Protect Me From What I Want

Its that desease of the age
Its that desease that we crave
Alone at the end of the race
We catch the last bus home
Corporate america wakes
Coffee republic in case
We open the latch on the gate
Of the hole that we call our home
Protect me from what I want...
Protect me protect me
Maybe were victims of fate
Remember when wed celebrate
Wed drink and get high until late
And now were all alone
Wedding bells aint gonna chime
With both of us guilty of crime
And both of us sentenced to time
And now were all alone
Protect me from what I want...
Protect me protect me
Protect me from what I want...
Protect me protect me
Protect me from what I want...
Protect me protect me
Protect me from what I want...
Protect me protect me

Vulnerable

Everywhere I look I see her smile / her absent-minded eyes / and she has kept me wondering for so long / how this thing could go wrong.
It seems to me that we are both the same / playing the same game / but as darkness falls this true love falls apart / into a riddle of her heart.
Shes so vulnerable, like china in my hands / shes so vulnerable and I dont understand / I could never hurt the one I love / shes all Ive got / but shes so vulnerable / oh so vulnerable.
Days like these no one should be alone / no heart should hide away / her touch is gently conquering my mind / theres nothing words can say.
Shes coloured all the secrets of my soul / Ive whispered all my dreams / but just as nighttime falls this vision falls apart / into a riddle of her heart, yea.
Shes so vulnerable, like china in my hands / shes so vulnerable and I dont understand / I could never hurt someone I love / shes all Ive got / but shes so vulnerable / oh so vulnerable.
Dont hide your eyes...

Protect My Heart

Here we go
Puerto Rico
I gotta protect my heart
I gotta protect my heart
You were the highlight of the spot
but you wouldn't tell me your name
You were like, Girl are you ready or not?
to dance the entire night away
You were like, Let me hold ya girl
You were sayin, Let me touch ya girl
You were sayin, Let me squeeze ya girl
You turned me on. Let me f*** ya girl
See, when I first got here, I knew love barely
I gotta protect my heart
Then ya come changin things, I knew that's unfair, babe
I gotta protect my heart
The room was oh so hot
If you won't move, then move out of the way
I'm giving it all I got
but at the same time trying to maintain
You were like, Let me hold ya girl
You were sayin, Let me touch ya girl
You were sayin, Let me squeeze ya girl
You turned me on. Let me f*** ya girl
See, when I first got here, I knew love barely
I gotta protect my heart
Then ya come changin things, I knew that's unfair, babe
I gotta protect my heart
Never been touched by the way someone moves
and that scares me
I gotta protect my heart
If Cupid knew you were comin, he shoulda prepared me
I gotta protect my heart
I I I I just I just, I just need to
Walk away from the door
But I could feel myself reversing
I never gave in before
See I guess that's what happened when
You were like, Let me hold ya girl
You were sayin, Let me touch ya girl
You were sayin, Let me squeeze ya girl
You turned me on. Let me f*** ya girl
See, when I first got here, I knew love barely
I gotta protect my heart
Then ya come changin things, I knew that's unfair, babe
I gotta protect my heart
Never been touched by the way someone moves
and that scares me
I gotta protect my heart
If Cupid knew you were comin, he shoulda prepared me

Let's Protect Them

Those animals who are so badly abused,
Please everyone, let's protect them;
For those scared puppies and kittens confused,
Let's all agree, and really protect them.

For those poor whales swimming and are caught,
Let's please, stick with me to protect them;
To stop the cruelty to them, for their bodies are they bought,
Yes'. Please every one, agree to protect them.

For those seals so far away, of whom are killed,
Please everyone do try with me to protect them;
To stop the cruelty of how their blood is spilt,
Please most certainly agree to protect them.

For the bears and cubs, locked in chains,
Let's all agree to really go to protect them;
The cruel owners, and no one explains,
Let's try all, to get help to protect them.

For the dogs and cats, away in a farm,
Lets each one say no, but protect them;
Each time we hear of this cruelty, ring the alarm,
Then agree everybody, yes! We will protect them.

Protection

We don't need protection from terrorists anymore.
What we protection from is never-ending war.
Protect us from the propaganda.
Proect us from the lies.
Protect us from the legislation
set up to tyrannize.
Protect us from the vaccines
that cause more harm than good.
Protect us from the violence
that comes from Hollywood.
Protect us from injustice
emanating from the courts.
Protect our kids from drug enhancements
while they're playing sports.
Protect us from illegals taking all our jobs.
Protect us from the gangs and all the angry mobs.
Protect us from the wealthy who never have enough.
The terrorists are not coming.
It's time to call their bluff.

We don't need protection from terrorists anymore.
What we need protection from is right within our shore.

The Apology

ADDRESSED TO THE CRITICAL REVIEWERS.

Tristitiam et Metus.--HORACE.

Laughs not the heart when giants, big with pride,
Assume the pompous port, the martial stride;
O'er arm Herculean heave the enormous shield,
Vast as a weaver's beam the javelin wield;
With the loud voice of thundering Jove defy,
And dare to single combat--what?--A fly!
And laugh we less when giant names, which shine
Establish'd, as it were, by right divine;
Critics, whom every captive art adores,
To whom glad Science pours forth all her stores;
Who high in letter'd reputation sit,
And hold, Astraea-like, the scales of wit,
With partial rage rush forth--oh! shame to tell!--
To crush a bard just bursting from the shell?
Great are his perils in this stormy time
Who rashly ventures on a sea of rhyme:
Around vast surges roll, winds envious blow,
And jealous rocks and quicksands lurk below:
Greatly his foes he dreads, but more his friends;
He hurts me most who lavishly commends.
Look through the world--in every other trade
The same employment's cause of kindness made,
At least appearance of good will creates,
And every fool puffs off the fool he hates:
Cobblers with cobblers smoke away the night,
And in the common cause e'en players unite;
Authors alone, with more than savage rage,
Unnatural war with brother authors wage.
The pride of Nature would as soon admit
Competitors in empire as in wit;
Onward they rush, at Fame's imperious call,
And, less than greatest, would not be at all.
Smit with the love of honour,--or the pence,--
O'errun with wit, and destitute of sense,
Should any novice in the rhyming trade
With lawless pen the realms of verse invade,
Forth from the court, where sceptred sages sit,
Abused with praise, and flatter'd into wit,
Where in lethargic majesty they reign,
And what they won by dulness, still maintain,
Legions of factious authors throng at once,
Fool beckons fool, and dunce awakens dunce.
To 'Hamilton's the ready lies repair--
Ne'er was lie made which was not welcome there--
Thence, on maturer judgment's anvil wrought,
The polish'd falsehood's into public brought.

Protect The Future, Protect Our Children

(This poem is dedicated to the abused children)

It is more than a cliché to say
That our children are our future
They are in reality our future
Not our past or passé
We must protect our babies at any cost
From the West Coast to the East Coast
Day and night
They are our rainbow, our night light
Our angels, our bright light
We must protect our kids against all sorts of abuses
From Penn State to Rahway State
From New York State to Washington State
We must not tolerate stupid or noxious excuses
We must protect all of our children
Against all types of abuses
All the time, all the time
Dial 911, inform the authorities, so the scum can be booked
Or canned; so the Judge can throw
The books at the perpetrators of all despicable crimes
We must shield our infants with our rainbow
Against all sex maniacs who are sick in their mind
Our beautiful children are our future
Help them, feed them, and care for them
Don’t drag them in the gutter, in any mess
Do not abuse them physically
Emotionally or psychologically
Protect our baby sons and daughters
Protect our little brothers and sisters
Love them the right way
Pray for our children
Protect our little innocents
Use extraordinary common sense
Good morals and good judgments
When interacting with our little saints
Do not hurt our children
Protect the Future, protect our Children.

Father And Mother Africa!

A STORY I TELL THEE OF FATHER AFRICA AND MOTHER AFRICA!
THEY HAD SERVANTS AND ARMIES TO PROTECT THEMSELVES!
THEY AND THEIR SERVANTS HAD GUNS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES!
THEY HAD NUCLEAR AND ATOMIC BOMBS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES!
THEY HAD WARSHIPS AND WARJETS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES!
THEY HAD SUBMARINES AND SPACESHIPS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES!
THEY HAD SATELITES AND VIRA WEAPONS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES!
THEY HAD SPIRITUALISTS, MAGICIANS AND VOODOOISTS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES!
BUT I AM BEATEN FOR HOLDING ONTO A PIECE OF NAIL TO PROTECT MYSELF!
MY HOME AND BELONGINGS FORCEFULLY TAKEN FROM ME!
AYE! THIS ENEMY, I AM TOLD IS MY FATHER AND MOTHER!
THIS ENEMY, I AM TOLD TO RESPECT AND WORSHIP!
IF THOU BE IN SUPPORT OF THEM!
THEN, I PRAY, MAY FATHER AFRICA AND MOTHER AFRICA BE THEY FATHER AND MOTHER!
AND MAY ALL I GOT FROM THEM BE ALL YOU WILL GET FROM THEM!
THAT I MAY SEE IF YOU WILL RESPECT AND WORSHIP THEM!

How Vulnerable And Defenceless Man Is

How vulnerable and defenceless man is
on the ways that we daily go,
so curtailed to the border of his body and soul

always busy with the details
that is beaconing his way in life.
How vulnerable and defenceless man is

far too easily hurt by his fellow-man
like a flower that far too easily whither and perishes,
so curtailed to the border of his body and soul

in the short scope of the earthly life
days and nights continue on and on.
How vulnerable and defenceless man is

too sentimental for every unfulfilled wish,
sometimes irresolute about the choices that lie before him,
so curtailed to the border of his body and soul

too easily wounded when somebody curses him
if he has got to take notice;
how vulnerable and defenceless man is
so curtailed to the border of his body and soul.

What You Already Own

I give you my heart broken and bruised
It's still beating strong and wanting to trust you
I know I'm unfaithful
I know I do wrong
Do you protect what you already own?
I give you my body
Naked and meek
Burning with passion
Human and weak
What You Already Own
...as sung by Amy Grant
I try to be faithful
then I go wrong
Can you protect what you already own?
Can you protect what you already own?
I know I'm unfaithful
I know I do wrong
Do you protect what you already own?
I give you my life
Precious and rare
Knowing wherever I've been, you were there
Sometimes I'm faithful
Sometimes I'm strong
Will you protect what you already own?
I will be faithful
Help me be strong
'Cause you will protect what you already own
You still protect what you already own

Gaia

(olivia newton-john)
I am your mother--born of the sun
I gave you shelter--what have you done?
Your hearts in turmoil--my worlds in pain
I need to turn you back home again
I am a woman--i am the rain
And like your father--i feel the betrayed
What you are doing--can be undone
You know the answers--tell everyone
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Whose fates in jeopardy
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Thats the part you fail to see
I am the forest--now Im a tree
The air is dirty--i cannot breathe
My streams run empty--my tears run dry
My children call me--dont let us die
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Whose fates in jeopardy
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Thats the part you fail to see
I love my children and Ive been your home
But Ill survive this--if Im alone
Im survivor--but you will be gone
Lets start a new world--from this day on
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Whose fates in jeopardy
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Thats the part you fail to see
For it is you not me
Thats the part you fail to see
Oh respect me

The Rosciad

Unknowing and unknown, the hardy Muse
Boldly defies all mean and partial views;
With honest freedom plays the critic's part,
And praises, as she censures, from the heart.

Roscius deceased, each high aspiring player
Push'd all his interest for the vacant chair.
The buskin'd heroes of the mimic stage
No longer whine in love, and rant in rage;
The monarch quits his throne, and condescends
Humbly to court the favour of his friends;
For pity's sake tells undeserved mishaps,
And, their applause to gain, recounts his claps.
Thus the victorious chiefs of ancient Rome,
To win the mob, a suppliant's form assume;
In pompous strain fight o'er the extinguish'd war,
And show where honour bled in every scar.
But though bare merit might in Rome appear
The strongest plea for favour, 'tis not here;
We form our judgment in another way;
And they will best succeed, who best can pay:
Those who would gain the votes of British tribes,
Must add to force of merit, force of bribes.
What can an actor give? In every age
Cash hath been rudely banish'd from the stage;
Monarchs themselves, to grief of every player,
Appear as often as their image there:
They can't, like candidate for other seat,
Pour seas of wine, and mountains raise of meat.
Wine! they could bribe you with the world as soon,
And of 'Roast Beef,' they only know the tune:
But what they have they give; could Clive do more,
Though for each million he had brought home four?
Shuter keeps open house at Southwark fair,
And hopes the friends of humour will be there;
In Smithfield, Yates prepares the rival treat
For those who laughter love, instead of meat;
Foote, at Old House,--for even Foote will be,
In self-conceit, an actor,--bribes with tea;
Which Wilkinson at second-hand receives,
And at the New, pours water on the leaves.
The town divided, each runs several ways,
As passion, humour, interest, party sways.
Things of no moment, colour of the hair,
Shape of a leg, complexion brown or fair,
A dress well chosen, or a patch misplaced,
Conciliate favour, or create distaste.
From galleries loud peals of laughter roll,
And thunder Shuter's praises; he's so droll.
Embox'd, the ladies must have something smart,

Denials Kept

Denials kept,
Victimize and kill.
Denials kept,
Protect the sick from ills.
Denials kept,
Do not warm but chill.
Denials kept,
Keep the truth concealed.
Denials kept,
Produce conflicts to fulfill.
Denials kept,
Hides inside those minds that lie...
To themselves with alibis.

Denials kept,
Victimize and kill.
Denials kept,
Protect the sick from ills.
Denials kept,
Do not warm but chill.
Denials kept,
Keep the truth concealed.
Denials kept,
Hides inside those minds that lie...
To themselves with alibis.

Denials kept,
Destroys not create.
Denials kept,
Chases with debates.
Denials kept,
Confuses those who lose.
Denials kept,
Is the choice of fools.
Denials kept,
Hides inside those minds that lie...
To themselves with alibis.

Denials kept,
Victimize and kill.
Denials kept,
Protect the sick from ills.

Opening Scenerio

Someone takes a job volunteering,
To protect a segment of a neighborhood...
Where those living in it have allowed crime to nourish,
To ignore as if to encourage it.

The volunteer carries a gun.
Not only to protect himself.
But everyone living in this neighborhood infested,
To protect them from thugs and common thieves.
No one else wanted to volunteer to protect themselves,
FROM 'themselves'.

Someone decides they want to play 'thug' for the night.
Inviting confrontation.
That person gets shot.
And no one pours out from inside their bolted doors,
To rush to see what was going on.

Does it really matter who is or is not innocent?
When wild animals are running around rampant in a zoo?
And there is only ONE zookeeper 'volunteering'...
To protect those living in the safety of their locked cages,
While he...
The volunteer,
On personal time no one else seems to have the guts to find!

That is just the opening scenerio to this familiar saga.
It just happens to have gotten nationwide media coverage.
There is slime smeared all over the place...
Others rush to protect their kept delusions from public disgrace.
But...
Never to be examined are the facts from a broader view.
Or...
The originating of these dangers.

'Let us pray.
Help us to continue to stay blind for as long as possible,
To the facts of life. With a denial we desire to hold onto...
Everlasting. For many generations to come.'

Through the eyes of a Field Coronet (Epic)

Introduction

In the kaki coloured tent in Umbilo he writes
his life’s story while women, children and babies are dying,
slowly but surely are obliterated, he see how his nation is suffering
while the events are notched into his mind.

Lying even heavier on him is the treason
of some other Afrikaners who for own gain
have delivered him, to imprisonment in this place of hatred
and thoughts go through him to write a book.

Prologue

The Afrikaner nation sprouted
from Dutchmen,
who fought decades without defeat
against the super power Spain

mixed with French Huguenots
who left their homes and belongings,
with the revocation of the Edict of Nantes.
Associate this then with the fact

that these people fought formidable
for seven generations
against every onslaught that they got
from savages en wild animals

becoming marksmen, riding
and taming wild horses
with one bullet per day
to hunt a wild antelope,

who migrated right across the country
over hills in mass protest
and then you have
the most formidable adversary
and then let them fight

in a natural wilderness
where the hunter,
the sniper and horseman excels
and any enemy is at a lost.

Let them then also be patriotic
into their souls,
believe in and read
out of the word of God

There is a strange pecking order among actors. Theater actors look down on film actors, who look down on TV actors. Thank God for reality shows, or we wouldn't have anybody to look down on.

Love To Be Vulnerable

I am vulnerable
To the tempting depth of the sky
and the stars beyond my eye.
I am vulnerable
To the damp green moss
The soil soaks in
To the smell of dreams
an evening of birdsongs exude.
I love to be vulnerable
To the belief that this world
Despite the stinks of hatred
Will survive by love!
