Mayan Appreciation

The Maya appreciate people
even when departed are dead.

Maya invite dead spirit
to continue in the world;
to remain in the world
to help with their toil.

To do this the Maya pass
coca leaves three times;
around honoured laid out
corpse of the dead person.

While in esteemed western society
we do not even appreciate;
the living when they are alive
when unknown strangers unknown to us.

Why is it people living at altitude
in primal harmonious agricultural lifestyles;
have a reverent respect for nature essential
have a more enlightened attitude to life?

I thought pursuit altitude sickness
was supposed to harass affect;
people living at such high altitude
yet Maya living in clouds of Gods;

become tired ill with decent into valley
of pristine fertile green pastures;
where interactive infection breeds
swifter than can grow green spring grass.

Even among Maya some villagers
get drunk so become violent;
and cannot behave as civilized
people by necessity must behave.

Even when Mayan villagers
must sacrifice a lama for meat;
music is appreciation played
all care all life reverence;

must be appropriately given
to all community animals sacrificed.

Even the tinku the fighting ritual
an encounter of differing energies;
tinku is ritual encounter not brawl
to restore unity among participants.

I am convinced that attitude is the key to success or failure in almost any of life's endeavors. Your attitude--your perspective, your outlook, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about other people--determines your priorities, your actions, your values. Your attitude determines how you interact with other people and how you interact with yourself.

Snobbery

A solitary rose in red attire
Condescended:
A fleeting glance -
She apprehended
My affections,
Turned away
From me, a stray -

Stubble weed -
Genes to build an oddity:
Common seed -
Happy-go-lucky entity
In dull array.

The rose glowered,
But in ascension
Slipped a view of blight
Upon her regal greenery:
Black spot!

In all her bold perfumery
And blushing flower,
The sheen of vulnerability in jet
Reminded me how snobbery

Tarnish with an underlying debt!

She wavered in her shallow play -

An Attitude of Altitude

We can have an attitude of altitude, from the power that’s endued,
To all believers while in this life, through The Spirit of Jesus Christ,
So when we hit that valley low, we get strength from who we know,
To then rise above any situation, through the God of our Salvation.

This attitude that’s available to us, is from our Savior, Christ Jesus,
Who left His Throne from on high; All-knowing that He came to die,
Leaving Heaven, not mindful of, the power He had, reigning above,
Humbling Himself, for those lost, to a death upon Calvary’s Cross.

So let this mind be also in us, as believers serving our Lord Jesus,
Mindful not of our own needs, as we sow for Him, Kingdom seeds,
Being mindful of Christ instead, who, died for men spiritually dead,
So they could have Eternal Life, through our Lord’s great Sacrifice.

Through life’s battle that we face, sufficient for us, is God’s Grace,
When Satan brings on us a feud, we need to have Christ’s attitude,
Being mindful of Christ’s sacrifice, willing for God to pay the price,
While living for God, in all we do, in the valley, He’ll see us through.

With Christ’s attitude, from on High, we’ll do more than, just get by,
And that valley we’ll rise above, when mindful of our Savior’s Love,
While having the mind of our Lord, during the battle, we’re assured,
Not only of the present victory, but, our future with Christ Eternally.

Attitude,
That of a tree that sacrifices
Every bit of its being
Without any resistance

Attitude,
That of a Tiger
Who fulfills his desires
At the cost of the life of others

Attitude,
That of a philanthropist
Who burps, after being fulfilled
And puts the make-up
Of generosity and culture
To appear elite and superior

Attitude,
That of a sage
With all human weaknesses

Attitude

Johnny moved to this big town
To be who he could be.
But the tough guys on the sidewalk
They dont want him to be free.
But he knows he has the power,
He knows someday theyll be dead.
The cant get him to turn around
He keeps walking straight ahead
cuz hes got attitude.
And it will get him through.
And hes got attitude,
And it will see him though.
Backstage mary
She grew up with nothing but hunger in her purse.
All the fancy ladies tell her
Youll only go from bad to worse.
But she just keeps on believing,
She tells them shes doing fine.
They get rich while she gets smart,
Shes growing stronger all the time
cuz shes got attitude,
And it will get her through.
And shes got attitude,
And it will see her through.
Everybody knows who they are,
They need no address.
They make sure things are going their way,
And the countrys in a mess.
As they buy that land, start that war,
Keep those people poor,
They dont care if people arent
Going to take it anymore.
And theyve got attitude,
And it will get them through.
