Vengeful Psychic

There once was a psychic who loved to chat,

She made up lies to Christina, saying this or that.

See, psychic needed more money and she wanted revenge,

So she started telling lies to all of Christina's friends.

Then of course she told Christina the biggest lie of all,

She told Christina to date Skunky and suck on his balls.

Skunky was of course the worst creep Christina had ever met,

He was a liar, a cheat and even did theft.

But in the end, Skunky became the psychic’s friend…

Stalking her on the internet.

Then of course psychic didn’t know,

She emailed Skunky photos of her 'island with no snow'.

But as soon as Skunky telephoned psychic a thousand times X 2,

She quickly ended it with Skunky and said they were through.

Now, Skunky had no redeeming qualities as of yet,

But his stalking the psychic made Christina very upset,

And it made Christina think “who is the one I’m worse off to have met?

Well, they are both really scummy just the same,

Playing on Christina’s good heart like a volleyball game.

But Christina won out over both of them,

Making rhyming peeve poems is the best revenge.

A Tribute to Henry M. Stanley

Welcome, thrice welcome, to the city of Dundee,
The great African explorer Henry M Stanley,
Who went out to Africa its wild regions to explore,
And travelled o'er wild and lonely deserts, fatigued and footsore.

And what he and his little band suffered will never be forgot,
Especially one in particular, Major Edmund Barttelot,
Alas! the brave heroic Officer by a savage was shot,
The commandant of the rear column - O hard has been his lot!

O think of the noble Stanley and his gallant little band,
While travelling through gloomy forests and devastated land,
And suffering from all kinds of hardships under a burning sun!
But the brave hero has been successful and the victory's won.

While in Africa he saw many wonderful sights,
And was engaged, no doubt, in many savage fights,
But the wise Creator was with him all along
And now he's home again to us, I hope quite strong.

And during his travels in Africa he made strange discoveries,
He discovered a dwarfish race of people called pigmies,
Who are said to be the original natives of Africa,
And when Stanley discovered them he was struck with awe.

One event in particular is most worthy to relate,
How God preserved him from a very cruel fate:
He and his Officers were attacked, while sailing their boat,
By the savages of Bumbireh, all eager to cut his throat.

They seized him by the hair and tugged it without fear,
While one of his men received a poke in the ribs with a spear;
But Stanley, having presence of mind, instantly contrives
To cry to his men, Shove off the boat, and save your lives!

Then savages swarmed into three canoes very close by,
And every bow was drawn, while they savagely did cry;
But thee heroic Stanley quickly shot two of them dead,
Then the savages were baffled and immediately fled.

This incident is startling, but nevertheless true,
And in midst of all dangers the Lord brought him through
Then, welcome him,. thrice welcome him, right cheerfully,
Shouting, Long live the great African explorer, Henry M Stanley!

Therefore throw open the gates of the city of Dundee,
And receive him with loud cheers, three time three,
And sound your trumpets and beat your drums,
And play up, See the Conquering Hero Comes!

Saw Cher On A Tour Bus

Saw Cher On A Tour Bus
On a bus I did ride,
I was traveling down Las Vegas Blvd in the night.
Many people I did see,
they all looked happily back at me.
I did surprisingly see a nun,
then I looked up and saw a security guard with a gun.
The bus did stop and the wheels did squeak,
I saw the profile of Cher the singer’s left sparkling cheek.
She was quite hidden for she had on a headdress,
colorful feathers that shaped into a crest.
She was on her way to her own concert this time,
with her entourage patiently waiting outside,
I realize I was on Cher’s tour bus with nowhere to hide!
Click, click the cameras went,
I snuck off the bus to Cher’s concert event.
It was at the Las Vegas Caesars Palace,
it was all lit up like nighttime in Dallas.
I thought no way in all my days,
I would see Cher before she got on stage.
That was just my luck, I heard the alarm and then woke up.

No wan say you sing lak robin, but you got no tam for singin'
So busy it was keepin' you get breakfas' on de snow,
But de small note you was geev us, w'en it join de sleigh bell ringin'
Mak' de true Canadian music, mon cher petit oiseau!

O de long an' lonesome winter, if you're never comin' near us,
If we miss you on de roadside, an' on all de place below!

Pelang

Pelang! Pelang! Mon cher garçon,
I t'ink of you--t'ink of you night and day--
Don't mak' no difference, seems to me
De long long tam you're gone away.

De snow is deep on de Grande Montagne--
Lak tonder de rapide roar below--
De sam' kin' night, ma boy get los'
On beeg, beeg storm forty year ago.

An' I never was hear de win' blow hard,
An' de snow come sweesh on de window pane--
But ev'ryt'ing 'pear lak' it's yesterday
An' whole of ma troub' is come back again.

Ah me! I was foolish young girl den
It's only ma own plaisir I care,
An' w'en some dance or soirée come off
Dat's very sure t'ing you will see me dere.

Don't got too moche sense at all dat tam,
Run ev'ry place on de whole contree--
But I change beeg lot w'en Pelang come 'long

An' he was de bes' boy on Coteau,

I geev heem some hair dat come off ma head,
I mak' de nice stocking for warm hees feet,
So ev'ryt'ing's feex, w'en de spring is come
For mak' mariée on de church toute suite.

'W'en de spring is come!' Ah I don't see dat,
Dough de year is pass as dey pass before,
An' de season come, an' de season go,
But our spring never was come no more.

Marmion: Canto 6 (excerpt)

Next morn the Baron climb'd the tower,
To view afar the Scottish power,
Encamp'd on Flodden edge:
The white pavilions made a show,
Like remnants of the winter snow,
Along the dusky ridge.
Long Marmion look'd:--at length his eye
Unusual movement might descry
Amid the shifting lines:
The Scottish host drawn out appears,
For, flashing on the hedge of spears
The eastern sunbeam shines.
Their front now deepening, now extending;
Their flank inclining, wheeling, bending,
