We all write poems; it is simply that poets are the ones who write in words.

They Are The Ones That Others Envy

I have issues with people who leave people...
Begging on the streets with nothing to eat.
Or treat others like they're not even human equals.
And then look disgusted like they are diseased

No human being can teach a cat hygiene.
Nor can you teach a grown up to be clean.
Nobody should be teaching who to respect.
That should be a given and not a pick to peck.

I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
As if they have scents of champion roses.
Ooo I can't believe these people are the ones who stink.
And-they-believe,
They are the ones that others envy?

Who made them runner up for fresh sainthoods?
Who showed them evilness was anything good?
Who gave them rights to think they beam like light?
And who told them they approve the Sun that rises high!

Yes I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
As if they have scents of champion roses.
Ooo I can't believe these people are the ones who stink.
And-they-believe,
They are the ones that others envy?

They believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
They believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.

I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.

I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.

Me and my heart in all its futility

Me and my heart in all its futility
~
I’ve given my heart so freely in the past
As though my thoughts raced ahead of my words
I’ve waited for a chance, an opportunity
I’ve even waited for the answer that did not come
Those silences in which I knew already
But kept trying to convince myself otherwise
Those dreams I held onto were so beautiful
Like a drug they deluded me for a while
Until the come down and realisation
I fought and still fight the pain filled resentment
I do not wish to become bitter filled
Asking those pointless questions over and over
Knowing I will never accept the answer
I try and feed my ego to believe its not me
That they are the ones who have lost in love
They will miss my romantic passions
My loyalty, the kindness I would have offered
Maybe I am not rich enough, what is wealth
Maybe I am not pretty enough, love is in the eye
Maybe they thought me strange, I was a stranger
For they never took the time to know me
I’ve seen my heart run away so often
And I know it will do so again until stopped
I’ll just keep telling myself its not my loss
You give them a chance that they fail to take
You’re a romantic, honest and loyal
You’re a poet and a friend who can be counted
And as futile as me and my heart have been
I’m still here, and I’m still fighting

Verse1:
would you believe me if I said....
that we are the ones who can make the change
in the world today....
would you believe me if I said...
that all of the dreams in your heart
can come true....today
would you believe me if I said...
that life could be all that you want it to be...today..
Chorus:
and if I had wings I would fly
'cause all that I need;you are...
and if the world caved in around me...
to you I'd still hold on
'cause you all that I believe...
and the one that created me...
JESUS...because of you...I'M FREE
Verse2:
would you blieve me if I said...
that God can make miracles happen today....
would you believe me if I said..
that you don't need to wait for the answers before...
you step out in faith...
would you believe me if I said...
that nothing is ever impossible...for God...
Bridge:
just live your life...with God inside..
you wo't regret one moment of it...
and give it all that you can for God,for God

Women*** What Can I Say

women-what can i say about them!
there is so much to say that it can't be written in a day.

they are the foundation of this earth
giving everything in life some worth.
they are the soul and inspiration of all men.
it is very rare that we will admit that we are wrong
but! we'll agree-just so we can get along.

in all relationships we must learn to live together.
so things will start to get better.
but to hear a woman it is one sided
'and we have to buy it'.

they know that without the female- life as we know it will cease to exist, and we will surely die.
this is the reason we continue to try.

they know that they are the ones who give birth
and as children we suckle their breasts so that
we can get stronger.
and when we are older we try to do the same if we can.
but they tend to slap our hand.

women will always argue with men
and the battle we lose in the end.
so if man wants to be loved and caressed
he has to keep his mouth shut.

'so her mouth could have a rest'.

Corporate worlds can be ripe for hate’s cultivation.
Their main purpose is money, materialism’s creation.

But one place where evil can be worse than the rest…
Is a place where the hateful oft’ times invest.
Talking of equality, though thirsting for more power;
Governments may seek rights to mutilate or devour.

By exercising a right that’s more an obligation,
A voter determines his future and that of his nation.
Bought by blood of thousands wounded and dead,
Voting ensures that leaders are the ones who are led.

So choose who you will and you’re sure not to lose
Unless you surrender your power to choose.

Fruitless Connections

Everything one owns,
Or believe to own...
Has a theft connection.
Someone, somewhere...
Has either been deprived,
Or denied.
To enrich philosophies.
With a base in taxation.
To justify division and separation.
As a strategy with racist tactics.
There are surveys and graphics,
To compare demographics.

Those that benefit,
Are the ones who make the rules...
Create and change laws,
To keep it that way.
Making this a preferred existence.
And feeding the minds of many fooled.

And those indoctrinated to pray...
Have been trained to keep their eyes,
On the hereafter...
On Sunday if not everyday.
In the hopes of receiving shimmering halos,
Golden slippers, robes and wings!

And if gospel singing is their thing...
Less truth is induced.
To produce fruitless connections.
With a sweetened pot that is tithed.

Those awakened are labelled blasphemers,
Nonconformers, misfits and perhaps terrorists.
To keep ignorance a commodity to market.
And making sure an emptied pocket,
Is regarded a tradition to be obeyed.

We are the all...

Mystical and magical all are the same
Without doubt none singular is to blame?
Except all meaning and question your finds
For all opposites in all climbs, chime?
Truth is a chemist, who doctors all
Simply put we are the immeasurable.
We are the all...
Whatever the size large or small
We are the all...
At transgressions fall...?

No Lines At All

I once 'starred' in a play.
Some years ago.
And one of the cast members,
Became so upset.
Because my lines got most of the applause.

That same cast member convinced the critics.
Not to mention my name,
In the review of the play.
Although the one complaining,
About my 'scene' stealing.
Had no lines at all.
Not even one to plagiarize.

And these are the people,
Who embellish their experiences.
Throughout their lives.

Sonnet: A Good Poem

My Muse does not me bring riches, I seek;
A life of poverty with it comes meek;
I struggled with Poetry and my Rhymes,
Regardless of night/ day or other climes.

My inspirations most come from above;
These are the best poems and which I love;
These are the ones too, I don’t alter much;
For centuries, they can well stand as such.

I make some poems of my own design;
They aren’t the best always; so, I resign;
Whatever poem’s made, I shouldn’t alter,
Nor do I ever for money, barter.

All good poems that stand the test of time
Are inspired and perspired to rhyme.

Until All Itching Has Been Scratched From It

Truth and popularity do not mix.
In some minds this is an unfit relationship.
And suitable it is to be distanced quick.

Truth and popularity do not mix.
People confronted run and do not sit.
And finding it difficult to be seen near it.

And these are the ones who become upset,
By living lives reflecting their own negligence.
Hiding in denial and deluded by embellishments.

And these are the people who today regret,
Spending their last dime...
To make impressions others forget.
Since impressions themselves,
Leave nothing concrete meant.

Truth and popularity do not mix.
In some minds this is an unfit relationship.
And suitable it is to be distanced quick.
Like that which irritates...
Until all itching has been scratched from it.

When Someone Tells You That You Are Wrong

he stands there
with a pointing finger
telling you that your
skirt is too short
and your legs are
too long,

whatever, he thinks
that you are a mistake of
this universe
and that God perhaps
lost attention
when nature tried to
give you shape

be confident
shy away from people like them
turn inward
find that light inside the
secret place of your heart
and listen:

did it not tell you that you are the precious
child of the universe
that you are no less than the moon and the stars
and the trees
and that by all means you have
the right to be here?

desiderata, right?
recall, and then look straight at that
magnified critique
don't say anything
dismiss him as nothing
but a mistake of
the magician's illusion
he does not exist
it is only you
and nothing else
who really matters

Who Cares

They stand and look at things
with their eyes closed tight.
They claim to see just what others don’t,
branding someone a liar and deceiver.
Sadly, they are the ones
who deceive themselves all the time.
Who worries if someone uses a different name
whenever they sit down to write?
I personally don’t.
Who cares if they make up an age they want to be.
I personally don’t.
Who cares if they exaggerates
about what they may or may not have done.
I personally don’t care.
Everyone no matter who they are
wants to be someone different at sometime or other,
and there is nothing wrong in that.
Just so long at the end of it,
they are happy in their own way.
I have no quarrel
with what anyone does
and I don’t think
anyone else should do neither.

Nod, Stare and Sit...That's It

When people are wrapped up in themselves,
Listen to their conversations.
And the subject given most attention!

One need not listen too closely to realized...
The topic for today is,
Them!
As it was yesterday and will be next week!
One only needs to imagine this.

Usually they are in constant pain.
Seeking to rid themselves of it.
Or speaking of material wishes to gain.
And when they have finished talking about themselves...
They have an urgency to quickly leave.

'Next stop, please.'

After...
Of course,
They finalize their 'visit'.
By stating how disgusting others are.

'Excuse me.
Can't you see I am trying to get off?
You people have no respect at all! '

You people! Ha...
Those are the ones who refuse,
To give them the time of day!
I wouldn't either...
If I wasn't sitting trapped on a bus.
And pretending to be a deaf mute,
Nodding in agreement...
When people like that begin to move their lips.
I nod, stare and sit...that's it!

You Are The One That Brings Joy To Me

With the rays of the sun starting to shine this morning,
when the garden was full of flowers with opening cups,
my heart was confused and without speech,
when you took a shortcut through my thoughts,

I was waiting for you to come home
and I had expectation and hope
but when the time drew nearer I was somewhat stripped.
With the rays of the sun starting to shine this morning,

the beauty of the flowers were disguised in the early twilight
but already the birds wanted to chat
and like a teenager in love I was somewhat stupid,
when the garden was full of flowers with opening cups.

Time suddenly elapsed far too quickly
when suddenly you were coming along the road
and I was wondering how things between us would be,
my heart was confused and without speech,

then a leave was circling twisting round and round
while a weaver dipped its head in the drinking bowl
and you were far prettier that the most beautiful flower,
when you took a shortcut through my thoughts,

when the gate suddenly squealed while opening on my property
with a cloud hanging white like a giant pillowslip,
I realised that you are the one in all of mankind
who brings joy to me, when the day started to end
with the rays of the sun.

Eyes That See In The Dark

Youre not meant to be alone
Ill share your dream
Ill show you love youve never known
Two flames together in the deep of the night
Im up in your love
Close by you when you call
Ill take my stand
One chance to make or lost it all
This time my journey to wherever you are
I sail on your river so far my love well never be found
If you believe
We got eyes that see in the dark
And the power of love lives for making you mine
And in the light of close investigation
Is it only my imagination
I got you
Moonlight shining on your face
My bridges burned
With all my tears that you replaced
Two hearts together is a beautiful sight
Ill take you to heaven so far my love will follow you there
If we believe
We got eyes that see in the dark
And the power of love lives for making you mine
Am I the light of someone you need more of
Let me be that love you can be sure of
Is it only my imagination
I got you
Like the eagle that flies in the sun
Ill be lost in your fire before we are done
And the view from my window is brighter
Born to be all you need
We got eyes that see in the dark
And the power of love lives for making you mine
Am I the light of someone you need more of
Let me be that love you can be sure of
Is it only my imagination
I got you

And Then...They All Awakened

And then...
They all awakened,
To realize time did not keep them...
From an aging to save their youthful glows.
No.

It wasn't time that kept them in stages,
Hestitating to prolong their procrastinations...
To delay in persistant waiting,
For that clock to tick tock to that hour wished...
For that snap that would crackle a flame to start,
With a heat to jolt them out of their delusions.
Held onto and firmly gripped.
As they stared afraid,
That a slipping from this would leave them panicked in fits.

And all benefits wished would vanish quick!
No!
Time had nothing to do with it.
Or the ticking of it manmade loudly heard...
Within a twenty-four hour period!

People choose to use excuses as their prerequisites.
To drift further away from those required subjects,
One needs to learn and master.
To satisfy sacrifices made to witness seeing,
Those tasks devoted to finally bloom as groomed.

And...
Sure enough!
They all began to awaken to realize,
Time did not keep them...
Away from their wishes or abilities to see completed.
No!
Time did not keep them away from aspirations,
To get them done.
No!
Time had been given to everyone.

But...
Unlike some who did not need an alarm to stun,
To run as if to catch-up.
No!
However...
There are the ones who have been left behind,
Disbelieving no more time is there for them to come.

And although a 'no' is certain...
For anyone who keeps a running to catch-up done.
Especially when an awakening comes...
To anyone who knows,
Time is of little importance...to influence with significance.

Caring daring writing makes more sense...

For some its simply stated
for some the truth is abated
by rhyme and the language of the rose
such people prefer prose
for those
who are different who appreciate the art of poetry
are the ones who understand this
if you are the latter make sure you dont miss
your chance reading one thing has changed me
my life given up willingly
and now what comes out
surely not the same boy hurt and the one who has begun to pout
simply from the pain
all of this in vain
nay i say i say that this is something this is the reason
to not take my cross and follow thats treason
i wont just sit here and wait
having faith and doing nothing thats something i hate
its time to save
and even if it is all for naught
maybe just being a little too brave
but i repeat all for naught.... what has become of my life my purpose am i caught
i honestly think that if nothing comes of this no one gets saved
then at least i helped someone in my life
touched a life
even one rife
with pain
maybe one like mine just on the edge about to wain
i know i've done something
to the two i've hopefully left my mark
I say its time to let shine
dont keep it to yourself and say its mine
lets go out into the world dont take my word for it
i Challenge my two friends Savannah and Dillan be truth seekers.....
Find it, whoever loses his life he shall find it
Does that mean i have to die?
actually yes i must die to my flesh
is that painful..... hardly i have a certain joy no one can take
if this has changed you or moved you dont tell me unless you must
for my sake
thank God if these are simply my words may you tell me and may i grieve.

Many Don't Get It At All

The bolder ones get all the gold.
At least this is the story we are told,
That's kept.
No matter who sits...
Regretting the guess.

Many have done it.
Many still live it.
And many don't get it at all.

Wondering about the menu.
And what deal appeals.
Wondering about the service.
And who cooked the meal!
After what they ate is gone...
Oh ooooh.
After feeling weak,
And not strong!

Many have done it.
Many still live it.
And many don't get it at all.
After what they ate is gone...
Oh ooooh.
After feeling weak,
And not strong!

The tried and true seem to know what to do.
After a bitter taste done has not left!
They don't repeat upsetting steps.

Many have done it.
Many still live it.
And many don't get it at all.
After what they ate is gone...
Oh ooooh.
After feeling weak,
And not strong!
Oh ooooh.
And knowing something has gone wrong.
Oh ooooh...
Becoming nauseous with themselves.
All day long.

Many have done it.
Many still live it.
And many don't get it at all.
After what they ate is gone!
Oh ooooh...
Knowing what they could have had,
Has-moved-on!

The bolder ones get all the gold.
At least this is the story we are told,
That's kept.
No matter who sits...
Regretting the guess.

And those who do not guess but live.
Are the ones who get the gold.

Many have done it.
Many still live it.
And many don't get it at all.
Feeling weak...
And not strong!
Oh ooooh.
Feeling they do not belong.
Oh ooooh...
And so many have done it.
Many still live it.
And many wont get it at all.
Because they're on their butts too long!
Oh ooooh...
Because they're on their butts too long!

It Took Awhile

I'm not trying to be Maya,
Or better her best being Miss Angelou.
Or digest Langston's treasures...
To outdo the views of Mister Hughes.
But poets who can show emotions,
With insights known isn't easy to pursue.

These are the ones,
Who can do it making sense.
Inspirations they are...
With a knack to pen a clarity,
Once covered and thickly dense.

I am not trying to be a James Baldwin,
Or write the way an August Wilson can.
Or Tyler Perry...
Or a Robert Frost!
But like most writers who do write well,
Some are oft times 'on'
And most times 'off'!

A Stephen King I couldn't touch...
He's too much in deep mystery!
And Imamu Baraka is so totally profound.
I remember meeting him,
When LeRoi Jones had me spellbound!

I like things that motivate.
That keeps a process strong!
I like the fact that I'm aware of Nature...
And the 'rights' of human beings,
Who have been 'wronged'.

I can sing and rejoice...
And love the sounds of other voices!
All day long,
If that is my choice.

It took me a while to read Lawrence.
I read Larry too long...
And he got in my way!
Today I say it,
With words I can only say.
And like the others mentioned here...
It is clear what was said remains,
In our minds to stay.
With messages that sustains! !

Yes...
It took awhile for me to read Lawrence.
Reading him is not as easy,
Since he reflects these times that change!
And depicting them quick before they slip...
To fade...
In a World where attentions
Are focused just for minutes..
Then in seconds drift away!

It took awhile to read Lawrence.
A task I asked for with uncertainty...
But with certainty I've stayed,
And have learned to embrace him,
With double entendres...
Ambiguously delivered.
In my aging days!

There Are 'Rumors' That Many Are Fed Up With It!

A desecration allowed,
To outrageously disgrace...
Values of our respectful ancestors,
Should not have been permitted at all...
To have taken place,
To cause foundations to fall...
For purposes of renovating,
A facelift degenerating.

Crediting the feeding of greed,
Would be too easy to relieve many...
Of their irresponsibility.
Or those rushing to unload,
An accountability...
Few have chosen to behold.

But is greed alone,
That had been condoned...
The only factor,
One disowns a pride and dignity.
With a scolding tongue unfolding,
Obscenities...
That would come to destroy,
All of humanity?

Is one's lack of consciousness,
So intimidating...
That the onslaught of thoughtlessness,
Would diminish the minds...
Of a once advance society,
Into a helpless and disturbing swirling whirpool...
To create a decadence to breed,
Leaving the majority...
As so incline to be defined,
To become the ones observed as fools!

Who's game of pocket pool is this?
That goes unchallenged with a fixation...
Those onlookers are afraid to disqualify.
And would be stunned if suggested,
This game played with their lives...
Should be dismissed as requested.

'There are 'rumors' that many are fed up with it! '

Can those of intelligence,
Become the people blamed for this decrement?
And who championed the voices,
To extradict the demise of common sense?
And who took it amongst themselves to quiet the ones,
Who spoke against the implementation of misdeeds done?

Or,
How about this...
The rising of a steadfast ignorance.
That has all convinced...
The only way to move forward,
Is to repetitively visit...
The stagnating hold of a total darkness,
Considered by those without vision...
As the absolute experience of a bliss,
That is missed.

'There are 'rumors' that many are fed up with it!
But choose many do to keep their 'rants' private.
In a whispered and unheard silentness,
Continued to be done...
And kept as their 'secret' wish! '
