And All That Could Have Been

Breeze still carries the sound
maybe i'll disappear
tracks will fade in the snow
you won't find me here
Ice is starting to form
ending what had begun
I am locked in my head
with what I've done
I know you tried to rescue me
didn't let anyone get in
left with a trace of all that was
And all that could have been
Please
take this
and run far away
far away from me
I am tainted
the two of us
were never meant to be
all these pieces
and promises and left behinds
if only I could see
In my nothing
You meant everything
everything to me
gone fading everything
And all that could have been
Please
take this
and run far away
far as you can see
I am tainted
and happiness and peace of mind
were never meant for me
all these pices
and promises and left behinds
if only I could see
In my nothing
You meant everything
everything to me

I Walk And Am Happy-I Have Been Given So Much In My Life

I WALK AND AM HAPPY

I walk and am happy
I have been given so so much in my life-
And yet I want more-
What is Man that Thou are mindful of him?
I have been given so much
And yet there is always the next something
Or the long –longed for and never given something
That does not free me.

I walk and am happy
And for a time
Forget my own unhappiness-
But I know that restlessness will soon come again
And I in my desire and longing
Will inwardly and deceitfully believe-
‘If only I receive the one thing I want’
All will be well forever.

I have been sentenced by the blues

I have been sentenced
by the blues and that music
cuts right through me,
like a chilling electric saw
grinding at the fabric of my soul.

Maybe there’s more to this story
than what these few lines tell
and the blues
have no fascination for me
and just leave memories,
of how sad life can be
and the strings played

by a child hooked on drugs
who would never be free.

I have to be a father, father

There Should Have Been More Poems Of Gratitude And Joy

There should have been more poems of Gratitude and Joy
Too much has been Sadness and Despair-
There should have been more poems of other people
And not so much of myself -
There should have been more metaphor
And less one- dimensional statement-

There should have been more Poetry in my Poetry
And more Inspiration and Blessing and Love-
Small worry and anxiety have been too much-
Oh the Beauty and the Goodness
I have been given in Life,
And how I have not known how to write it well enough.

Forgive As You Have Been Forgiven - Acrostic #3

Forgive as you have been forgiven
Overcome the pain by setting it free
Remember He paid for all of it
Grace and mercy for you and me
In your heart release the burden
Verily you have the keys to the prison
Each bitter memory kept you forsaken.

Ask not for vengeance or retribution
Seek that the offender be blessed

Yesterday can never be brought back
Only nagging scars rob you of happiness
Until you let go, peace you will always lack.

Heaven is here where you are
As He promised He will never leave you
Vast is His forgiveness, it is not far
Each one can be touched by Him, it's true.

Be at peace with yourself by forgiving
Eternity is too long for silent anger
Enjoy the freedom of the sun shining!
No heaviness carried now and hereafter.

Forgive and you are also forgiven
Offer it up to the Past Who is waiting
Resolve to forget and never look back
Gladly receive the relief you've been seeking
It all depends on you and your choice
Vexations only make life hard for living
Everything will pass, it's time to rejoice!
Now let go of it, and go with Forgiving.

When Fixed Mindsets Have Been Focused

Common sense is not obtained,
Through an academic process.
Not any that reflects wisdom respected,
By the many earning college degrees.

If experience could be taught,
And brought to a mind fixed on 'things'...
All of life and the quality of it,
Would have had witnessed the benefits of this.

But too busy are those in mental modes,
Driven to succeed and address their greed.
And when fixed mindsets have been focused,
On acquiring attention freed of comprehension...
There is no peace or rest to get if not earned.

How Sad This World Of Beauty Might Have Been

How sad this world of beauty might have been
How sad the leaves that do not know the beauty of their own green names
How sad the sound of sadness in its sinking down
How sad when no real sadness makes sadness so real
How sad and less than glad are we all
Savoring our own sadness-

Let it go away
Let it play elsewhere
Let joy and laughter make sadness a forgotten moment
Let joy and laughter even be our song to ourselves
Let's try
A new world is waiting for those capable of writing and listening to a poem
That has not a single note of sadness left in it.

The Only Way To Understand What We Have Been Talking About...

let me write about peace then.

the irony is that peace has no use of words,
like silence,

when you utter it, it is not there anymore.

let me paint peace then, ah, the very sound of the brush disturbs it,
the way we choose the color, creates an argument

let me have a camera and take a picture of peace,
disregard the click and the flash

just imagine it,

early dawn, a fisherman casts his net on a noiseless sea
all the fish have gone to the other side of the island.

the earlier you accept that you have been rightfully abandoned
the easier is it to understand what we have been talking about.

I Wish I Could Have Been There

This song was first released on the whose garden was this? album. it is the only album it has been released on.
I wish i could have been there on the highway
When the people came from miles around to see
The children of the flowers come together
I wish i could have been there in the sunshine
With the sound of lovely laughter in the air
And the music makers first began to play
To hear them play
And i wish i could have been there in the rain
When the clouds were full of castles in the sky
And i wish i could have heard the people sing
As the rhytmn and the words came floating by
I wish i could have been there in the starlight
When the country side was trying once again
And the music and the makers the poets and the singers
And the children of the flowers have all gone
Words and music by john denver

I Could Have Been....

there are so many things
already that i have forgotten

of which i may remember but always with
regret

i could have been something else other
than a hammer to a nail

i always dream of wings of a hawk
claws of an eagle i still detest

i could have been a cloud, soft and blue and
drifting

all over the world
watching glaciers break and fall and turn into a flood

or water
i could have gone back to where i was once a child
and do swimming in the river with my naked innocent friends

where we do not plan for the day
about what to eat and where to work next and next and next

i could have been so irresponsible and innocent and weak
and die without regret

young and will always be mourned and remembered and then
well oh well just like everything and everyone

being let go and simply be forgotten.

The Blinfold Have Been Loosened

The Magna Carta
A symbol of equity

The Magna Carta
The significance of relishing justice
To young and old
Men or women
Affluent or downtrodden

The Magna Carta
The white sculptured piece
Its eyes blinded shut
The sword wherewithal
To apportion rightly
The flicker of equity

But the blindfold have been loosened
By the shoddy wind
And the scales is off the eyes

Can it now see?
Why render justice selectively?
Are the goods ceded to he that bids highly?
Not in fact but in kind?

Ah! Has the wind decided to follow only one direction?
Taking the rain, only to robust farms?
I hope I can rest upon the clause;
“Ubi jus, ibi remedium”
As always would be my case

Yet I’m still the grass the elephants trample upon
The case for humane was forgotten at home

Ughh! This cat needs to wear the bell
But when?

Their Mindsets Have Been Fixed Upon Self Reflection

They were told.
They were WARNED!
And they,
Ignored.
But...
The hyprocrites found time to pray.

And prayed they did and some all day,
To have things 'specifically' done their way.
Believing themselves to be left in charge to command.
And across the land,
They popularized their misdeeds.
With an increasing arrogance that kept others oppressed.
Believing themselves to be blessed...
To perform acts of stubbornness,
Instead of selecting to perform acts of correctness.

They were told.
They were WARNED!
And they,
Ignored.
But...
The hyprocrites found time to pray.

And today...
They collect themselves in groups to protest.
Upset by the truth that has come their way.
And today,
Their mindsets have been fixed upon self reflection.
But not a mirror will get them to see,
An overdue need...
To self examine with an honesty they can not face.

U. Have Been F.O.'d

A new system comes,
As to how things will be done.
And those believing a return is on hold...
Will soon know and be told,
Those of old...
Have been sold to the past!

The ones in control today,
Have booted thieves of greed out!
And they will be publicly tried,
For crimes of treason.

The worthless dollar,
Is just that!
Valueless.
And that's a fact.

Some will say the new way,
Has socialistic traits.
With an equalness identified...
Regardless of color, lost status and race.

This is slowly being replaced.
Right before all conscious eyes.
And those nonbelievers still making demands...
Are going to be traumatized, shocked
And quite surprised...
As to who now calls the shots!
Since not one of them who do it,
Will have European ties!
Not one who now rules the New World.

There is no need to speculate or debate your fate.
'That' has already been determined!
U. have been F.O.'d

'Should we remove the invisible shields now? '

~Why?
This is too much fun.~

Even When They Have Been Teased

There are people everywhere,
Caring less they are sinking fast...
Into thick quicksand.
There are those who stand by,
Offering a helping hand...
But they are being demeaned.
It seems those who have come,
To rescue some,
Are being taunted by the ones
Who still want to flaunt their delusions.
And hold onto things that keep them sinking!

And prayers to free and release them...
Those in this fix,
Have been dismissed.
Since the others with faith,
And making gestures to save them...
Were the same 'outcasts' not invited,
To the last social ball!
That kind of sickness should appall them all!
But it doesn't.

The ones who sink...
Prefer those of status and name recognition,
To reach out with lifelines to assist in their survival!
And as they sink fast,
Those observing this...
Are deeply saddened by the ignorance displayed!
But this scene does not keep them dismayed.
They will always choose to dance in Sun!
Even when they have been teased,
To blindly leap into disaster!

Victor Should Have Been A Jazz Musician

I went to a concert, to see nina, simone,
The concert was over, there was still a band playing, the rap up,
The booguh played with his hands, I close my eyes, and look at him,
Victor should have been a jazz musician,
I said to myself, victor should have been a jazz musician,
I looked at his face, and I saw victor, looked at his smile, and I saw victor,
I looked at his hair, and thought,
Victor should have been a jazz musician,
Victor should have been a jazz musician,
And the people dancing on the floor, dancing on the floor, were so high,
You should have seen victor smile, you should have seen victor smile,
As they danced all the while all around on the floor, and he laughed,
Victor should have been a jazz musician,
Oh, victor should have been a jazz musician,
He was playing so nice, the jazz musician,
Ah, ah,
Hes living in a fast beat, in a city thats hot,
Telling all the latinos and puerto ricans, victor seems happy, but he doesnt even know himself, hes gotta look inside to know his first love,
Victor was a jazz musician, he was playing so nice, victor was a jazz musician, (? ) victor was a jazz musician,
Victor loves his music, he loves his music, somewhere, he plays his music, somewhere,
Victor is a jazz musician,
Jazz.

Many 'Boos' Have Been Booted

Many 'boos' have been booted,
With their hearts left in pain.
Many boos have been booted,
To the curbs they have been scooted.

And,
Many have adopted a new campaign.
Those boos have been booted,
To the curbs they have been scooted.

Nicknames once adopted for each other have gone.
And now they're out to prove they are nobody's ding-dongs.
Many 'boos' have been booted,
And the pain they feel will not be...
Muted.

Many 'boos' have been booted,
With their hearts left in pain.
Many boos have been booted,
To the curbs they have been scooted.

And,
Many have adopted a new campaign.
Trying to shake an old boo from their game.
Many boos have been booted,
To the curbs they have been scooted.
And...
Those boos scooted try to get unhooked.
But with their noses opened it is hard to shake that look.
Those poor boos broken with a booting from the coop...
Have been de-rooted.

Ma-many 'boos' have been booted,
With their hearts left in pain.
Many boos have been booted,
To the curbs they have been scooted.

And those boos scooted try to get unhooked,
But with their noses opened it is hard to shake that look.
Those poor boos broken with a booting from the coop...
Can not accept they've been de-rooted.
Bruised boos!
Those poor boos broken with a booting from the coop,
Have been de-rooted.

I don't regret what might have been.

When the sun sets and the world is still.
I seek release in solitude
This is my time for memories
Some I can recall vividly
Selected from the multitude
Of dreams which I could not fulfil.

Some were my own and some were not
I can look back in retrospect.
Though some quite unexpectedly
Decide to surface suddenly.
Each one is worthy of respect
Although they have been long forgot.

The quiet time that lies between
The end of day and fall of night
Would seem to be appropriate
To sit alone and meditate
After the sun fades from sight
and contemplate what might have been.

Eventually I must conclude.
That I am where I’m meant to be
Some times I tried only to fail
My efforts were to no avail.
When I look back nostalgically
I know it’s just an interlude.

I’m well aware that all too soon.
I must accept reality.
The humdrum world of every day.
Is never very far away
And banishes my reverie
Beneath newly risen moon.

I face the morrow with a smile
Because I know the sun will set
Then I seek my solitude
Enjoy the peace and quietude.
That I so very seldom get.
If only for a little while.

I tend to stick to my routine
I am too old to change my ways
I see no reason why I should
The peace and quiet does me good
As I review my glory days.
I don’t regret what might have been.

It Could Have Been Eden

Let me tell you something that I remember
from so long ago
but it seems like only yesterday to me
and is still fresh in my memory.

A dusty sand track meandering
past a hillock and a great oak tree
and in the early morning ripe lying like snow
and a spring flowing with clear sweet water,
the freshest that I have ever tasted,
the sun glowing as a huge orange ball
the sky bright blue

and you swimming in the stream
totally naked without concern
as if it was the most natural thing
and that winter could have been spring
and I couldn’t stop looking at your body,
your big breast and aroused nipples
while I was feeling perverse, wicked
and you smiled at me gently.

How old had we been?
A boy of thirteen, but grown to full size
and a girl of sixteen with the body of a woman
and you were the most beautiful
delightful being that I had ever seen
and on that first meeting

totally nude you led me by the hand
to the barn, to the haystack
that we used as a bed
where you laid with me,
laid on your back
learnt me the pleasures of your body

and the taste of your lips,
the touch of your fingertips
I remember, but much more
the sheer rapture
of making love to you

and then suddenly, unexpectedly
the angel with the flaming lantern
and weapon in the other hand
stood in the barn door
which led almost to our capture

and while he was looking,
trying to see if anything
had crept into the barn
we lay totally motionless
and you demanded another kiss
and when he walked out
you were aflame with even more passion.
