Are You Ready?

Are you ready?
Action boy now
Action girl now
Be prepared to climb another mountain
Are you ready?
Action boy now
Action girl now
Be prepared to swim across the ocean
Are you ready?
Be prepared
To fill you plate
Be prepared
Dont hesitate
Be prepared
For a great big bust
Be prepared
To do what you must
Be prepared
To take a hit
Be prepared
To go for it
Be prepared
For a sneak attack
Be prepared
Just dont look back
They say, where theres a will theres a way
Weve heard, these are the things that they say
So.
Reach out for that big fat star
Stick to the groove
And go real far
Outrun the ones who steal the abar (? ? )
Are you ready?
Action boy now
Action girl now
Be prepared to blast into the future
Action boy now
Action girl now
Be prepared to rearrange the picture
Are you ready?

It Had to Come to Us This Way

It had to come to us this way.
Unexpected love.
It had to find us unprepared.
Unexpected love.
We did not know it had us picked.
When unexpected love,
Came to visit.

It had to come to us this way.
Unexpected love.
It had to find us unprepared.
Willing to accept,
How it crept upon us.
When all we felt was tried.
Staring in clear skies,
Sometimes for that 'one'.
That someone special to us to come.
And when it is done...
We become stunned.
It is familiar.
As if it begins where it 'had' begun!

It had to come to us this way.
Unexpected love.
Expecting it returned.
As it is to feed what is yearned.
Connecting two hearts burning!

When all we felt was tried,
Unexpected love...
Comes out of hiding!
It had to come to us this way.
If it had not...
We would find reasons,
To chase it away!
And that is why,
It had to come to us
This way...
Finding us in a receptive display,
And giving without thought to run.
Hoping love like this did come,
To stay!

It had to come to us this way,
Unexpected love...
Seldom drifts or fades!

Cymon And Iphigenia. From Boccace

Old as I am, for lady's love unfit,
The power of beauty I remember yet,
Which once inflamed my soul, and still inspires my wit.
If love be folly, the severe divine;
Has felt that folly, though he censures mine;
Pollutes the pleasures of a chaste embrace,
Acts what I write, and propagates in grace,
With riotous excess, a priestly race.
Suppose him free, and that I forge the offence,
He showed the way, perverting first my sense:
In malice witty, and with venom fraught,
He makes me speak the things I never thought.
Compute the gains of his ungoverned zeal;
Ill suits his cloth the praise of railing well.
The world will think that what we loosely write,
Though now arraigned, he read with some delight;
Because he seems to chew the end again,
When his broad comment makes the text too plain,
And teaches more in one explaining page
Than all the double meanings of the stage.

What needs he paraphrase on what we mean?
We were at worst but wanton; he's obscene.
I nor my fellows nor my self excuse;
But Love's the subject of the comic Muse;
Nor can we write without, nor would you
A tale of only dry instruction view.
Nor love is always of a vicious kind,
But oft to virtuous acts inflames the mind,
Awakes the sleepy vigour of the soul,
And, brushing o'er, adds motion to the pool.
Love, studious how to please, improves our parts
With polished manners, and adorns with arts.
Love first invented verse, and formed the rhyme,
The motion measured, harmonized the chime;
To liberal acts enlarged the narrow-souled,
Softened the fierce, and made the coward bold;
The world, when waste, he peopled with increase,
And warring nations reconciled in peace.
Ormond, the first, and all the fair may find,
In this one legend to their fame designed,
When beauty fires the blood, how love exalts the mind.
In that sweet isle, where Venus keeps her court,
And every grace, and all the loves, resort;
Where either sex is formed of softer earth,
And takes the bent of pleasure from their birth;
There lived a Cyprian lord, above the rest
Wise, wealthy, with a numerous issue blest.

But, as no gift of fortune is sincere,

Sigismond And Guiscardo. From Boccace

While Norman Tancred in Salerno reigned,
The title of a gracious Prince he gained;
Till turned a tyrant in his latter days,
He lost the lustre of his former praise,
And from the bright meridian where he stood
Descending dipped his hands in lovers' blood.

This Prince, of Fortune's favour long possessed,
Yet was with one fair daughter only blessed;
And blessed he might have been with her alone,
But oh! how much more happy had he none!
She was his care, his hope, and his delight,
Most in his thought, and ever in his sight:
Next, nay beyond his life, he held her dear;
She lived by him, and now he lived in her.
For this, when ripe for marriage, he delayed
Her nuptial bands, and kept her long a maid,
As envying any else should share a part
Of what was his, and claiming all her heart.
At length, as public decency required,
And all his vassals eagerly desired,
With mind averse, he rather underwent
His people's will than gave his own consent.
So was she torn, as from a lover's side,
And made, almost in his despite, a bride.

Short were her marriage joys; for in the prime
Of youth, her lord expired before his time;
And to her father's court in little space
Restored anew, she held a higher place;
More loved, and more exalted into grace.
This Princess, fresh and young, and fair and wise,
The worshipped idol of her father's eyes,
Did all her sex in every grace exceed,
And had more wit beside than women need.

Youth, health, and ease, and most an amorous mind,
To second nuptials had her thoughts inclined;
And former joys had left a secret string behind.
But, prodigal in every other grant,
Her sire left unsupplied her only want,
And she, betwixt her modesty and pride,
Her wishes, which she could not help, would hide.

Resolved at last to lose no longer time,
And yet to please her self without a crime,
She cast her eyes around the court, to find
A worthy subject suiting to her mind,
To him in holy nuptials to be tied,
A seeming widow, and a secret bride.

See Thru

No apology necessary shut your mouth
Youve closed your mind
Weve been walking this road forever
It dont lead to paradise
In the mirror your sad reflection haunting you
Now I see mine
Yes I see mine
And you just dont get it
But you just might regret it, you might regret it
Shooting the rainbows from the sky
Throwing your love to passers by
Begging forgiveness for your crime
Never prepared to do your time
Its always them and never you
cause youre so see thru, I see thru you
(cause youre so see thru)
Aint no use in demanding justice
Youre a victim of your sight
I held you up when your heart was heavy
Now you never give me mine
In the mirror my sad reflection haunting me
One more time, one more time
And you just dont get it, do ya?
But you just might regret it, yeah yeah yeah yeah
Shooting the rainbows from the sky
Throwing your love to passers by
Begging forgiveness for your crime
Never prepared to do your time
Its always them and never you
cause youre so see thru, I see thru you
(cause youre so see thru)
Shooting the rainbows from the sky
Throwing your love to passers by
Begging forgiveness for your crime
Never prepared to do your time
Its always them and never you
Boy youre so see thru, I see thru you
(cause youre so see thru)
You just dont get it, no you just dont get it
You just dont get it but you might regret it
You might regret it
Shooting the rainbows from the sky
Throwing your love to passers by
Begging forgiveness for your crime
Never prepared to do your time
Its always them and never you
cause youre so see thru, I see thru you
(cause youre so see thru)
Shooting the rainbows from the sky - youre so see thru
Throwing your love to passers by

Bring You Down To Hell

The demons are coming after you
In the night ready to fight
Always cruel with hate in their mind
Promise you that they will get you
You're trying to hide with fear in your eyes
Hoping that nobody see's you
If they should know where you are
I'm sure that they will torture you
I hope that you, you are prepared
Take all the weapons you can
If you are not ready to fight
I'll think that you'd better run
When you're walking in the night
You should always be prepared
They can strike right here right now
And bring you down to Hell
to Hell
You're running away with no place to stay
The demons can almost reach you
You hear that someone is shouting your name
You think for yourself what you should do
You're trying to hide with fear in your eyes
Hoping that nobody see's you
If they should know where you are
I'm sure that they will torture you
I hope that you, you are prepared
Take all the weapons you can
If you are not ready to fight
I'll think you'd better run
When you're walking in the night
You should always be prepared
They can strike right here right now
And bring you down to Hell
to Hell
When you're walking in the night
You should always be prepared
They can strike right here right now
And bring you down to Hell
I hope that you, you are prepared
Take all the weapons you can
If you are not ready to fight
I'll think you'd better run
When you're walking in the night
You should always be prepared
They can strike right here right now
And bring you down to Hell
to Hell

Be Prepared (Fun Poem 93)

Be prepared; be prepared,
that statement does not apply
to anyone in the British Government.
They are never prepared
except for grabbing taxes;
they are prepared for that, yes.
To keep the country running,
they are never prepared for that.
A couple of inches of snow
and they are running around like headless chickens
wondering just what to do.
They ignore the weather warnings
and end up with egg on their faces.
It is obvious they were never in the Boy Scouts.
Now the Scouts are always prepared.
They keep a condom in their wallet
in case any frisky Girl Guide should pass their way.
Unlike the British Government
who has to apologise for their lack of for-thought,
when they knew it would snow.

Running All Day

I see him on TV and everyday you can see me
getting more wound up by the fact that he's loved
You dont know who he is, I was once that kid
Fans screaming my name but now there not.
And I know who's to blame.
He took it all from me everything that I own
Left me with nothing broke and unknown
If theres one thing I know im gonna take it all back
The gloves are off and anyway that I can
rip him down from ontop of that thrown
Then we'll see whos really unknown
standing toe to toe he doesn; 't stand a chance
He's gonna learn the hard way what it means to be a man.

Running all day
Gunning all night
Be prepared to give your own life.
Running all day
Gunning all night
Be prepared to take another mans life.

Knocked down once, get up again
Knocked down twice see the other man dead.
Led to war by the skin of our teeth
Friends and enemies share the same seats.
They're sweet together cos they know what its like
To live this life that takes you by suprise.
Anytime, day or night, priority one just to stay alive.

And that's what you just cant see
The fact that your just not me
You cant ask questions bout living this life, only ones that know already those that died.

Running all day
Gunning all night
Be prepared to give your own life.
Running all day
Gunning all night
Be prepared to take another mans life.

But this is it no place left to go
your gonna hand it back everything that you stole
and now we're patiently gonna wait and see
what the world has to say bout you and me
If they'll take you side after all this time
and believe the lies that you drove inside
but I still have faith that its not a dead end race

The Course Of Time. Book X.

God of my fathers! holy, just, and good!
My God! my Father! my unfailing Hope!
Jehovah! let the incense of my praise,
Accepted, burn before thy mercy seat,
And in thy presence burn both day and night.
Maker! Preserver! my Redeemer! God!
Whom have I in the heavens but Thee alone?
On earth, but Thee, whom should I praise, whom love?
For Thou hast brought me hitherto, upheld
By thy omnipotence; and from thy grace,
Unbought, unmerited, though not unsought—
The wells of thy salvation, hast refreshed
My spirit, watering it, at morn and even!
And by thy Spirit, which thou freely givest
To whom thou wilt, hast led my venturous song,
Over the vale, and mountain tract, the light
And shade of man; into the burning deep
Descending now, and now circling the mount,
Where highest sits Divinity enthroned;
Rolling along the tide of fluent thought,
The tide of moral, natural, divine;
Gazing on past, and present, and again,
On rapid pinion borne, outstripping Time,
In long excursion, wandering through the groves
Unfading, and the endless avenues,
That shade the landscape of eternity;
And talking there with holy angels met,
And future men, in glorious vision seen!
Nor unrewarded have I watched at night,
And heard the drowsy sound of neighbouring sleep;
New thought, new imagery, new scenes of bliss
And glory, unrehearsed by mortal tongue,
Which, unrevealed, I trembling, turned and left,
Bursting at once upon my ravished eye,
With joy unspeakable, have filled my soul,
And made my cup run over with delight;
Though in my face, the blasts of adverse winds,
While boldly circumnavigating man,
Winds seeming adverse, though perhaps not so,
Have beat severely; disregarded beat,
When I behind me heard the voice of God,
And his propitious Spirit say,—Fear not.
God of my fathers! ever present God!
This offering more inspire, sustain, accept;
Highest, if numbers answer to the theme;
Best answering if thy Spirit dictate most.
Jehovah! breathe upon my soul; my heart
Enlarge; my faith increase; increase my hope;
My thoughts exalt; my fancy sanctify,
And all my passions, that I near thy throne

Palamon And Arcite; Or, The Knight's Tale. From Chaucer. In Three Books. Book III.

The day approached when Fortune should decide
The important enterprise, and give the bride;
For now the rivals round the world had sought,
And each his number, well appointed, brought.
The nations far and near contend in choice,
And send the flower of war by public voice;
That after or before were never known
Such chiefs, as each an army seemed alone:
Beside the champions, all of high degree,
Who knighthood loved, and deeds of chivalry,
Thronged to the lists, and envied to behold
The names of others, not their own, enrolled.
Nor seems it strange; for every noble knight
Who loves the fair, and is endued with might,
In such a quarrel would be proud to fight.
There breathes not scarce a man on British ground
(An isle for love and arms of old renowned)
But would have sold his life to purchase fame,
To Palamon or Arcite sent his name;
And had the land selected of the best,
Half had come hence, and let the world provide the rest.
A hundred knights with Palamon there came,
Approved in fight, and men of mighty name;
Their arms were several, as their nations were,
But furnished all alike with sword and spear.

Some wore coat armour, imitating scale,
And next their skins were stubborn shirts of mail;
Some wore a breastplate and a light juppon,
Their horses clothed with rich caparison;
Some for defence would leathern bucklers use
Of folded hides, and others shields of Pruce.
One hung a pole-axe at his saddle-bow,
And one a heavy mace to stun the foe;
One for his legs and knees provided well,
With jambeux armed, and double plates of steel;
This on his helmet wore a lady's glove,
And that a sleeve embroidered by his love.

With Palamon above the rest in place,
Lycurgus came, the surly king of Thrace;
Black was his beard, and manly was his face
The balls of his broad eyes rolled in his head,
And glared betwixt a yellow and a red;
He looked a lion with a gloomy stare,
And o'er his eyebrows hung his matted hair;
Big-boned and large of limbs, with sinews strong,
Broad-shouldered, and his arms were round and long.
Four milk-white bulls (the Thracian use of old)
Were yoked to draw his car of burnished gold.

Expect the unexpected

Expect the unexpected
I may give up trying
But not today that’s for sure

Expect the unexpected
I may lose my nerve
But not today that’s for sure

Expect the unexpected
I may cry loud
But not today that’s for sure

Expect the unexpected
I may end this game
But not today that’s for sure

Unexpected

I was talking to you on the phone for very long on, which makes me happy because
It been two years since I heard your voice
It's not same without you here
You are living in Orlando to go college
I can't wait to see you soon when you come done for Thanksgiving break
Unexpected
I change to a bad girl by sneaking out of house after you text that you want to see me
I have so much mixed emotions, and I don't know how I feel right now
As I was walking down the street in the middle of the night, you call me and my heart start beating fast
You stop your car right in front of me, so you can come out to hug me and it all feels so right
You sitting in your car, holding my hand, smiling way you do, and looking me in my eyes as we talk
I forget how mad I was
When we talk and catch up about our life, it makes me realized how much you have change
I feel like nothing could go wrong
Then we drove around to have time of our life
I rather be there with you and no one else
We did crazy things in the car and act like no one else is around
We finally park somewhere quiet and ten minutes later we have fight about stupid stuff
That made me walks away from you in the first place
You drove me home and few words were spoken
Unexpected
You said wait when I about to leave because you want a hug and I was confused
It's really over or it wasn't?
The next day, I talk to my friend who I haven't heard in awhile
She found out that you were lying to me
You are back with your ex and cheating on her with me
I can't believe you lied to me
How can I ever trust you again?
Tell me that you never cheat and is your friend's cousin who does it
You will never change
You always be that guy who breaks my heart
I never want to speak to you or never ever want to see you again
I though give you a second change means that everything will be different this time
It wasn't and always going be way I left
I am one putting all the effort to give us another try, but
Unexpected
You won't do the same and said you want to, and lied again
I am being strong and not crying for someone who doesn't care for me
I have to go and get off your train
All I have left of you is smell you left on my clothes when you hug me

Unexpected Things...

It's unexpected..
But it's something that causes you to catch your breath..
Make you sway
Perhaps it makes your pupils dilate..
The look of his fingers as they dance on a keyboard..
Those hands are unexpectedly
Somehow
Attractive
She imagines them on her..
And, a blush creeps to her cheeks
Making her flush
Making her warm
An unexpected glance at her flesh..
Her shirt lifts as she reaches up to adjust something too high...
It's that area at the small of her back
Near her side
And,
His eyes linger..
Tracing her form
While she is unarmed in her lack of awareness
He can't help himself..
Even that small glimpse
Leaves his throat dry
Makes his hand twitch
To touch..
Even a fleeting touch
Is that asking for too much?
Lips
What can one say..
When they are full
And
Beautiful
And inviting
And so soft..
She bites her lower lip all the time
She imagines her lips
Dancing on his..
He thinks he'd like to be the one to
Bite
See what her lips taste like
Her collar bone..
He imagines his lips there
His tongue tracing the perfect arch
To the dip at her throat..
Her eyes
They grow bigger at the site of him
Surprised
It's not a controlled reaction
Heartbeats accelerate
His neck..

The Ancient Banner

In boundless mercy, the Redeemer left,
The bosom of his Father, and assumed
A servant's form, though he had reigned a king,
In realms of glory, ere the worlds were made,
Or the creating words, 'Let there be light'
In heaven were uttered. But though veiled in flesh,
His Deity and his Omnipotence,
Were manifest in miracles. Disease
Fled at his bidding, and the buried dead
Rose from the sepulchre, reanimate,
At his command, or, on the passing bier
Sat upright, when he touched it. But he came,
Not for this only, but to introduce
A glorious dispensation, in the place
Of types and shadows of the Jewish code.
Upon the mount, and round Jerusalem,
He taught a purer, and a holier law,—
His everlasting Gospel, which is yet
To fill the earth with gladness; for all climes
Shall feel its influence, and shall own its power.
He came to suffer, as a sacrifice
Acceptable to God. The sins of all
Were laid upon Him, when in agony
He bowed upon the cross. The temple's veil
Was rent asunder, and the mighty rocks,
Trembled, as the incarnate Deity,
By his atoning blood, opened that door,
Through which the soul, can have communion with
Its great Creator; and when purified,
From all defilements, find acceptance too,
Where it can finally partake of all
The joys of His salvation.
But the pure Church he planted,—the pure Church
Which his apostles watered,—and for which,
The blood of countless martyrs freely flowed,
In Roman Amphitheatres,—on racks,—
And in the dungeon's gloom,—this blessed Church,
Which grew in suffering, when it overspread
Surrounding nations, lost its purity.
Its truth was hidden, and its light obscured
By gross corruption, and idolatry.
As things of worship, it had images,
And even painted canvas was adored.
It had a head and bishop, but this head
Was not the Saviour, but the Pope of Rome.
Religion was a traffic. Men defiled,
Professed to pardon sin, and even sell,
The joys of heaven for money,—and to raise
Souls out of darkness to eternal light,
For paltry silver lavished upon them.

Who Referees?

I don't know if I am ready or not.
And what would I not be ready for...
If I were to be ready?

And then there are those,
Who say they're always prepared.
If it doesn't come,
Whatever they are prepared for...
What would be the purpose to stay prepared?

'Just in case! '

Just in case?
Just in case of what?
Someone discovering,
They are a descendant of Mother Goose?
And the shoe they all lived in...
Was found to sit on an oil field?
And they have inherited wealth?

I don't know if I am ready or not.
And what would I not be ready for...
If I were to be ready?

I was told as a child to always do my best.
Because you never know...
What's going to happen.
And have clean underwear on!

The clean underwear I understand.
The rest of that I don't!
What's going to happen?
An 'accident'?
Well...
There goes the clean underwear theory!

What would be the purpose to stay prepared?
For whose benefit?
And when you are ready to deliver...
Will what you have prepared,
Be suitable for anyone's taste that is declared?
Suppose you know you have been ready.
And 'they' don't care how much you 'suppose'.
Who referees?

Bell's Palsy I Penned stroke on stroke penned - Optimistic In...Sight

Bell's Palsy I

December turns November's page.
Assumptions artificial,
priorities age must regauge
of ease so superficial
the tenets, try to disengage
from palsy interstitial,
periphery extend sans rage
ineptly hit-and-missile.
Paralysis as passing stage
perceived though prejudicial
as challenge met we trust will wage
war on clock lock official,
ensuring both for sot and sage
return to strength initial...

II

Bell’s Palsy II – Number Seven Optic Nerve

Number seven optic nerve, now numb,
taken for granted, normally ignored,
leaves facial features slanted. Voice, not dumb,
answers questions with weak monochord.
Flesh elastic flaccid has become,
control relinquished, hanging on a word.
Vision peripheral blurred. Though rule of thumb
Provides for time-line, faculties restored,
Frustration, hope, play hide-and-seek, mind glum,
stares awry at some lop-sided smile. Record
of former glory plays back yet stays mum.
May this as an example serve, health granted
For future learning curve can’t be transplanted.

Bell's Palsy XIV - Dew Diligence

Bell's Palsy XIV - Dew Diligence

Dew diligence when eyelid is denied
control of wink, when blink becomes a feat
beyond the ken of mice and men, conceit
melts to humility, while cares abide.
Heartbeat accelerates to concide
with worry, movements taken for a ride
by malady haphazard striking fleet.
Fixed expression canvas could complete
as flexibility falls to one side,
focus reduced, no longer far and wide,
too close for comfort, wanders off the beat.
Pride, knocked for skittles, cannot make ends meet,
patience, once praised, stays stage-struck, sorely tried.
Fixed interest stocks soar, gilt lining’s sought
to train too slack to credit outlook taut.

Bell's Palsy XV - Dissymmetry

Confusion from confusion must adjust
to face tomorrow’s out of kilter grin
with humour ‘til the specialists non-plussed
seize on season’s reason, find win-win
solution to an accident now cussed
in no uncertain terms as worms begin
to lay their weight on current state where lust
must bridled be, - who’d seek as kith and kin
one open eye, one which retains unfussed
perspective, lacks control of muscle spin
to twin both sides in unison true, just.
Dissymmetry becomes a moral gin
and handicap self-efident, untrussed
is optic nerve from verse which would begin
to laugh at luck, continue tongue in cheek
to find new way to strength transformed from weak.

Bell's Palsy XVI - To Test Frontiers

Inertia catalyzes swift reaction
testing limits unbeknownst before,
experienced elsewhere, though, we ignore
discomforts which might hamper freedom, action.
Impervious to muscular contraction,
left eyelid, lip, unable are to draw
lines which smile, frown designed, while vision poor
interferes, and adds unsought distraction.
In health, free from nervous petrifaction
few seek out illness, won’t by choice explore
the options close to those that chance, gene flaw
or accident are trapped, lose speech, sight, traction.
Fresh emphasis on disabilities
should top the list of our priorities.
