If You Have Been Given The Opportunity

IF you have been given the opportunity,
To be invited to view a bigger picture of life...
That includes you,
But for some reason...
You are no longer tha main topic of it?
Grab a hold onto this opportunity.

You may discover a different world,
You had no idea existed.
And others like yourself,
Finding the useless need...
To adorn rose colored glasses.

Getting a much wider vision of life,
And how the experience of living it...
Can benefit with a more rewarding purpose,
That redefines your identity with clarity!
If...
You have been given that opportunity.

The Oriental Eyes

The ORIENT, mystifying, mesmerizing, hypnotizing.
A culture with thousands of years of pride.

I was enjoying and praising the beauties of the land
With the waterfalls, gardens of flowers.
With all its different colors and scents.
Making it feel like heaven sent.
The women with their story telling eyes
Made you stop and sigh.
Then I saw this woman with a beauty so rare
That with others I would not share.
I found myself drowning in the eyes
Of this oriental lady.
The eyes wide and deep, with the
Secrets that she keeps.
It was like floating on a never ending stream
Not knowing where it is taking you
Yet enjoying the flow
And deep inside you a scorching glow.
It takes you to lives past
And the struggles that they had to fight
To make their living turn out right.

It takes you to days of old, and peasants were bold
And the fighting skills taught by the elderly.
To protect all that they could see.
(now if you think this is a lie- look into an oriental s eyes)

I heard a snapping sound which brought me
Out of this trance. Are you alright?
You was looking into my eyes and it’s
Like you became hypnotized.
Yes! Yes! I am well!
Its that your eyes showed me heaven and bits of hell.
She laughed! And said: you have been in the sun too long
In the shade is where you belong.
I followed her to a house of tea.
Where we conversed openly.
I told her what I saw when I looked into her eyes.
Is that the reason you looked to be hypnotized?

She had her hair long and black
Going down the length of her back.
An oval face, and a short nose
Dimpled cheeks to complete the pose.
A smile with pearly white teeth
Looking at her was a most pleasant treat.

We laughed and joked all that night
To a point that I cancelled my flight.
I wanted to stay with this beauty so rare
And with her my love to share.
I stayed there for a month or two.
Then she told me: I will follow you.

She left with me on the u.s. flight
And I married her, to my family s delight.

Since You Said You Loved Me

Hold me tighter and tighter through the night
When you kiss me honey I tremble like a child
And I feel so right since you said you loved me
But the moonlight just ? ? ? shining through
And the night was a ? ? ? shades of blue
And I feel so right since you said you loved me
Hold me tighter and tighter through the night
When you kiss honey I tremble like a child
And I feel so right since you said you loved me

Sarsparilla and Janice and You.

You walked with Janice
to Baldwin's the Herbalist

at the corner of Elephant
and Walworth Road

she wore her blue patterned dress
and red beret

and white socks
and red sandals

and in her small purse
she had money

her gran gave her
to buy sarsaparilla

in a half pint glass
and you

in your cowboy shirt
and jeans and plimsolls

with your holster
and six shooter

in the belt
around your waist

and clutching money
your mother'd given you

for doing a few chores
Gran would never let me

go on my own
Janice said

but when I said
you were going

Gran said all right
but no sweets

they rot your teeth
I like the liquorice sticks

you can buy there
you said

they make your teeth white
or so my mum said

Janice looked at your gun
in the holster

and said
you can protect me

from outlaws with your gun
sure

you replied
she smelt of lavender

and toothpaste from tins
and she moved nearer to you

and her arm touched yours
as you walked along

here we are
she said

and opened the door of Baldwin's
and you both went in

and went to the counter
and asked the man

for two half pints
of sarsaparilla

and when he poured them
and you each paid him

you stood by the window
with your glasses

and sipped
and looked

at the passing traffic
and people

you feeling like Wyatt Earp
in the saloon

and Janice looking out
as if she feared

outlaws would be coming
pretty soon.

Minatory And Hortatory

To Adam the Lord was most minatory,
and said: “You must keep your virginity! ”
He learned about sex
From a tree whose effects
Made it change from a knowing- to sinner-tree.

To Adam the Lord had been hortatory,
and said: “You may eat from the shorter tree.
If you eat from the tall
you’re certain to fall
out of bed, going straight to the mortuary.”

Inspired by Mark Twain’s advice to writers: “If you catch an adjective, shoot it! ”

You Can't Fool The Fat Man

Sittin' with the fat man
Tryin' to get a loan
Talkin' about horses
And the women that we've known
Spittin' on the sidewalk
Squintin' into the sun
Greetin' all the people
Smilin' at everyone
I said "hey, listen, fat man
I just can't get a break
Must i pay my whole life long
For just one mistake?
"my brother's in the armed forces
My sister is in jail,
Won't you give me fifty dollars
So i can pay her bail?"
He said "you can't fool the fat man
No, you can't fool me
You're just a two-bit grifter
And that's all you'll ever be

And Then You Remember

you're on top, you display something analytical, tails and heads in perfect harmony.
explanations, rationalizations, conclusions,
therefore,
i am.

then you are down. Colors come. Red, brown, yellow.
Metallic, rust. Shedding off. Tarnished silver.
Cracks. Lost diamonds. Melted gold.
ice turning to drips.
whirlpools. and rocking and pushing and shoving.
no why's please. You touch the lips. Sssh. No words.
No answers. No questions.
Just sitting down. Looking at a sunset. Orange turning to black.
Pure pitch black.

then the stars. Distant stars. You touch your hair.
Breathe the air. Suck them inside your lungs. Expand.
Close your eyes.

Now you are seeing all things in the dark so vividly.
Memories.Children running on the beach. Chasing. Hide and Seek.

On the table clothed with banana leaves, the food are laid.
Bare hands attack. And you gobble and haggle.

Meanwhile, the sea breeze arrive. The beach is empty.
The cradle swings and takes you to your youth.
Imagine what once was there. Just laughter.

You smile. Close your eyes. And then you remember.

The Wise Man

there was three men who met GOD.
and GOD said:
i will grant you the one thing
that you want most in the world.

the first man jumped up and replied:
i want to be the richest man in the world.
granted: GOD said

the second man said:
i want to be the most knowledgeable
man in the world.
granted: GOD said

then GOD turned to the third man and asked
what would you like?
the man pondered all the possibilities
and softly responded: 'free will'.

GOD looked at him and said:
you could have wealth or knowledge
like the other two, or health, love
anything that you want.
why did you pick free will?

well GOD: with free will, i could
make any choices that i want
and if it is wrong, i learn from the experience.
i could search for knowledge
and be able to achieve wealth
and read books to open
the mind that you have given me.

i could experience love, joy, sorrow,
happiness, sadness.
and use the five senses
that you have bestowed upon me.

let me see and feel all the beauties
of the world, and the wonders of my soul.
this is something that i could forever hold.

why would i want to change
what you have given me.
you don't make mistakes
this much i see.

GOD looked upon him and said:
you did not seek the material
things in this life.
but accepted what i have given.
and this is what is called 'living'.

you are truly one of the sons of GOD.
for it is within your heart.

You can make more money on unemployment than you can going down and getting one of those jobs that is an honest job, but it doesn't pay as much. And so, that's what's happened to us is that we have put in so much entitlement into our government, that we really have spoiled our citizenry and said you don't want the jobs that are available.

Anger With Death

There was a thing called anger
that he didn't knew
untill one day
when death came to him and said
'this is not yet the time'

That was the day
after he jumped
from the 13th floor of a building
that gave him a broken spinal
that made him no longer able to move
his two legs and one arm
for the rest of his life.

Anger with death....
that's all he has
in his whole heart
....now.

The Rebellious Vine

One day, the vine
That clomb on god’s own house
Cried, “I will not
grow

And, ‘I will
not
grow,’
And, I
will
not grow,’
And,
I
will not grow,’
So God leaned out his head,
And said:

You need
not
Then the vine
fluttered its leaves, and cried to all the winds:
‘Oh have I not permission from the Lord?
And may I not begin to cease to grow?’
But that wise God had pondered on the vine
Before he made it.
And all the while it laboured not to grow,
It grew; it grew;
And all the time God knew.

Do You Want To See The Bed In Flames?

(Translation To: Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen?)

Do you want to see the bed in flames
do you want to perish in skin and hair
you want to stick the dagger in the sheet as well
you want to also lick the blood from the dagger

Rammstein

You see the crosses on the pillow
You mean the innocence may kiss you
You believe it would be hard to kill
But where are all of the dead coming from

Rammstein

Sex is a battle
Love is war

Do you want to see the bed in flames
do you want to perish in skin and hair
you want to stick the dagger in the sheet as well
you want to also lick the blood from the dagger

Rammstein

Thank You For My Freedom

November 11th is Veteran’s Day
Where we will bow our heads and pray.
You have been in the big battle,
Where the guns shoot and rattle.
In the dark, dull night,
You grab your artillery and fight.
You are a patriotic man,
Giving America a helping hand.
As I lay in bed and gaze,
I’ll talk to GOD and give you praise.
In my mind you are fighting our enemy,
For the sake of keeping the USA joyous and free.
You are crotched behind a crumbling wall,
Keeping our country strong and tall.
Over in America we are doing just fine,
Hoping you will soon be home from the battle line.
Our flag is still standing and dancing,
While our veteran’s are prancing.
You are as strong and tough as a nail,
Always watching your back from another gun shell.
Thank you all for helping me,
But mostly for keeping America free.

You Do Not See The Wind....

when you are exhausted
to even write a letter
do not be afraid about
losing yourself
into an abyss of
perhaps having outlived
your usefulness

this is a normal occurrence
when you have given up what
does not rightfully belong to you

because you only live on
a borrowed house and what you
have is only the body
of the sea hermit

because you bring nothing here
and so when you finally leave
you ought to bring nothing too
with you

but what place are you going?
do you really know?
what do you have here?
do you really know?

when you are tired now
because there are no answers
bear in mind, always bear in mind,
that that is the only possible truth
of our earthly existence

deep in our hearts
we know of a country
and inside it
is a paradise

it is certain but we do not know when
it is true but we do not know why

just be patient
just be patient
just be patient

here comes the wind
and you do not see it....

You've Been Spoiled

Yes.
You've been spoiled.
And I...
No longer guess...
I am the reason and cause of it.

From the very beginning,
When I gifted you...
With my best 'anyone' could get.
And delivered that to you,
So happy you were.
And to me that was expressed.

Yes.
You've been spoiled.
And I...
No longer guess...
I am the reason and cause of it.

I feel it each time,
When you rush to find...
What it is I've left.

Believing it easy and simple for me...
To create for you something great.
Something to leave your mind teased and pleased.
You've been spoiled and that is because of me!

And now my very best...
Gets less of your attention,
With your inquisitive curiousness.
Now you get upset with a disrespect...
If you find an undotted 'i' or an uncrossed 't',
As you closely inspect.

Yes.
You've been spoiled.
And I...
No longer guess...
I am the reason and cause of it.
I am the reason,
You now mumble your indignities...
To me,
Under your breath!

You are where you've been

You are where you've been.
Deciding that time would wait.
As you marinated in indecision.

You are where you've been.
Seeking the same acceptance,
As if this was a confirming reception.

You are where you've been.
Catching up with a made up mind...
Finding that times have changed.

You are where you've been.
And there is absolutely nothing,
That has remained the same.

And you giving in to what has begun,
Will not bestow upon you a patience...
From those empathetic with explanations,
Slowly participating in a show and tell.

That bling side of life you liked and kept polished...
Has been blemished by those ideals,
You hung onto too long.
And the fading of those times are gone.

You are where you've been.
Deciding that time would wait.
As you marinated in indecision.

You are where you've been.
Seeking the same acceptance,
As if this was a confirming reception.

You are where you've been.
Catching up with a made up mind...
Finding that times have changed.

Should You Wish To Know The Source

Should you wish to know the Source,
From which your brothers drew…
Their strength of soul…
Their comfort, courage, patience, trust,
And iron might to bear their hardships
And suffer without end or measure?

And should you wish to see the Fort
Wherein your fathers refuge sought.
And all their sacred teasures hid,
The refuge that has still preserved
Your nation's soul intact and pure
And when despised, and scorned, and scoffed,
Their faith they did not shame?

And should you wish to see and know
Their Mother, faithful, loving, kind
Who…sheltered them and shielded them.
And lulled them on her lap to sleep?

If you, my brother, know not
Then enter now the House of God,
The House of study, old and gray,
Throughout the scorching summer days
Thoughout the gloomy winter nights,
At morning midday or at eve…
And there you may still behold,
A group of Jews from the exile who bore the yoke of its burden who forget their toil,
through a worn out page of the Talmud.

And then your heart shall guess the truth,
That you have touched the sacred ground
Of a great people's house of life.
And that your eys do gaze upon
The treasure of a nation's soul.

You Took Me All The Way

(eric carmen)
(come on)
When we made love tonight
I swear it felt just like the first time
You took me all the way
I heard you say
You know we can't be wrong
So take me all the way
I need you now
I've wanted you so long
In all of my life, there's no one else
You're still the one
And when you touch me now
The world stands still just like the night when
You took me all the way
I heard you say
You know we can't be wrong
So take me all the way
I need you now
I've wanted you so long
In all of my life, there's no one else
You're still the one
I recall when i looked into your eyes
Ooh, i knew it was meant to be
Then you pulled your body close to mine
Ooh, i shivered when you whispered
"please"
(come on)
"please"
(come on)
"i need to know what it's really like, come on"
(come on)
"come on"
(come on)
I'll show you what it's really like
I'll show you what it's like
I'm gonna show you my love
You took me all the way
I heard you say
You know we can't be wrong
So take me all the way
I need you now
I've wanted you so long
In all of my life, there's no one else
You're still the one
You took me all the way
I heard you say
You know we can't be wrong
So take me all the way
I need you now
I've wanted you so long
You took me all the way
I heard you say
You know we can't be wrong
So take me all the way
I need you now
I've wanted you so long
