Among the world elite there are a handful of athletes who are physically capable of winning it.

Up By Two Possessions
Up by two possessions,
In a heated competing session.
And the hope is to reach to the goal,
To keep...
A winning told.
And keep...
That winning bold.
You can't let moss grow under your feet!
And keep...
A winning told.
You can't stay satisfied and sleep!
And keep...
That winning bold.
You must push alibis aside!
To keep...
A winning told.
And sacrifice with a drive inside!
To keep...
A winning told.
And keep...
That winning bold.
Up by two possessions,
In a heated competing session.
And the hope is to reach to the goal,

All I can hear is another year pass me by.
They pass me by.
They pass underneath you know theres nothing to see here, except ten bridges.
They pass underneath you know theres nothing to see here, except ten bridges.
Coz when you're winning you're charming,
you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming, it wont...
You might have noticed that i've fallen down on the road,
It could happen to anyone, I know.
They pass underneath you know theres nothing to see here, except ten bridges.
They pass underneath you know theres nothing to see here, except ten bridges.
Coz when you're winning you're charming,
you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming, it wont...
You're winning you're charming,
coz when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming,
coz when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming.

Epigraph
I slew the Hydra, and from labour pass'd
To labour — tribes of labours! Till, at last,
Attempting one more labour, in a trice,
Alack, with ills I crowned the edifice.
You have seen better days, dear? So have I —
And worse too, for they brought no such bud-mouth
As yours to lisp "You wish you knew me!" Well,
Wise men, 't is said, have sometimes wished the same,
And wished and had their trouble for their pains.
Suppose my Œdipus should lurk at last
Under a pork-pie hat and crinoline,
And, latish, pounce on Sphynx in Leicester Square?
Or likelier, what if Sphynx in wise old age,
Grown sick of snapping foolish people's heads,
And jealous for her riddle's proper rede, —
Jealous that the good trick which served the turn
Have justice rendered it, nor class one day
With friend Home's stilts and tongs and medium-ware,—
What if the once redoubted Sphynx, I say,
(Because night draws on, and the sands increase,
And desert-whispers grow a prophecy)
Tell all to Corinth of her own accord.
Bright Corinth, not dull Thebes, for Lais' sake,
Who finds me hardly grey, and likes my nose,
And thinks a man of sixty at the prime?
Good! It shall be! Revealment of myself!
But listen, for we must co-operate;
I don't drink tea: permit me the cigar!
First, how to make the matter plain, of course —
What was the law by which I lived. Let 's see:
Ay, we must take one instant of my life
Spent sitting by your side in this neat room:
Watch well the way I use it, and don't laugh!
Here's paper on the table, pen and ink:
Give me the soiled bit — not the pretty rose!
See! having sat an hour, I'm rested now,
Therefore want work: and spy no better work
For eye and hand and mind that guides them both,
During this instant, than to draw my pen
From blot One — thus — up, up to blot Two — thus —
Which I at last reach, thus, and here's my line
Five inches long and tolerably straight:

The Winning Side
Its the winning side
And everybodys cheering for the winning side
And the children leave their homes to join the winning side
And when jesus comes hell march on with the winning side
And weve got all the right answers on the winning side
And the guiding light
Whether wrong or right
And we have no fear
No we have no fear
Waiting for the sign
We will give our lives
We will give our lives
And I feel so isolated
Its so lonely here at night
I could almost feel you near me
I imagine that youre with me
On the winning side
We dont ask too many questions on the winning side
And Ive got this strange sensation on the winning side
I dont recognize the faces of the winning side
And we all live here in cages . . .
Someone cried last night
And it made a sound
With my eyes closed tight
I hear everything
I can hear your voice
When I kiss the ground
When I kiss the ground
And Id like to know you better
And Id like to know your name
I could really show you something
If you give me half a chance
cuz Im on the winning side
(winning side)
In the sleepless night
When the blindness comes
Washing over me
Like a giant wave
On a sandless beach
Washing over me
I am proud to be . . .
And Id like to take you somewhere
That youve never been before
And I feel so isolated
And I feel so all alone
Here on the winning side
(and I feel so all alone)

Handful Of Dust
Your pressed your face against my heart
I felt that you could look right through me
We live in days that have no time
We live in times that now refuse me
And somewhere out beyond his town
There lies a world that now can turn us round
And we need it and we need it
Oh got to have some thing to believe in
Ive got enough to believe in you
What can I give just to know that its true ?
But Ive gotta begin to say
Now theyve taken my pride in this way.
How can you give me your love ?
I just cant give you enough
How can you give me your trust
With a handful of dust ?
I feel to thin before your eyes
I feel so naked under open skies
I once stood tall within this town
But now the time has come to bring us down.
We must have more with his power in hand
We must believe things will go as we planned
But Ive gotta begin to say
Now theyve taken my pride in this way.
How can you give me your love ?
I just cant give you enough
How can you give me your trust
With a handful of dust,
With a handful of dust ?
Making love through electric skies
Now I know where my fortune lies
Breathe the air and feel this land
cause its slipping through me
Like dust from my hand.
How can you give me your love ?
I just cant give you enough
How can you give me your trust
With a handful of dust ?
How can you give me your love ?
I just cant give you enough
How can you give me your trust
With a handful of dust ?
How can you give me your love ?
How can you give me your love ?
Now give me your love!
How can you give me your trust
With a handful of dust ?
How can you give me your love ?
Give me
How can you give me your trust

A Handful Of Pain
(m - kusch l -deris)
I believe what we called a game
Is more than just a handful of pain
I still remember every hour
Every second has been hours
Far away from many burden
We met eyes without a curtain
Headless into a new sensation
Wether brain nor fear of patience
Careless we had a game to play
You crossed my way for twenty days
Why dont you just heal
The yearning that I feel?
Hey, what we called a game
Is more than just a handful of pain
We got the wrong ways
Cause I believe its more
Than just a handful of pain
We got the wrong ways
Cause I believe its more
Than just a handful of pain
Were different colours, diferent nature
Both we weer like pupil and teacher
Its a puzzle with two pieces
Still not done cause one still misses
Helpless I go through unknown stages
A chapter of life which has missing pages
Torture not owly phisical
It pains unbound, way way down
The yearning that I feel?
Hey, I believe what we called a game
Is more than just a handful of pain
We got the wrong ways
Cause I believe its more
Than just a handful of pain
We got the wrong ways
Cause I believe its more
Than just a handful of pain

Ladder Of Success
Now the race has begun
You are strong and you are young
Its your choice, its up to you
Be good to us and well be good to you
And you will be rewarded for conforming to our plan
The system will accept you because we understand
Youll be up there with us on the pinnacle of success
Winning, climbing on the ladder of success
Why take less, now youre on the ladder of success
Now weve reached the end of another school year
And those of you who are leaving us
We wish you well in your chosen careers
I see you got a job with a well established firm
Youll be earning a 3 pound 10 shillings a week
Plus luncheon vouchers
Well my boy it looks as though youre heading
Straight for the top
And your efforts will be noted
But you must always compete
Stick it out the skys the limit
And youll be part of the elite
Youll be up there with us
Competing with the best
Achieving, winning on the ladder of success
Make commitment, join our team
Now youre really in the thing
Part of the plan, dont make a fuss
Play the game and youll be one of us
And your efforts will be noted
Youll be part of the elite
Pay your money make your choice now
Your commitment is complete
Now youre up there with us
Competing with the best
Achieving, winning on the ladder of success
Stand in line, join the queue
Play the game with the right attitude
Now you played your reputation
Theres so much that you can lose
What a struggle to get up there
Youve really paid your dues
Now youre up there with us on the pinnacle of success
Still youre climbing on the ladder of success
Now youre up there with us
Competing with the best
Winning, climbing on the ladder of success
On the ladder of success
Achieving, winning on the ladder of success

Little Brother
How you gonna say what you can and cant do,
Sitting in the crib, parked in front of the tube.
Youre mad at the world like she owe you,
What you think opportunitys gonna come looking for you?
Not a damn thing changed.
Youre just another football waiting to be tossed in the game.
Youre flossing again,
You talk a good game, but youre still trying hard to maintain.
Little brother, a ship cant sail without the water.
The world could be yours if you want her,
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Everyday youre out slinging that thing.
No worries or cares of what your mama may say.
Trying to get what you want in your life.
The cars, the clothes, the hos, the ice.
Not a damn thing changed.
Youre still another football waiting to be tossed in the game.
Youre flossing again,
You talk a good game,
But youre still struggling hard to maintain.
Little brother, a ship cant sail without the water, no.
The world could be yours if you want her,
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Little brother, no, a ship cant sail without the water.
The world could be yours if you want her,
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Everything you want could be yours if you were just to try.
All the troubles that you feel will fade away like shooting stars across the sky.
All the dreams I hope you feel soon, someday, shall be fulfilled.
Time is moving rapidly.
Dont let it pass you by, yeah.
Little brother, a ship cant sail without the water, no.
The world could be yours (world is yours) if you want her, (world is yours)
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Little brother, no,
A ship (you know we gotta love one another now) cant sail without the water.
The world could be yours (world is yours) if you want her, (world is ours)
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Little brother, a ship cant sail without the water, no.
The world could be yours if you want her (the world is yours),
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.

Satan Absolved
(In the antechamber of Heaven. Satan walks alone. Angels in groups conversing.)
Satan. To--day is the Lord's ``day.'' Once more on His good pleasure
I, the Heresiarch, wait and pace these halls at leisure
Among the Orthodox, the unfallen Sons of God.
How sweet in truth Heaven is, its floors of sandal wood,
Its old--world furniture, its linen long in press,
Its incense, mummeries, flowers, its scent of holiness!
Each house has its own smell. The smell of Heaven to me
Intoxicates and haunts,--and hurts. Who would not be
God's liveried servant here, the slave of His behest,
Rather than reign outside? I like good things the best,
Fair things, things innocent; and gladly, if He willed,
Would enter His Saints' kingdom--even as a little child.
[Laughs. I have come to make my peace, to crave a full amaun,
Peace, pardon, reconcilement, truce to our daggers--drawn,
Which have so long distraught the fair wise Universe,
An end to my rebellion and the mortal curse
Of always evil--doing. He will mayhap agree
I was less wholly wrong about Humanity
The day I dared to warn His wisdom of that flaw.
It was at least the truth, the whole truth, I foresaw
When He must needs create that simian ``in His own
Image and likeness.'' Faugh! the unseemly carrion!
I claim a new revision and with proofs in hand,
No Job now in my path to foil me and withstand.
Oh, I will serve Him well!
[Certain Angels approach. But who are these that come
With their grieved faces pale and eyes of martyrdom?
Not our good Sons of God? They stop, gesticulate,
Argue apart, some weep,--weep, here within Heaven's gate!
Sob almost in God's sight! ay, real salt human tears,
Such as no Spirit wept these thrice three thousand years.
The last shed were my own, that night of reprobation
When I unsheathed my sword and headed the lost nation.
Since then not one of them has spoken above his breath
Or whispered in these courts one word of life or death
Displeasing to the Lord. No Seraph of them all,
Save I this day each year, has dared to cross Heaven's hall
And give voice to ill news, an unwelcome truth to Him.
Not Michael's self hath dared, prince of the Seraphim.
Yet all now wail aloud.--What ails ye, brethren? Speak!
Are ye too in rebellion? Angels. Satan, no. But weak
With our long earthly toil, the unthankful care of Man.
Satan. Ye have in truth good cause.
Angels. And we would know God's plan,
His true thought for the world, the wherefore and the why
Of His long patience mocked, His name in jeopardy.

Athletes
in every games there
is always few winners than a looser, for
in every
episode there is always the
point to begin
the very aspiration of the body
pushes to start
to finish of what is being ignited, and as
it goes a feeling of
Conquering the star, inflame the athletes
to pursue its dream of victory
as the scramble started to swift, the
audience sees only the gesture emitted
to reach
the athletes goal, blinded the
shadow that underlines the cloths, there lay
a pain, emotional, spoil foot, dehydrated face
obstruction, swollen skin
and broken
parts experienced deep inside the actor
a halo of loose of oneself ego
to save, what is expected
in every race, that swallows the pain
over the victory achieve
it is a blending of self sacrifice and honor tag
to grasp
into the inner ego of the athletes
yet! another challenge
to face another challenges stretching
another strength
gambling what the capacity
of the body and mind reunites, where by
every strength welcome to exceed
to its limit
Citruis, Altuis, Fortius shouted
in every hearts as fuel, making
its goal
nearer to the victory offered, nothingness
the best as it thrives personal
perfection of excellence is worthwhile
to attain...... an effort of victory is in itself a VICTORY
to achieve
Swifter, Higher, Stronger......Citruis, Altuis. Fortuis..... A Motto

Soccer–Passion Song
Soccer in the evening;
Soccer in the morning;
Soccer in spring and fall.
Soccer in the raining;
Soccer in the snowing;
Soccer in winter and summer.
Soccer in between my feet,
where I walk;
Soccer in my heart and mind,
how I live;
Soccer my love and life.
Soccer I wake up and play;
Soccer I hold it to sleep;
Soccer my work and rest.
Soccer I sing a new song;
Soccer I dance the magic steps;
Soccer my tears and joy.
Soccer my Mom buys it for me to play;
Soccer my Dad brings me to the game;
Soccer my dear Love watches me to score.
Soccer I dribble and shoot;
Soccer I pass and fall;
Soccer my glory and downfall.
Soccer I strike to attack;
Soccer I tackle to defend;
Soccer my struggle and survival.
Soccer I receive the flags and the whistles;
Soccer I get the yellow and red card;
Soccer my moves and stop.
Soccer I meet my friends;
Soccer I make my enemies;
Soccer my conflict and peace.
Soccer I play and watch;
Soccer I watch but cannot play;
Soccer my dream and reality.
Soccer I learn the rights;
Soccer I confess the fouls;

Big Tall Man
Im a big, tall man
I cut the grass
My left eye hurts
I am waiting and reading parts
I can be a complicated communicator
Yes, Im winning, spinning
I feel energy being pulled off from all sides
And it feels good
Like relieving a headache
Zeus and athens
Florida driveway
Asphalt and tires
Sand and the beach
Rocker panel
Headlights in the dark
I am drag racing
Drag
Yes, Im winning, spinning
I feel energy being pulled off from all sides
And it feels good
Like relieving a headache
Yes, Im winning, spinning
I feel energy being pulled off from all sides
And it feels good
Like relieving a headache
Fog and the distance beyond it
Boats and the quiet morning noises
Im walking the shoreline
A beer and a cigarette
A bug with twitching antennae
A button-up short sleeved shirt
Yes, Im winning, spinning
I feel energy being pulled off from all sides
And it feels good
Like relieving a headache
Im a big, tall man
I cut the grass
My left eye hurts
I can be a complicated communicator
Yes, Im winning, spinning
I feel energy being pulled off from all sides
And it feels good
Like relieving a headache

Yips
When focusing too hard on putts
golfers suffer from the yips,
and those who focus hard on butts
and breasts and what’s below the hips
may not obtain a hole in one
because most eagles fly away,
and though a birdie can be fun
you’ll never catch one if you play
too focused. Nonchalance will launch
in sex, as golf, a thousand ships,
and when you’re ready for some raunch,
soft-focus rescues you from yips.
Inspired by an article by Katie Thomas in the NYT on August 1 explaining the phenomenon of yip[s which plagues archersm, golfers and all people who aim to carefully at targets (“The Secret Curse of Expert Archers”) :
There is an affliction so feared by elite archers that many in the sport refuse to even say its name. Archery coaches who specialize in treating the problem are sworn not to reveal the identities of archers in its grip, even though they estimate that 90 percent of high-level competitors will fall victim at least once in their careers. Target panic, as the condition is known, causes crack shots to suddenly lose control of their bows and their composure. Mysteriously, sufferers start releasing the bow the instant they see the target, sabotaging any chance of a gold-medal shot. Others freeze up and cannot release at all. Target panic is akin to the yips in baseball and golf, when accomplished athletes can no longer make a simple throw to first base or stroke an easy putt. The results can be mortifying, and archery is filled with tales of those who have caught the curse, never to shoot again. The problem has spawned a cottage industry of coaches, books and specialized accessories that claim to cure target panic….Lanny Bassham, a former Olympic rifle shooter and mental coach whose clients include the Olympic archer Brady Ellison, said the archery community had a peculiar obsession with target panic, which he noted had a horrifying ring. “The words target panic have induced an unnecessary amount of severity and concern about this condition among archers, ” he said. “I think if they had a better word for it, they’d have a lot less problem trying to cure it.” Many archers and their coaches refuse to say target panic. Those words are forbidden around the Nichols household, which is home to the Olympic archer Jennifer Nichols and her younger sister, Amanda, also a world-class competitor. “We try to stay away from the labels that are put on things by people in the archery industry because once you feel you’ve got that label, it’s hard to stay away from it, ” said their father, Brent Nichols. “We don’t want to hear those things.” Theories vary on how to cure target panic. Some switch their shooting hand, or change their grip slightly — techniques that have also proved successful in golf. Others use visualization techniques and positive reinforcement. Wunderle advises his clients to imagine seeing and feeling what a good shot is, without focusing on aiming the arrow. “Do not focus on results, ” he said. “When you focus on results, it builds anxiety. And anxiety is the kiss of death.” One of the most popular cures is to entirely remove the target. Sufferers instead practice shooting at a blank target, sometimes for weeks at a time, to retrain the mind. “The empty bale restores your confidence in your subconscious, ” said Bernie Pellerite, author of the book “Idiot Proof Archery” and a self-described expert on target panic. “Nobody flinches or punches or chokes on an empty bale.” Hunt spent weeks shooting at blank targets, but he also purchased a special release for his bow, which helped retrain him when to shoot. “It’s trying to engrave in your head when you should shoot, ” he said. “You just pull it back, let the safety off, and pull it until it decides to go. Then you get used to every shot being perfect.” Hunt placed second in his age group at the Junior Olympic Archery Development national championships in Oklahoma City earlier this month. His target panic, he said, had been cured. For now. There is an affliction so feared by elite archers that many in the sport refuse to even say its name. Over & Above
Half past 12 on a friday night everythings wrong and it doesnt feel right
Tried to talk to someone in the bar she didnt like my face I didnt get far
When you grow up youre gonna walk big strides just like me
When you grow up youre gonna hit the big time wait and see
And I listened to his guiding voice like a man who overhears god
Over and above what Im capable of
You couldnt take the weight of my purest innocence
Over and above what Im capable of
You couldnt take the weight of my purest innocence
Are you over
So tall daddy used to tower above him symbol of unreachable
Time fades icons of perfection cruel result but not intention
His values are not the ones I choose hes failed in himself
In the blaze of his pride an independence expressed
Not there is no guiding voice like a man who loses god
Over and above what Im capable of
You couldnt take the weight of my purest innocence
Over and above what Im capable of
You couldnt take the weight of my purest innocence
Are you over
And a man cant understand his father til he becomes a father too
Now his own sons expectation becomes his own hearts burden new
Dad I didnt understand the pressure could it bring them back together
Over and above what Im capable of
You couldnt take the weight of my purest innocence
Over and above what Im capable of
You couldnt take the weight of my purest innocence

VI. Giuseppe Caponsacchi
Answer you, Sirs? Do I understand aright?
Have patience! In this sudden smoke from hell,—
So things disguise themselves,—I cannot see
My own hand held thus broad before my face
And know it again. Answer you? Then that means
Tell over twice what I, the first time, told
Six months ago: 't was here, I do believe,
Fronting you same three in this very room,
I stood and told you: yet now no one laughs,
Who then … nay, dear my lords, but laugh you did,
As good as laugh, what in a judge we style
Laughter—no levity, nothing indecorous, lords!
Only,—I think I apprehend the mood:
There was the blameless shrug, permissible smirk,
The pen's pretence at play with the pursed mouth,
The titter stifled in the hollow palm
Which rubbed the eyebrow and caressed the nose,
When I first told my tale: they meant, you know,
"The sly one, all this we are bound believe!
"Well, he can say no other than what he says.
"We have been young, too,—come, there's greater guilt!
"Let him but decently disembroil himself,
"Scramble from out the scrape nor move the mud,—
"We solid ones may risk a finger-stretch!
And now you sit as grave, stare as aghast
As if I were a phantom: now 't is—"Friend,
"Collect yourself!"—no laughing matter more—
"Counsel the Court in this extremity,
"Tell us again!"—tell that, for telling which,
I got the jocular piece of punishment,
Was sent to lounge a little in the place
Whence now of a sudden here you summon me
To take the intelligence from just—your lips!
You, Judge Tommati, who then tittered most,—
That she I helped eight months since to escape
Her husband, was retaken by the same,
Three days ago, if I have seized your sense,—
(I being disallowed to interfere,
Meddle or make in a matter none of mine,
For you and law were guardians quite enough
O' the innocent, without a pert priest's help)—
And that he has butchered her accordingly,
As she foretold and as myself believed,—
And, so foretelling and believing so,
We were punished, both of us, the merry way:
Therefore, tell once again the tale! For what?
Pompilia is only dying while I speak!
Why does the mirth hang fire and miss the smile?
My masters, there's an old book, you should con
For strange adventures, applicable yet,

XI. Guido
You are the Cardinal Acciaiuoli, and you,
Abate Panciatichi—two good Tuscan names:
Acciaiuoli—ah, your ancestor it was
Built the huge battlemented convent-block
Over the little forky flashing Greve
That takes the quick turn at the foot o' the hill
Just as one first sees Florence: oh those days!
'T is Ema, though, the other rivulet,
The one-arched brown brick bridge yawns over,—yes,
Gallop and go five minutes, and you gain
The Roman Gate from where the Ema's bridged:
Kingfishers fly there: how I see the bend
O'erturreted by Certosa which he built,
That Senescal (we styled him) of your House!
I do adjure you, help me, Sirs! My blood
Comes from as far a source: ought it to end
This way, by leakage through their scaffold-planks
Into Rome's sink where her red refuse runs?
Sirs, I beseech you by blood-sympathy,
If there be any vile experiment
In the air,—if this your visit simply prove,
When all's done, just a well-intentioned trick,
That tries for truth truer than truth itself,
By startling up a man, ere break of day,
To tell him he must die at sunset,—pshaw!
That man's a Franceschini; feel his pulse,
Laugh at your folly, and let's all go sleep!
You have my last word,—innocent am I
As Innocent my Pope and murderer,
Innocent as a babe, as Mary's own,
As Mary's self,—I said, say and repeat,—
And why, then, should I die twelve hours hence? I—
Whom, not twelve hours ago, the gaoler bade
Turn to my straw-truss, settle and sleep sound
That I might wake the sooner, promptlier pay
His due of meat-and-drink-indulgence, cross
His palm with fee of the good-hand, beside,
As gallants use who go at large again!
For why? All honest Rome approved my part;
Whoever owned wife, sister, daughter,—nay,
Mistress,—had any shadow of any right
That looks like right, and, all the more resolved,
Held it with tooth and nail,—these manly men
Approved! I being for Rome, Rome was for me.
Then, there's the point reserved, the subterfuge
My lawyers held by, kept for last resource,
Firm should all else,—the impossible fancy!—fail,
And sneaking burgess-spirit win the day.
The knaves! One plea at least would hold,—they laughed,—
One grappling-iron scratch the bottom-rock
