All that is Forever Was
All that was forever is and will be forever more
Cast a circle, kiss the wind, and walk on through the door.
All that is forever was yet remains just like before
You say this feeling’s all of my love yet I’d vouch that it was yours
All that is forever was and will be forever more
Dance in circles, hear sirens sing, walk on through the door.
I’ll meet you on the other side of Dawn's fresh twilight gaze
I'll greet you with a smile as we walk on through the maze;
This Labyrinth of splendour in which we may spend our days
Will lead us round in circles, will leave us sorely crazed.
Ever walking hand in hand join with me in unison
Grant me the grace to share with out the beauty of this land,
For let it be known that it has past been said that it is not we
Who inherit the Earth from our ancestors but it is we who
Borrow the love of our most gracious mother from our children.
It is they upon their clouds of cotton candy innocence that understand
And love Our Lady the most; it is for them that she plays host so
That they may understand that the ghosts of their forefathers
Are those same spirits that may once more be born unto this realm.
We are those that uphold a truth in unison with harmony,
We are those that were never told to keep steady at the helm
Yet now as I emerge from a life of decadent indulgence I perceive
A vision forming, now as every moment alongside every movement
Is significant as the farthest star, now liquid branches move in languid
Formations, casting shadows that open stairwells to the kingdom of
Shades. Upon a bridge of ivory the spirit of temptation wages duel
With the angel that guides my hand, they fight upon the subject of my
Soul, the angel fights to make me whole whilst the demon consoles
Himself in knowing that the battle may never be won, for they are as
One in the same and know that neither will strike the other severely
In fear of disrupting the balance of their natures law. The demon tempts
Me with scenes of drug fuelled orgies, he promises wisdom through
The blanket night, promises light without light, clarity without purity,
He promises the kiss of a thousand virgin souls, he promises wealth
Beyond the reach of green eyed dreams yet the angel whispers
Honesty and perceives in my eyes a wish to know the truth of my
Creation, he knows that I wish to hold true the girl of dreamtime
Wandering and he knows that I would be happy in her arms alone.
The angel promises romance to exist beyond its burial within this age,
He promises that beyond the turning of the page that no more wars
Will be waged in the clawing for black gold, he promises that I may
Grow old with dignity if I commit myself not to purity but moderation,
The devil screams excess it demands my greed enflamed but I
Understand moderation to be the key within a realm of appreciation,
For if we are to indulge we are also to refrain, if it is to be a golden
Summer we require a springtime rain. If we are to know pleasure
May it only be from a knowledge of pain and through self

A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue, but moderation in principle is always a vice.

On this subject I do not which to think, or speak, or write, with moderation. No No Tell a man whose house is on fire to give a moderate alarm tell him to moderately rescue his wife from the hands of the ravisher tell the mother to gradually extricate her babe from the fire into which it has fallen but urge me not to use moderation in a cause like the present. I am in earnest I will not equivocate I will not retreat a single inch and I will be heard.

Tired
You've been talking for an hour,
and I swear to God that I can't hear a word you say
So would you come to me, come to me
I get caught up and the waves of conversation they wash over me
And they cover me, they cover me
Should I just pack my things and leave
Would I be a bigger man if I built a wall around your heart
and dared you to come in
I could lie to you and say I didn't mean it
But hurts a funny thing and it makes you stronger
[chorus:]
All is nothing in moderation
It's a dirty feeling and it makes you stronger
Well I believe I'm just plain tired
There's a funny way your lip shakes when I know that you've been lying,
and it touches me
It comforts me, it comforts me
I guess I should be satisfied, did you say you love me half the time
Well let's settle there, we can build from there, build from there
Would you be happier if I was only half the man I am
You could shadow me and dare me to come in
I could lie to you and say I didn't mean it
But it really doesn't matter when you stop to think about it
[CHORUS]
The end is coming she don't even feel it
It's a strange sensation, I'm almost happy
Well I believe I'm just plain tired, I'm tired (oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Should I just pack my things and leave
Would I be a bigger man if I built a wall around your heart
and dared you to come in
I can lie to you, say I didn't mean it
But hurts a funny thing, hurts a funny thing
[CHORUS]
The end is coming she don't even feel it
It's a strange sensation, I'm almost happy
Well I believe I'm just plain tired, tired
Well all is nothing in moderation
Dirty feeling, strange sensation
I believe, I believe
Believe I'm tired

The King and the Shepherd
Through ev'ry Age some Tyrant Passion reigns:
Now Love prevails, and now Ambition gains
Reason's lost Throne, and sov'reign Rule maintains.
Tho' beyond Love's, Ambition's Empire goes;
For who feels Love, Ambition also knows,
And proudly still aspires to be possest
Of Her, he thinks superior to the rest.
As cou'd be prov'd, but that our plainer Task
Do's no such Toil, or Definitions ask;
But to be so rehears'd, as first 'twas told,
When such old Stories pleas'd in Days of old.
A King, observing how a Shepherd's Skill
Improv'd his Flocks, and did the Pastures fill,
That equal Care th' assaulted did defend,
And the secur'd and grazing Part attend,
Approves the Conduct, and from Sheep and Curs
Transfers the Sway, and changed his Wool to Furrs.
Lord-Keeper now, as rightly he divides
His just Decrees, and speedily decides;
When his sole Neighbor, whilst he watch'd the Fold,
A Hermit poor, in Contemplation old,
Hastes to his Ear, with safe, but lost Advice,
Tells him such Heights are levell'd in a trice,
Preferments treach'rous, and her Paths of Ice:
And that already sure 't had turn'd his Brain,
Who thought a Prince's Favour to retain.
Nor seem'd unlike, in this mistaken Rank,
The sightless Wretch, who froze upon a Bank
A Serpent found, which for a Staff he took,
And us'd as such (his own but lately broke)
Thanking the Fates, who thus his Loss supply'd,
Nor marking one, that with amazement cry'd,
Throw quickly from thy Hand that sleeping Ill;
A Serpent 'tis, that when awak'd will kill.
A Serpent this! th' uncaution'd Fool replies:
A Staff it feels, nor shall my want of Eyes
Make me believe, I have no Senses left,
And thro' thy Malice be of this bereft;
Which Fortune to my Hand has kindly sent
To guide my Steps, and stumbling to prevent.
No Staff, the Man proceeds; but to thy harm
A Snake 'twill prove: The Viper, now grown warm
Confirm'd it soon, and fasten'd on his Arm.
Thus wilt thou find, Shepherd believe it true,
Some Ill, that shall this seeming Good ensue;

Moderation
A message to the third heaven,
My blindness is now removed;
A message to the third heaven,
With written credentials in the depth of love;
For now i can clearly see.
Phrygia, Pamphylia and Egypt;
I can now see very clearly on this love like,
A message to the beautiful gate of love.
My heart is for you and i am with joy!
So let your moderation be known to all;
Like the message to your beautiful gate of love.
My tongue is glad and my heart is at peace,
Like a message to your beautiful gate of love;
My heart is with joy and my mind is full of your blues,
But let your moderation be known on this love;
Like the crown of rejoicing after the blue movies.
I am he whom you do seek,
Of the stars of joy and the mark of love;
Behold! My mind do seek you too.

Former and Latter
If I Weep,
I want
it to be Torrents;
if I Cry, ,
make it Tsunami;
if I Lust
have me be Ravenous;
If Sad,
have my eyes
Glow in the Dark.
Empathy for me
must be Complete;
Love All Consuming;
Pity must be
the Heights of Grief;
Death must be
Really Dead.
No half way measures;
they are the Necro-Nibbles of Life.
The Greeks counseled
Moderation in all things
but they did not;
Democracy is an extreme
form of Individualism
and Sexually they
did not
cease at the Moderation Crease.
The Truth here
is that Creativity
only comes at the extremes
but not without its price;
one that I will pay
for an Extreme Life
rather than the alternative-
Slow Moderate Death.
These are sometimes
choices we make;
giddy Risky Risk
or Slow Suffocation;

Moderation I
Of all the many treasures
that fill my treasure chest
One of all I cherish
More dearly than the rest
Her name is Moderation
Moderation in all things
And men and Nature prosper
where she unfurls her wings.
She is fair as a flower
the dewy dropp begems
or like a morning pure and clear
the starry night indemns.
or even like the Morning Star
that pranks the new-borne sky
and flicks its beams more brightly-far
as nearby diamonds die.
The evening she presides on
is broken by the day
as breaks the wave on Baie sand
that's born on Baie's bay.
Her morning hours tick slowly
and dawdle pleasantly
as loathe to leave unladen
with fruits of husbandry.
Always clear her windows
Cream is sweet in the bowl
A maelstrom could not rattle
her servant's inward idyl.
Two smocks only has she-
one fine for Sunday wear
yet put her by the lily
and say which is the fairer.
She will shrink from nothing
no sport or raillery
or nearly none, repels her
but only its degree.

Moderation II
She might converse with angels
as with a fool or clown
and might well chat with blackguards
but turns their mischief down.
And she might now a dropp taste
but knows what a cork is for
for every dropp admitted
resisted a score score.
Wise men entertain her
and though she owns no home
is welcome at their tables
whereever she may roam.
Her eldest child is winter-born
his name is Industry
Her youngest, May-born Mercy mild,
who speaks best with her eyes.
Time but improves her-
she is easlier lovlier now
than when I introduced her
some twenty years ago.
Oh, I'm a rogue and a scoundrel
and a pleasure-driven fool
but I love Moderation
she is my clearest jewel!
I love you, Moderation
and mean to love you more
and if it's blessed I come to be
it's you I'll thank it for.

16. Of Gluttony and Feasting
He shows a fool in every wise
Who day and night forever hies
From feast to feat to fill his paunch
And make his figure round and staunch,
As though his mission he were filling
By drinking too much wine and swilling
And bringing hoar-frost o’er the grape.
In to the fool’s ship toss the ape,
He kills all reason, is not sage,
And will regret it in old age.
His head and hands will ever shake,
His life a speedy end may take,
For wine’s a very harmful thing,
And man shows no strong reasoning
Who only drinks for sordid ends,
A drunken man neglects his friends
And knows no prudent moderation,
And drink leads to fornication;
It oft induces grave offense,
A wise man drinks with common sense.
For wine old Noah cared no whit,
Although he found and planted it;
By wine Loth twice to sin was led,
Through wine the Baptist lost his head,
Through wine a wise man comes to prate
And set a fool’s cap on his pate;
When Israelites were drunk with wine
And glutted full like silly swine,
They gamboled then in highest glee
And had to dance in revelry.
To Aaron’s sons did God decree
That abstinent and chaste they be
And that to wine they should not turn,
But this decree the priests would spurn.
King Holofernes too when drunk,
He had his head cut off his trunk;
To feasts Tomyris had recourse
When old King Cyrus she would force;
Wine caused the fall of Ben-hadad,
Deprives was he of all he had;
When Alexander played the sot
His honor, virtue he forgot
And practiced deeds in drunkenness
That presently brought sad distress.
The rich man reveled once so well
That on the morn he ate in hell.
Man would not be a slave, in fine,
If he disowned the demon wine:
Are wine and sumptuous food your itch?
You’ll not be happy, not get rich.
