the glow they raised.
A wealthy few to gain her favour tried,
But not the favour of a grateful bride;
They spoke their purpose with an easy air,
That shamed and frighten'd the dependent fair;
Past time she view'd, the passing time to cheat,
But nothing found to make the present sweet:
With pensive soul she read life's future page,
And saw dependent, poor, repining age.
But who shall dare t'assert what years may

Tale XIX

THE CONVERT.

Some to our Hero have a hero's name
Denied, because no father's he could claim;
Nor could his mother with precision state
A full fair claim to her certificate;
On her own word the marriage must depend -
A point she was not eager to defend:
But who, without a father's name, can raise
His own so high, deserves the greater praise;
The less advantage to the strife he brought,
The greater wonders has his prowess wrought;
He who depends upon his wind and limbs,
Needs neither cork nor bladder when he swims;
Nor will by empty breath be puff'd along,
As not himself--but in his helpers--strong.
Suffice it then, our Hero's name was clear,
For call John Dighton, and he answer'd 'Here!'
But who that name in early life assign'd
He never found, he never tried to find:
Whether his kindred were to John disgrace,
Or John to them, is a disputed case;
His infant state owed nothing to their care -
His mind neglected, and his body bare;
All his success must on himself depend,
He had no money, counsel, guide, or friend;
But in a market-town an active boy
Appear'd, and sought in various ways employ;
Who soon, thus cast upon the world, began
To show the talents of a thriving man.
With spirit high John learn'd the world to

brave,
And in both senses was a ready knave;
Knave as of old obedient, keen, and quick,
Knave as of present, skill'd to shift and trick;
Some humble part of many trades he caught,
He for the builder and the painter wrought;
For serving-maids on secret errands ran,
The waiter's helper, and the ostler's man;
And when he chanced (oft chanced he) place to lose,
His varying genius shone in blacking shoes:
A midnight fisher by the pond he stood,
Assistant poacher, he o'erlook'd the wood;
At an election John's impartial mind
Was to no cause nor candidate confined;
To all in turn he full allegiance swore,
And in his hat the various badges bore:
His liberal soul with every sect agreed,
Unheard their reasons, he received their creed:

Cooktails And Parties

Cocktails and parties
Watch you
Take the floor
You move like no one I have ever seen
Ever seen before
A crush would be all right
But it's a bit more than that
You're with her
And baby she's with you
And yet I know it is all that
Say dreams are dreams alone
And I'll stay on my own
I will not let you near the feelings I may have
(You don't see the feelings that I have)
Say dreams are for the night
And I'll forget to lie
I'll hide this heart and never let you see inside
(No, you'll never have to see me sad)
They say that love at first sight
Does not exist
They say that you're over me
But I don't agree
With this
They say some things that seem to
Fill my head
Baby all I want's to hear someone say
It's so good I'm here instead
Say dreams are dreams alone
And I'll stay on my own
I will not let you near the feelings I may have
(You don't see the feelings that I have)
Say dreams are for the night
And I'll forget to lie
I'll hide this heart and never let you see inside
(No, you'll never have to see me sad)
And if there's something that you need
A way to change your mind
If you'd only come to talk to me
Tell me what you want
I can do anything you like
Anything you like, baby
Cocktails and parties
Watch you
Take the floor
You move like no one I have ever seen
Ever seen before
Say dreams are dreams alone
And I'll stay on my own
I will not let you near the feelings I may have
(You don't see the feelings that I have)

They say that love at first sight
Does not exist
They say that youre over me
But I dont agree
With this
They say some things that seem to
Fill my head
Baby all I wants to hear someone say
Its so good Im here instead
Say dreams are dreams alone
And Ill stay on my own
I will not let you near the feelings I may have
(you dont see the feelings that I have)
Say dreams are for the night
And Ill forget to lie
Ill hide this heart and never let you see inside
(no, youll never have to see me sad)
And if theres something that you need
A way to change your mind
If youd only come to talk to me
Tell me what you want
I can do anything you like
Anything you like, baby
Cocktails and parties
Watch you
Take the floor
You move like no one I have ever seen
Ever seen before
Say dreams are dreams alone
And Ill stay on my own
I will not let you near the feelings I may have
(you dont see the feelings that I have)
