Love Is The Most Powerful And Lasting of Emotions

Reality! Amazing is it not, with how much haste
It does return when your mind is not being laid waste
To paranoia and fear, ne'er before seen here?
Not fair is this to any involved- I think- as I shed another tear!

Time past must assuredly be telling- you chose the wrong path!
Ne'er too late is it though to rekindle the fire we two hath!
Love is the most powerful and lasting of emotions-
Span it does across the world, over the largest oceans! !

What may I ask are you now waiting upon?
The day of your judgment, has already again reached its dawn!
The suffering I have endured has nearly my life, taken,
Why has the love of my life, labeled me and foresaken! ?

If you're wrong and not of the adverse opinion,
Then must you be back to reality, or at least, to be, begining!

Most 'Beaches' and I

I often wished someone had thoughts of me,
To stroll along the beach at sunset.
Then to strip and be naked.
Laying under darkening skies,
Until we are dried from being wet.
And not a word of having sex...
Seeped from whispered breath.

I often wished someone had thoughts of me,
Like that!
Instead of grabbing my crotch,
To then demand...
I give up the best that I've got!
Perhaps that is why,
Most 'beaches' and I...
Do not share respectful memories.

The World Needs Courage And Hope

THE WORLD NEEDS COURAGE AND HOPE

The world needs Courage and Hope
It needs voices that believe-
It needs kindness and caring and love
But also the strength of conviction

The world needs so much
My own doubting and questioning voice lacks
What I have to give
Is not what Humanity most needs.

More questions, more self- obsessions
The endless example of the single individual
Striving to create what he may never be able to.

God of Love of Goodness and of Kindness
I am afraid You need a lot stronger servants than I.

Sonnet- The World Believes In Pomp And Show

The world believes in pomp and outward show;
Most things are done from business point of view;
All things are sold and purchased for some dough;
Human misdeeds have gone beyond review.

For everything, there is a strategy;
A lot is spent on merchandise-display;
A lot of things are done technically,
Involving waste of time, labor some way.

Enthralled are men by external appeal;
None cares about the future of his soul;
They want their bodies to mostly reveal;
Their ambition is just an earthly goal.

When will man come out of all this turmoil,
And trust in God much more than his own toil?

Wallace Stevens

The House Was Quiet and The World Was Calm

The house was quiet and the world was calm.
The reader became the book; and summer night

Was like the conscious being of the book.
The house was quiet and the world was calm.

The words were spoken as if there was no book,
Except that the reader leaned above the page,

Wanted to lean, wanted much most to be
The scholar to whom his book is true, to whom

The summer night is like a perfection of thought.
The house was quiet because it had to be.

The quiet was part of the meaning, part of the mind:
The access of perfection to the page.

And the world was calm. The truth in a calm world,
In which there is no other meaning, itself

Is calm, itself is summer and night, itself
Is the reader leaning late and reading there.

THE HERE AND NOW (Personal Writings)

A dear friend expressed concern about her role in the world, below is an excerpt from my response:

'I know what you mean about wanting to know the 'Big picture', so we can relax and enjoy life. I suppose that it's not that easy. All we really have is the moment, as the past is gone and the future's not here yet. The trick to all this is to enjoy any given moment, no matter what one is doing...not an easy task in the hubbub of the crazy world we live in.

What I know in my soul is that great change is upon us. The outer world is berserk and chaotic...our inner world may or may not reflect this, depending on how we choose to be. Think of yourself as the eye of the hurricane. High winds circle around you, yet you remain calm and centered.

Be at peace, for as you well know...God resides within you Beloved.'

Most Beautiful Woman In The World

She is the most beautiful woman in the world.
Yet! She doesn’t have fancy clothes, or makeup.
She doesn’t even have a first name, nor does she speak.
But people come from all over the world just to see
Our beautiful MISS LIBERTY.

She sits in our harbor and greets all human race
From the air, land, or from the sea
She has become a part of me.
She fills every heart with a warm glow
And day to day she puts on a show.

She stands on a mound with her arm held high
Holding freedoms torch to the sky.
Her robe is the robe of justice
And she wears it quite well
Look at her closely and you can tell.

Freedom is not really free - for you may
Have to fight for liberty
Just open your eyes and look around
Communist nations have fallen to the ground
Arab countries are fighting for their rights
And it is a long and perilous flight
But freedoms bell will forever ring
it is the one and only lasting thing.

The Most Expensive Girl In The World

Jimmy was a fly guy with a big mercedes
He thought he could get all type of ladies
He makes a lot of money cause he is a money maker
And if he looks for style he rides jet ski in jamaica
He met this beautiful girl at a bar
And jimmy could swear she looked like a star
He got the the most expensive girl in the world
The most expensive girl
But jimmy didnt listen - yes he didnt
His friends warned him - he thought they must be kiddin
Jimmy felt in love like he never did before
For any kiss he gets she takes him to the store
Every time she buys more than jimmy can carry
So she employed a butler and his name is: larry
He got the the most expensive girl in the world
The most expensive girl
Jimmy is out of money he spent all on his honey
He is searchin for a credit but his friends regret it
He is workin at three jobs but that is not enough
To pay all her needs to pay all her stuff
I saw her later on a luxury ferry
And next to her stood a man named: larry
You got played, boy !
He got the the most expensive girl in the world
The most expensive girl

Most boring man in the world

I’m always where… I’m sposed to be
Always doin’ what I’m sposed to be doin’

Never lookin’ where… I shouldn’t be lookin
Nor talking trash or rumor strewin’

No telling’ lies, except for the lil’ white ones
Pretty much walkin’ the proverbial straight line

Gave up smoking’, don’t do much drinkin’
Maybe a beer a week, occasional glass of wine

I take a nightly shower even if I don’t really need one
Never kick my dog, and only rarely kick the cat

Never badmouth the people around me
Though they’re getting’ godawful fat

I’m eating right, watchin’ my weight
Working out at the Y, constantly weighin’ myself

I’m always on time, hardly ever late
Reading’ box labels, then puttin’ them back on the shelf

Suckin’ in my gut and standing up straight
Brushin’ my teeth… poppin’ wintergreen mints

I’m always on time, never arrive late
My breath is so nice it makes the bank teller wince

I have most of the virtues of a fairly good man
My hair is lustrous, silver grey, slightly curled

I have all of those attributes, yet even I understand
I’m also the most boring… man in the world

Thundering On (Cavatina Sequence)

(after Thom Gunn)

A far off hum breaks the noon time silence,
rumbling thunder
of a manmade kind draws near, grazing cows
pause in wonder,
swallows, some in wheeling flight,
nesting under
a highway bridge swish about in some fear,
as some oncoming danger they do hear.

Men and women sit astride motorbikes,
with legs touching,
in almost a solemn intimate ritual,
everything,
even their black helmets, leather jackets,
is vibrating
to the essence of acceleration
of being in powerful forward motion.

With each other they are most intimate
and personal
as in unison they drive, they throttle on;
impersonal
beyond black visors, jackets, pants and boots;
emotional
they act, are a sheer force riding robust,
their uniforms are covered with dust.

There is some great joy, a sense of freedom;
the wind and sun
are tugging at the very centre soul,
with unknown fun
as they past in perfect control of speed;
as they are one,
with nature in a sudden kind of bliss
that some view as being utter reckless

Man, woman on roaring machines against
gravitation
becomes something more than mere human
intimation,
they are together travelling to their
destination,
next to the road the cows graze at the fence,
the swallows chirp after the inference.

The Most Beautiful Girl In The World

{from the beautiful experience (1994)}
Could u be the most beautiful girl in the world?
Its plain 2 see ure the reason that God made a girl
When the day turns into the last day of all time
I can say I hope u are in these arms of mine
And when the night falls before that day I will cry
I will cry tears of joy cuz after u all one can do is die, oh
Could u be the most beautiful girl in the world?
Could u be?
Its plain 2 see ure the reason that God made a girl
Oh, yes u are
How can I get through days when I cant get through hours?
I can try but when I do I see u and Im devoured, oh yes
Whod allow, whod allow a face 2 be soft as a flower? oh
I could bow (bow down) and feel proud in the light of this power
Oh yes, oh
Could u be (could u be) the most beautiful girl in the world?
Could u be?
Its plain 2 see ure the reason that God made a girl
Oh, yes u are
And if the stars ever fell one by one from the sky
I know mars could not be, uh, 2 far behind
Cuz baby, this kind of beauty has got no reason 2 ever be shy
Cuz honey, this kind of beauty is the kind that comes from inside
Could u be (could u be) the most beautiful girl in the world?
So beautiful, beautiful
Its plain 2 see (plain 2 see) ure the reason that God made a girl
Oh yeah! (oh, yes u are)
Girl (could u be? )
U must be ... oh yeah!
(could u be? )
Ure the reason ... oh yeah
(could) {x3}

The World Is My Therapist And I'm In Counseling Right Now

Got my share of ugly, done did and said things I ain't proud of, I mean some ugly things, but what a real man does is ask God for forgiveness and whoever he have wrong.

We ain't perfect, we gonna make wrong decisions and sometimes even hurt people we love

For whatever reason it maybe, we do or say things that affect our lives forever and it sometimes changes our lives putting us a different course

The world is my therapist and I'm in counseling right now

Got a lot of hurt, anger, and frustrations in my life, the war in Liberia how traumatizing it was, life in America how hard and trial it can sometime be, interpersonal problems, such as people trying to break up your parents marriage, and then on top of that your own personal love problems and battling financial confidence

The world is my therapist and I'm in counseling right now

We may sometimes bend all the the way to the end but I never break, I never break......

Stronger than any rubber band or any bamboo reef, or better a diamond in a rough, I was made through extreme heat pressure, made harder than African Ivory and Tennessee marble

The world is my therapist and I'm in counseling right now

Yeah, tell me what's wrong with me, pick me out, pick me in, dissect me, tell me what I did wrong and tell me where I went wrong,
So at the end of day when all else fails and people right you off, God will be the only there and to hear you out

Perfection is what I am really striving for honestly. All these sleepless nights for different reasons,
So don't judge me for my flurries because I don't have any worries, as we say in Liberia, seeke fa fair, what's for you shall see your face

The world is my therapist and I'm in counseling right now

The Eternal Witness

There's an Eternal Witness always watching the things we all do,
though there may not be anyone else around He is through you.
We are all part and parcel of an infinite Supreme Being
knowing everything through our mind and eyes seeing.

He is our most intimate and lovingly trusting friend
with us always from the beginning till the very end.
It's only after much pain and suffering we have undergone here
that we either turn to Him for comfort or curse Him with a smear.

Yet He remains unaffected, as a rule, by either praise or blame
but can bestow grace upon us when we lovingly call His Name.
We are always His Divine Children and should realise this as a fact,
and down throughout the ages He has always been calling us back.

When we listen closely to the quiet, calm inner voice of silence;
our own highest conscience, we can receive the right guidance.
And if we follow and act on the words of a Perfect Master
we will in time find Him with ease and also very much faster.

And when we each finally attain to Him perhaps sooner or later
then we'll all realise that we have always been so much greater
than what we had ever thought of or imagined could become,
being just beyond our minds ability to grasp, except for some.

There is nothing but Him in everything and everywhere
what we say and do cannot be without Him being there.
That unseen and yet indivisible Being is the one true Reality
a silent witness which is hidden in all things and an actuality.

We are really This One as the lover, love and Only Beloved
as the bliss arising from That sustains and keeps us covered
from all the so called worldly troubles that can be ever without end
if we know them to be an illusion maintained by our Eternal Friend.

On The Radio (From The Motion Picture Foxes)

Someone found a letter you wrote me, on the radio
and they told the world just how you felt
it must have fallen out of a hole in your old brown overcoat
they never said your name
but I knew just who they meant.
I was so surprised and shocked, and I wonderer, too
if by chance you heard it for yourself
I never told a soul just how I've been feeling about you
but they said it really loud
they said it on the air
On the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
Now, now
don't it kinda strike you sad when you hear our song
things are not the same since we broke up last June
the only thing that I wanna hear is that you love me still
and that you think you'll be coming home real soon
whoa, oh, yeah, yeah
And it made me feel proud when I heard you say
you couldn't find the words to say it yourself
and now in my heart I know I can say what I really feel
'Cause they said it really loud
they said it on the air
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
(Played in shorter version)
If you think that love isn't found on the radio
well tune right in you made find the love you lost
'cause now I'm sitting here with the man I sent away long ago
it sounded really loud
they said it really loud
On the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
(End)
(Played in longer version)
Sending in a letter to tell them that I love you too
if you hear it, maybe you will know
when you hear them read the line about love's return on the radio
you'll think about the two of us and you'll come home
whoa, oh, oh
if you knew just how I'd felt why'd you make me wait?
life goes on and on while you play with my heart
don't hold on any longer 'cause now I know how you really feel
'Cause I heard it really loud
they said it on the air
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
Now,
if you think that love isn't found on the radio
then tune right in you made find the love you lost
'cause now I'm sitting here with the man I sent away long ago
it sounded really loud
they said it really loud
On the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh

Weary Of The World, And With Heaven Most Dear

Farewell, world, farewell
As thrall here I’m weary and no more will dwell,
The manifold burdens that on me have lain,
I wrest them now from me and do them disdain,
I wrench myself free, though am wearied withal:
’Tis vanity all,
’Tis vanity all.

And what everywhere
Does this world embellish with visage so fair?
’Tis all merely shadows and baubles of glass,
’Tis all merely bubbles and clattering brass,
’Tis all but thin ice, filth and mischief withal:
’Tis vanity all,
’Tis vanity all.

My years what are they?
That furtively dwindle and sidle away?
And what are my worries? My thought-troubled mind?
My joy or my sorrow? My fancies so blind?
And what do my work, moil and toil all recall?
’Tis vanity all,
’Tis vanity all.

Oh riches and gold,
You false earthly idol so bright to behold,
You are though among the deceits the world brings
That wax, wane and alter with all other things.
You are but vain glory whate’er may befall:
’Tis vanity all,
’Tis vanity all.

Ah, honour – ’tis what?
Your crowns and your laurels proclaim what you’re not,
And envy consumes you and sits on your back,
You lack peace of mind and are prone to attack!
You stumble where others contrive not to fall:
’Tis vanity all,
’Tis vanity all.

Ah, favour and grace
That mist-like enfold us, are gone without trace.
You fickle infl ator that puffs up the mind,
You thousand-eyed creature that e’en so are blind,
When viewed ’gainst the sun one can see that you pall:
’Tis vanity all,
’Tis vanity all.

Ah, friendship and trust,
That veers vanes to happiness with every gust!
You handsome deceiver, you fortunate pup,
That fails us so often in sorrow’s deep cup
You say what experience has us recall:
’Tis vanity all,
’Tis vanity all.

Ah, joys of the flesh
That many have fatally snared in their mesh,
You quick-burning tinder, you spark on the wind,
Have sown flames eternal for those that have sinned,
Your cup seems like honey, the drink though is gall:
’Tis vanity all,
’Tis vanity all.

Farewell, then, farewell
No more your deceits shall my soul now compel,
Oh world of delusion, I now you dismiss,
Consign to oblivion’s deepest abyss,
My grief and affliction no more me shall chafe:
With Abraham safe,
With Abraham safe.

There all of my years
Will start in eternity’s spring without tears,
My days will not dawn with the rise of the sun,
Nor moon’s wax or wane tell when night has begun,
My sun is Lord Jesus with rays like gold staves:
With Abraham safe,
With Abraham safe.

My riches and gold
Will always be mine both to have and to hold,
No robber can ever deprive me of them,
No bartering cause me to part with one gem,
I never will find myself left as a waif:
With Abraham safe,
With Abraham safe.

My honour is won
From that throne my Jesus is sitting upon,
A crown filled with glory for me is in store,
With blood of the lamb it is gilt ever more,
’Tis mine though the devil me gladly would strafe:
With Abraham safe,
With Abraham safe.

With grace I will shine
As one of the angelic host so divine,
No envious eye shall my face ever see,
God’s countenance gaze ever-smiling on me,
There will I pour scorn on death’s envious grave:
With Abraham safe,
With Abraham safe.

There I have a friend,
My Jesus who loves me I love without end,
My eye will regard him unclouded and fair,
The heavenly torch of his love proffered there,
In spirit Love’s blaze I eternal may crave:
With Abraham safe,
With Abraham safe.

My rapture and joy
Are quickened when angels their trumpets employ,
But God is all joy both for me and their kind!
Rejoice then, my soul, all the world leave behind!
Mind well on your heart God his joy will engrave:
With Abraham safe,
With Abraham safe.

I Wish Everyone In The World Were As Mad As You Are

I wish everyone in the world were as mad as you are.
I wish everyone in the world talked the same nonsense you do
and meant as much.
Stop crying.
I wish everyone in the world were as good as you are
and didn't lie to anyone else
other than themselves
about what the truth is.
You shape chaos to your mind
like light to space
to make a habitable planet you can live on
and if it isn't round sometimes
and O doesn't always cast the same shadow
that the others mimic with theirs
I wish everyone could put on your kind of airs
and be as good to life as the kind of atmosphere you are.
Come on now.
Here.
Dry your tears with this.
All those constellations you made up
out of the stars in your eyes
are your own private myths and mandalas
and you're free to change them as you will
and I wish everyone made as much
of the light they were given to go by
as you have.
I'm too much of a thorn
to paint the delicate iridescent watercolours
I see smeared on your tender bubbles
like original pictures of the universe
from a thousand spaced-out Hubbles
but I wish everyone in the world
had your kind of genius for vulnerability.
You hold up a single feather of light
like a candle among stars
like a green leaf in the middle of winter
and the world that is inured to three dimensions
for infinitely tedious reasons
would rather put its eyes out
and gape like blackholes
than see as you do
that there are countless seasons to the soul
that burn like a phoenix
and there's nowhere you can point to in the darkness
that isn't an equinox of love and understanding
when the sun shines at midnight
and spring harvests what the autumn sows.
Having a deep cosmic insight
like a stranger beyond lucidity
into the windows of the houses of your own zodiac
might make you look like a maniac to the neighbours
who keep watch in their asylum
against any kind of freedom
that might release them from their lighthouse
like a geni from a lamp
that doesn't conform to anyone's wishs but her own
but I wish everyone had the courage
you have not to be them.
Life isn't fair or unfair.
Life isn't kind or cruel.
It isn't half-Buddha and half-fool.
Neither impersonal
nor sentimental
life isn't a kind of obedience
to its own rules
as if it were bound like God to keep its word.
Or what?
Who else is there to answer to?
All the taboos want to be thresholds
and all the thresholds
want to run away from home.
Could be a curse.
Could be a blessing.
Could be just more idle words.
But you're not like that.
You're not a fountain mouth
that mistakes alphabets for birds
and holds them to the letter of the law
in a world full of music.
It's enlightenment to sing to a window.
It's ignorance to sing to a mirror.
But you don't sing to either
and your song is clear as running water
all the way down the mountain.
The picture-music
of your eyes and your ears
can already hear the ocean from here
that gathers to receive the flowing
like the heart receives blood
like the mind receives your thoughts.
Look out at the world.
You're the host.
Look inward.
You're the guest.
You can break bread with the dead
without being a ghost.
You can drink wine with the living
and it's the wine that gets high on you
flowing into a seabed of shadows on the moon
that hasn't touched a dropp for years.
Don't believe what the cynics say about innocence.
They have the sensibilities of blackflies
trying to draw blood from the Mona Lisa.
Don't grieve if you're a butterfly
that can't follow the flightplans of the maggots.
There's only a slight difference in wingspan
between a waterbird and a phoenix
but it would take lightyears
to measure a single feather of yours.
There's no cult of the rose
that insists it fall upon its own thorns first
or the moon draw first blood
on the blades of its own crescents.
You don't have to scar
your own deathmask with experience
just to prove you knew
how to eat the pain and bleed.
You don't have to wear your face in public
as if it were something you kept up your sleeve.
Dice might be the foundation-stones of the lost
but that doesn't mean
you have to go pearl-diving
for the moon in quicksand
or change your song like a jukebox
playing the slots
when you're a mermaid on the rocks.
I wish everyone had the same chance
to risk it all as you do
and win back their lives
like eleven come of seven
insteading of seeing everything
as if they were jinxed by inasuspicious birds
turning the wrong way on a prayer-wheel
that keeps coming up snake-eyes
with every roll of their skulls.
You can't heal the luck
of a wounded Nazi
by turning his swastika the other way.
You can't teach snakes to bite other people.
And you don't know enough
if there's anything left to say or understand
and even then there's a silence
that still longs to be heard
like a humming bird sipping honey from your ears
or deep in a telescopic wishing well of stars
burning in a dream of mirrors
they walk across
like fire on the water
or the distant blue notes
of the hidden nightbird
that echoes your tears
as if it were crying out in the darkness
from the safety of a secret place
for the same reasons you are.
As if it were trying to befriend its own sorrow
and weep for tomorrow as you do
for all the things of the past
it won't even know it's missing.
I wish everyone in the world
could live the future as you do
as something that is already happening now.
Even when you're crying
because you don't think you're brave enough
not to.
You're not a lame princess
that anyone needs to rescue.
You're a dragon bringing rain.
And if the snakepit hisses at you
like a social structure
and calls you insane sometimes
because you have wings
and they still hug the earth
all tied up in knots
taking their poisons out on each other
to keep from feeling anything
it's just their way of defining sanity
by the standards of the numbest.
It's not you that's crazy.
It's not you that's the dumbest.
I wish everyone in the world
were as warm-blooded and wise as you are.
When the serpent fire at the base of your spine
has passed through the doors
of all your chakras like vertebrae
and you're already a circumpolar constellation j
just a little off true north
shining like Draco
why worry if you're no good
at the game of snakes and ladders
they play like politics and religion back here on earth
to see who gets to be the pillar
and who the quicksand.
You understand way more than that.
I can tell by the fire in your eyes
that you're a phoenix among stars
and you've transcended the eagles and the houseflies
that can't even begin to imagine
the kind of heights you can reach to
or the depth of the view below you
when you're riding your own thermals
like beautiful helices in the mindstream
for the sheer joy of being only you.
Even now.
These tears
that run all the way down to your lips
as if water had fingertips
what are they
but the way you cry for things
that everyone else didn't?
I wish everyone in the world could be like you.
I wish you could teach us all
to stop living a spiritual lie
on the deathbed of an earthly truth
as if that were the only way
to foolproof ourselves
against reality
like a stranger looking through our windows at night
who doesn't recognize herself in us
because most of us aren't as brave and free as you are
to leave the door ajar
and let whatever wants to come in
come in.
Some track in mud.
Some.
Stars.
And the mud flowers in light.
And the stars bloom in fire.
And one looks up
and the other looks down
on each other's likeness
reflected in the other
as if they were engendered by the same being.
Sight is a kind of love
and I wish everyone in the world
were inspired by the mystic dimensions
and intimate clarity of your kind of seeing
that even through these tears
that I'm not having much luck in wiping away
can comprehend a world
that's more wonderful than it thinks it is.

I Walk And See The World

I WALK AND SEE THE WORLD

I walk and see the world
It is good to see-
There is joy
In just seeing
And being alive.

Even though money seems such an objective topic, it can also be the most intimate, and possibly harmful, part of a relationship.
