I got so wrapped up and locked into perfection.
Thinking I should be...
Someone other than me.

And then this hit me up 'side my head...
It was something that you said,
That put a mental hurtin' on me to sting!

'You better look,

To wallow in a pity pit.

One's Addictive Behaviour

To alcohol he lost his young daughter and wife
He says they were not wrong to walk out of his life
For addictive behaviour the price one must pay
And he is one person who sees it this way.

To keep on drinking alcohol the choice he did make
Though he knew in his heart that this was a mistake
He made the wrong choice with his marriage at stake
One's addictive behaviour can cause others heartbreak.

One's addictive behaviour can come at a huge cost
With abuse of health and broken marriages so much to be lost
An addiction of any sort is not a good thing
And the praises of addictive behaviour you won't hear many sing.

For the break up of his marriage his wife he does not blame
Though that he chose alcohol above her and their daughter does cause him some shame
But at conquering an addiction few seem to succeed
'Tis a human frailty the weakness of need.

Suicide III

Suicide is not just about death
Suicide is not just about depressive silence
Suicide is about the dead of the society
Suicide is about the ignoring silence of the masses.
Suicidal, a feeling beyond words
Suicidal, a feeling beyond expression
Suicidal, is synonymous not to death
Suicidal, a feeling, is not far from us.

Dead society with rocky feelings
Ignores the plea set forth by bodily language
Each of us busily busy with our own tasks
Time we have, but not the mind and heart to serve.
For a movie we take the depressed to relieve their stress
For a meal we take the suicidal to kill the seed suicidal
We enjoy the movie, we delightfully swallow the meal
We ‘presume’ our friends too shared the same feelings.

Deep down the deadly stalker lies in abeyance
Waiting to pounce by ounce, the victim remains haplessly helpless
Gnawing deep unto the conscience, into the being it merges
Dead fears them no more, only the moment waits to trigger the END.
We, the proud boastful members of the so-called modern societies
Skeptically ignore the pleas and cries of the few distressed souls
Assuming all is right because the victims look hale external
We let their inner turmoil roots deeper and deeper.

Their inner chattering continues
Contours of their rants appear on the face
The pricks of desperation surround their aura
Yet, we are busy planning the trivial of our lives.
Suicide is not just about death

So Many Potential Despots

So many despotic and potentially despotic leaders in the World of today
Suppose with most people in positions of power it is their natural way
To hang on to power at all cost those they perceive as foes they try to eliminate
As well as their rivals for power all their opponents they do hate
The lust for power is addictive in every power hungry man
And most of them when they get power hang on to it for as long as they can
From power hungry into despots they eventually grow
And from despot to despotic criminal their progression is not slow
The fear spread by despotic leaders is an addictive thing
And even out of fear of them the masses their praises do sing
It started as a lust for power when they were in their life's prime
That progressed through the decades to a life of Major crime
In most of those who lust for power a despot does reside
And because of them far too many good people needlessly have died.

Winter Born and Live

Some people enter the world
to indigo skies,
the sun beams
on their blessed souls
season after season.
Never a day of
storms or showers form,
in their world
there are no winters.
Their grin comes
without expense,
their soul
without pause flourishes.
Groundhog never appears
to see his shadow,
for spring is
constantly assured.
Nothing did they do
to improve or disparage
their springtime birth.
Their blessed eternal Eastertide
is a purely bestowed.
Any other season
but the consecrated
spring they do not know.

Others enter the world
from inception
blizzards never cease
Hardly a day of a sunny beam
before began sqa ually rage spurned
upon their countenance.
One storm flows
in timely order
after the other,
giving them forever winter,
hail and snow and gales.
Zeus did not curse them
for a deed or word,
but in good fortune
they are not superb.
Though if to see their spirits
you would not presume,
