If I could make the big orange sun

If I could make the big orange sun
hang forever
over the horizon
and the magic colours
that is light yellow, golden
and goes from orange to red
touch some clouds
and could also get
the blue of the sky,
it would have been
a beautiful painting
and I would want it like
Vincent van Gogh’s
starry night.

Don't Make the River Home

Don’t make the river home.
Rivers can turn wild,
Tossing you about with no care for how you land,
Bashing your bones once you do.

Rivers rage with
Perilous potency
That rends limbs and souls;
Sudden fury to blind or behold.

The river can heal,
Sustain life,
Then jerk it away in a flashing splash.
Visit the river

Don’t make the river home.

Make The Most Of Midlife

if you wait about what midlife
has to offer

you become a loser
because you expect an offering of such age

midlife is an age of giving
of making other people's dreams come true

make the most of it
let others grow let others have their own way

watch them
bloom
watch them
find their destinies

watch them
laugh

and then you are
what you want to be

a kingmaker
a dream weaver

a happy person
simply watching time go by.

Just another suicide that wont make the news

I'm to be a person who takes ther life.
Countless times I have tried.
Maybe one day I will succed.
But I'll only be another suicide that dosen't make the news.
My life is full of pain.
It's had more downs than ups.
I know I will leave a void in peoples hearts.
I don't want to hurt anybody.
Truly I don't.
But try as hard as I try.
I still hurt them anyway.
I never asked for this pain.
I have nothing to gain.
I only want to end my pain.

But now it's to late.
I honestly belive this is the only way.
I'm just another suicide that wont make the news.

You Make the Sunshine of my Heart

You make the sunshine of my heart
And its tempestuous shower;
Sometimes the thought of you is like
A lilac bush in flower,
Yea, honey-sweet as hives in May.
And then the pang of it will strike
My bosom with a fiery smart,
As though love's deeply planted dart
Drained all its life away.

My thoughts hum round you, Dear, like bees
About a bank of thyme,
Or round the yellow blossoms of
The heavy-scented lime.
Ah, sweeter you than honeydew,
Yet dark the ways of love,
For it has robbed my soul of peace,
And marred my life and turned heart's-ease
Into funereal rue.

Sonnet: God, Make the World Better

Build me a mantle of protection, Lord,
With fervent prayers that I Thee offer;
From evil men, safety I can’t afford;
Security of life, Thou must proffer.

The evil minds are far too many God;
The righteous men I see are far too few;
The world has gone crazy and appears ‘mod, ’
Most sinful acts escape punishments due.

Thou art the only One in whom I trust;
With Thee beside, no one dare pluck one hair!
Oh, bring Thy tempest /deluge/ famine/ gust,
And make the world order, once again fair.

The world is now unfit for most good men;
Thy Will be done on earth as in Heaven.

We Just Have To Make The Best Of It...

these are the lines of
a 90 year-old widower just put in the nursing home
trying to put the pieces again
those past parts
no longer fit as she agrees with her son
that she does not serve
any purpose
at all in that old house
with a closed door never to be opened again
how she resigned from the usual cooking and baking
and putting the flowers in the vase
half watered
as she talks to another wrinkled woman sitting next to her
she mutters, 'Lady, we just have to make the best of what we are now'

Then the other quipped, 'Do i look ninety? '

Outside the nursing home,
the snow begins to fall.

Make The World Go Away

(words & music by hank cochran)
Make the world go away
Get it off my shoulder
Say the things we used to say
And make the world, make it go away
Do you remember when you loved me
Before the world took you away
Well if you do, then forgive me
And make the world, make it go away
Make the world go away
Get it off my shoulder
Say the things we used to say
And make the world, make it go away
Now Im sorry if I hurt you
Let me make it up to you day by day
And if you will please forgive me
And make the world, make it go away
Make the world go away
Get it off my shoulder
Say the things we used to say
And make the world, make it go away

The Chair Don't make the Man

People see me in this chair and whisper look at that poor man over there. They believe my life is wasted all because I’m in this chair. Well I got some to say that I want you all to hear. Just like clothes don’t really make a man neither does a chair. The chair is just what I use to get me for here to there. Just like people who walk use their legs to get them everywhere. Because besides the chair I’m just like you; I laugh, I cry and yes I have sex too. Now that you all know the next time you see me don’t whisper look at that poor man over there. In fact don’t say anything just remember the chair don’t make the man.

Make The Most Of It!

Said the Junior Dean.

What isIt
that we should make the most of it?
What have we
that we can justly boast of it?

We have inherited our share of wealth;
and karma and good sense
have brought us health.
Time weighs not on our hands
and, as things stand,
we have sufficient
and do not rightly understand
if of Time we think ourselves deficient.

But what if, as in the parable, we have concealed
our talent in the ground,
and, newly dead, the fruit
of our labours is revealed
and nothing found
and all has been in vain?
Then, downward spiralling, off we go again
to land, with new bruises, in some older state,
to sift through the ashes
of the bonfire of our desires
and stare into the shadows of “too late”.

Irving and Ahmadinejad make the case

I'm glad David Irving is free
He should never have been on trial
Nor jailed on charges in Austria
Of Holocaust denial

I am glad of Ahmadinejad
And his conference on how many
Of my people were murdered
In gas chambers. If any.

Our Shoah should never cease to be
The ground of fierce debate
Its meaning for humanity
Its horror and its weight

They serve us, these provocateurs
To confirm we're hated well
To keep our vigilance, or be
Dispatched again to hell.

Reminding us to speak and witness
Not just for ourselves
But for all the persecuted
Peoples of this earth. (*)

Those who live among survivors
Know each Shoah is unique:
The depths of human cruelty
Are familiar and antique.

And concerning all the History
They would steal and then erase:
Their hatred and our evidence
Will forever make the case.

How Do You Make the Gorilla Com on Pocket God? - A Found Poem

.
Light the torches using lightning,
place one islander on that central beacon

(he'll stick there spread eagle) .

Then, place one islander on
the drums on the right side,
and one on the crank on the left.

Their eyes will glow red.

Make sure it is night time,
then in a circular motion with
your finger, make the possessed
little dude on the left turn the crank,
spreading the hapless guy in the middle out

... but JUST until the little lights on
the bottom of the altar turn on...

crank too far and he'll explode.

THEN, FINALLY, lightly tap the
drums under the islander on the right...
and voila.

King Kong will eat the guy on the altar.

From there, you will have a bored gorilla.

Make The Man Love Me

Lord I haven't ask for anything
In such a long, long time
Not since that brand new party dress
When I was eight or nine
And I know the world's in such a stench
You got a lot to do
But if you ever find yourself
With a minute or two
Won'tcha please
[Chorus:]
Make the man love me
Ah make the man see
I'd be so good for him
If he'd start letting me
Come on now
Make the man love me
Ah make the man care
Just open up his heart, Lord
And I'll take it from there
Lord I know that he needs me
It's just he don't know
And my heart so full of him
It's gonna overflow
And so if you should have a miracle
You wanna do up right
Ah won'tcha take him by the hand
And show him the light
Won'tcha you please
[Chorus]
Oh I want him
Lord how I want him
To make some love to me
Won'tcha make him see
How sweet it could be
So come on come on now
[Chorus]

You Can Make The World To Live In

You Can make the World to live in a far better place
Not for yourself alone but for the whole human race
By treating everyone as your equal if you look you will find
That those different to you in their ways good and kind.

Racism born of ignorance that does seem fair to say
And racists seem out of place in the World of today
In a multicultural World they do not fit in
If you do not show respect then respect you cannot win.

Some people in their small ways are so very small
They believe on a fair go for their own kind but not on a fair go for all
In a multicultural society they have no part to play
They are self defeatist it does seem that way.

We are what we think we are and it does seem to me
That our reflective mirror in others we see
If the spirit of egalatarianism and the fair go for all we embrace
The World for us living in it is a much better place.

People Make The World Go Round

People...
(round and round and around...)
People make the world go round
(round and round and around...)
Teachers on strike, no more school today
They want more money but the board wont pay
People
Everybodys talkin bout ecology
The airs so polluted that its hard to breathe
People
Rrefrain
But thats what makes the world go round
The ups and downs a carousel
Changing peoples heads around
Go underground young men...
People make the world go round...
Old folks judge you by the clothes you wear
Theyd swear youre a hippy if you have long hair
Young politicians fight for poverty
While people still cry for equality
Refrain
But thats what makes the world go round
The ups and downs a carousel
Changing peoples heads around
Go underground young men...
People make the world go round...
(instrumental)
Refrain
But thats what makes the world go round
The ups and downs a carousel
Changing peoples heads around
Go underground young men...
People make the world go round...

We Make The Weather

Heaven is a somewhere locked inside and I must find the key
Wish Id never locked the door
Ordinary things in life are where this heaven likes to be
Hold the sky, feet on the floor
Hold the sky, feet on the floor
We make our sun to shine
We make our space and time
We make the weather
We make it change
Hell is not somewhere but a state of mind I choose to be
When my faith in life has gone
Cruelty rebounds to hurt itself puts shackles on the free
Vicious circle carries on
Hold the sky, feet on the floor
We make our sun to shine
We make our space and time
We make the weather
We make it change
We make the weather
We make it change
Time to judge the act dont judge the actor of the circumstance
Time to free compassions world
Life is not the end were passing through like bubbles on the sea
Time to learn and time to mend
Hold the sky, feet on the floor
We make our sun to shine
We make our space and time
We make the weather
We made a change
We make the weather
We make a change

Make The Deal

Time after time you told me it was the truth
Time after time you lied to me through your tooth
How can you sing when everyone writes your song
You think you pull the strings and I get strung along
Ba, ba, ba, ba
So cry, won't you cry
You should have saved that for youth
And does it elevate the stakes
When you try to find the truth
In the real world they make real deals
And it hurts your cause and it clips your heels
And I would not hesitate
To say that I will not be here again
In the real world
It's not my way to slap you in the face
When it seems your way to spell dis with a grace
Where are your friends theyr'll moving on
Why do you get paid when everyone writes your song
In the real world but you make the deals
And it hurts some more till you just can't feel
And I would not hesitate
To say that I will not be here again
Save the real world for the suits in the cells
Who only think they're free when freedom sells
And I would not hesitate
To say that I will not be here again
In the real world

Did I Make the Maidens Blush

Did I make the maidens blush?
Discretion guides me and says, "Hush";
That I am still a man of lust
Time coyly chides me, "What's your rush? "
Speak not of what goes on in bed
That's a subject best left unsaid,
For in that place all truths revealed,
The naked heart can't be concealed;
That female asks what is your pleasure
The male responds with signs of measure;
The generous and kind of heart
Will laugh and play the mothers part,
And enjoy the naked look of him
And satisfy his every whim;
But should her heart be cold, constricted,
He will find himself restricted;
Certain regions out of bounds,
The sheets drawn up with hissing sounds;
Beneath her blanket squats a neurotic
Confused by what he calls erotic;
Fears aroused, (note: not his penis)
She shows him fat not found on Venus.
Inadequate and stilled by fright,
Romance now girded, out of sight;
Disgruntled in the coming dawn
Hope escapes across the lawn;
The one with whom he would have lain
Runs off angry full of blame.
All true lovers should surely know:
Beware the Maiden who fidgets so.

Today...The Kids Make The Demands

I am not going to say,
One of my three sisters and I...
Were model children growing up.
Although we were told,
We had faces of angels.
And upon hearing those say this,
My mother would smile knowing...
Angels? No!

Whenever my mother disciplined us,
She would describe in detail...
What was about to happen.
And 'then' sent us out looking for a good 'switch'.
Meaning? Pick a nice twig off of a bush outside.
Clean it of its leaves...
And bring it to her to inspect before she whipped us,
For not doing what we were told to do in the first place.
Confusing but so effective!

I agree,
There were moments of contradictions and dysfunctions...
When applying my mother's punishments to our misdeeds,
However...
We did not question or argue.
AND 'if' I should raise my eyebrow as if to disagree...
Just the doing of it would deliver that switch to my behind.
My mother did not play when she told us to do as she said.
The only thing that bothered me was her crying after whipping us.

Today...
The kids make the demands.
And not a tear to dropp from their eyes.
Today...
Kids will call 911 to report child abuse.
