Ridley Scott

A hit for me is if I enjoy the movie, if I personally enjoy the movie.

Another Hit For That Fix

When did the living of life,
Become the sole purpose...
To acquire things?
With a desiring that hypnotizes.

When was it that a stress accepted,
To impress others...
Leave such a disappointing affect,
That left our attachments addressed...
More valued than human beings neglected?

And who was it that decided what we possessed,
Would be taxed to never own?
To deluded ourselves and others shown.
As we condone those brave who fought our wars,
On foreign shores...
To needlessly sit hungry and homeless,
Upon city streets and curbs.
As if deserving of it to ease our nerves.

What ignorance qualified itself like this?
To become for us prioritized and not resist.
And to demand with expectations,
A picking of our own choice of entitlements.
With a decision to place insanity,
At the top of our wish list to ensure its existence.

When did the living of life,
Become the sole purpose...
To acquire things?
With a desiring.
That leaves us hypocrites hypnotized.
To feel we have rights to judge and criticize.

And today with a worship of it we can not rid.
Like addicts we pray to get another 'hit' for that 'fix'...
To satisfy that high we get.
With a numbness prescribed and legally authorized,
As we are fed our dysfunctional way of life is envied...
By those we are taught seek to take away our greatness.
And that's why they do their best to fight against us,
As we select which ones are our enemies living on their land.

For Years I An Hiding Under The Wing

For years I am hiding under the wing
of God who daily protects me
and sometimes I feel safe when I doze away,
I had even been involved in His work
and every weekend I visit His church
but still I cannot forget
that death goes on its own way,
where it measures out the life of every human being.

Patrick White

Looking For A Little Black Water After The Fury Of The White

Looking for a little black water after the fury of the white.
Dark energy after the light as peace
settles down gently upon me,
the sediment of the eras and rivers of my life.
And this cool night in early autumn,
a woman in a dark cloak and hood
I could almost caress if I could just breathe
a little more deeply than the abyss
I've been dogpaddling in because
there's nowhere else among all these stars
I can swim from the shallow end of myself
into the watersheds of my last drowning.

And there's an unprescribed silence,
a herb of the moon that's salving the wound
of the lunar thorn I just pulled out of my heart
delicately with my teeth. I'm trying
to tune my spinal cord to the guitar string
of the Tay River, so I can resonate in harmony
with the flow of things. Starfire walking
on the water of the mindstream without
the crutch of a miracle to help bear me up.

It's not so much a matter of power or self-discipline
as it is well within the spontaneous capacity
of everyone's emptiness to do so because,
labour exhaustively as we do just to find the path
let alone stay on it, all we've had to do
right from the start, is to let life
give us a narrative of our own we can be true to
as it makes you up going along with it
like a lonely survivor singing to himself in a lifeboat
at the last watch of the night. Arcturus
at the tip of our eyelashes, enmeshed
as it sinks in a western treeline of beached shipwrecks.

Reach out, but don't grasp. Accept and let go.
Scatter your blossoms, even when you're
down on your luck, like ripped up lottery tickets
whether they end up in the gutter
or on an impressionist table cloth somewhere
playing checkers with a patient still life.
I've seen whole Japanese plum trees in blossom
be brushed aside like perfect haikus
by a street sweeper at three in the morning
when no one else was watching but me and Basho.

My blood is saturated by an overdose of stars
and I can feel a light from deep within
rooting in my limbs like nightfall
as my awareness is enhanced
by how much unknown compassion
there is the silence, love in a dark time.
Blue moons on the wild grape vines,
approaching the autumn equinox in Virgo
as if they could read my mind like a purple passage
intoxicated on the wine that can be pressed out of its own decay.

The waterlilies are gone with the fireflies,
and the reupholstered cattails are beginning
to show signs of wear already. And soon
the Canada geese will be flying high overhead
bearing the souls of the dead to new latitudes of seeing
where the starmaps fall from their hands
like the feathers and leaves of being
flowing along with the mindstream
like the wiverns, wavelengths, and water sylphs
playing on the shores of the Milky Way
with as many burning bridges,
as there are flames on the phoenix
in the immolated sumac, as there are eyes
to see across these circuitous waters
to the other side of where we've always been going
alone together with everyone who's ever come aboard.

For All To Enjoy

Nature's beauty for all to enjoy and see
A beauty that will surely outlive me
But more species become endangered every day
And extinction is forever as they say
Another grove of trees has been cut down
For to build more houses in the country town
Some species of birds and animals becoming rare
Forced by developers to try to find homes elsewhere
By developers great Natural beauty is destroyed
They have changed the face of town and countryside
If with Nature we cannot live in harmony
'Tis a sad indictment on humanity
Nature's beauty is for all to enjoy
Yet such great beauty some wish to destroy

Ch 08 On Rules For Conduct In Life - Maxim 74

When a wise man encounters obstacles, he leaps away and casts anchor at the proper opportunity, for thus he will be in the former instance safe on shore, and in the latter he will enjoy himself.

For Karin Anderson

Karin is what I call
the metaphor queen
she writes her poems with them
and it makes them gleam.
In every style, she writes
the rhythm is just precise
and the beauty in her words
always shines bright
from this Australian rose.
I don’t know what style
you might call this poem
only that it was written with care
in a way of thanks
to another poet whom I call a friend
for her works that I enjoy.

Poetry in Motion for Friend Thad

A connoisseur of derrieres.
I’ve studied ladies rears for years.
I love to watch the liquid flow
of haunches moving to and fro
When clad in well cut denim jeans,
they can enhance the dullest scenes
But better still I must confess
beneath a simple cotton dress.
I am convinced the ladies know
that many men enjoy the view
and do their very best to show
they don’t object but pretend to.
I find that Gluteus Maximi
Are very easy on the eye.

Grieve not for me

I cannot let you grieve for me,
For those who love must let us go.
In comfort, please believe I’m free,
From all the pain life can bestow,
As I begin my world anew,
Consider not what used to be,
I’m sending happy smiles to youWhile I enjoy eternity.
Lord, bless the home
From which I came,
Yet brush each lonely hour away,
With fond remembrance of my name,
And a sunshine for a newer day.
Look to the wind to find me there,
Beside the hardest thing you do.
I’ve left my love within this prayer
I’m always watching over you.

For The Buds That Bloom

for the buds that bloom
thank you
for the flowers that show the
biggest petals and the sweetest scent
thank you
for those that keep on holding the dew
thank you
and for those who enjoy even the slightest moment
of my appreciation and praise
all for the glory of God
even for the slightest moment
and then wilt and die
in an instant
like the click of the hand
or the ticking of the clock for a second or two
thank you

i have learned a lot. i have opened. i have kept the answers. i am ready
for the next question that God may ask of me.
even for the shortest moment of my life.
thank you.

Hold It Now - Hit It!

Now I chill real ill when I start to chill
When I fill my pockets with a knot of dollar bills
Sipping pints of ale out the window sill
When I get my fill I'm chilly chill
Now I just got home because I'm out on bail
What's the time? - it's time to buy ale
Peter eater - parking meter all of the time
If I run out of ale - it's Thunderbird wine
Miller drinking - chicken eating - dress so fly
I got friends in high places that are keeping me high
Dow with Mike D. and it ain't no hassle
Got the ladies of the eighties from here to White Castle

(chorus) Hold it now - hit it!

M.C. - Adam Yauch in the place to be
And all the girls are on me cause I'm down with Mike D.
I'm down with Mike D. and it ain't no baloney
For real

My Baby Just Cares For Me

As sung by nat king cole
Words by gus kahn and music by walter donaldson
Sung in the file whoopee by eddie cantor
A #4 hit for ted weems in 1930
A # 29 hit for the hi-los in 1954
My baby dont care for shows, my baby dont care for clothes,
My baby just cares for me.
My baby dont care for furs and laces,
My baby dont care for high-toned places,
My baby dont care for rings or other expensive things,
Shes sensible as can be.
My baby dont care who knows it,
My baby just cares for me.
(instrumental interlude)
My babys no crosby fan, dick tracy is not her man,
My baby just cares for me.
My baby dont care for mr. tibbits,
Shed rather have me around to kibbitz.
Roy rogers is not her style, and even clark gables smile
Is something that she cant see.
(oh, you lucky so-and-so)
I wonder whats wrong with baby,
My baby just cares for me.

Enjoy and shout

Before you act, listen.
Before you react, think.
Before you spend, earn.
Before you criticize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive.
Before you quit, try… Earnest Hemingway

Time is an essence
Hardly can you wait for chance
Think for a while and it is gone
The works has to be done

No room to criticize
But yes scope to improvise
But if you wait
It may seal your fate

Time should not run out
There won't be then anything to talk about
You may try to learn
It may add only concern

If you wait for success
It may deny you the access
Time and tide wait for none
You are the master so strike as one

Shape the destiny
With the grace from almighty
If you have will power and strong resolve
You are sure to sail through and solve

You are the sailor
And you are the jailor
Keep all prisoners out
Have free mind cell to enjoy and shout

Always Be There For Me

When its over...youre always the last one to know. its a feeling...that nobody wants to show. even though its killing me. I still blame myself. I wish I could change, but lord knows I know t
Cant. all the feelings...twisting inside my head. I know its too late...the past I cant seem to forget. if I could change the circumstance. Id never let you go. I cant hide from the thruth and I want you to know. when I reach out my hand theres nobody there I can touch anymore. when I call out your name. the pain rips right through me like never before. is it too much to ask for one last memory. cause yesterday you said, youd always be there for me. dont know whats harder...the truth or reality. I hit a brick wall. painted with honesty. I wish that I could give to you, all the things you need. but the one thing I cant is making you leave. (repeat chorus)

Not Just Climbing For Me

We all have to climb the mountain of life
The road can get tough and I knew that though
For reasons unknown to everyone around me
I climbed for me not telling anyone else why
But then I told one man my dreams and from there on out he was always there Cheering me on
Even when the road got tuff and my hands were bleeding
He was there by my side telling me it was going to be alright
Then he died and it seemed all was lost
But then I climbed harder
And it hit me
That I was not just climbing for me but climbing for him and all that he stood for remembering what he told
Me to do when road got cold and unforgiving
And still to this day I climb for us, me and him
And everything we stand for remembering what he climbed for
He climbed for me and God and all of his family
And that's what he told me
And that's why I climb for us remembering him and all the love
He showed me

Continuing For All To Experience

A mess done to undo too late,
As is the custom.
Only adds more to the debate,
When new arrivals view potential...
As others stubbornly will convince,
That a waiting to make the right decision...
Is more advantageous to the prospect,
Of collecting more tax revenue...
To whatever is done to redo and renew.

Although...
At the expense,
Of a rapidly declining quality of life...
Continuing for all to experience.

'We first must select a committee,
To draft a bill to propose...
For an appropriate addendum,
That follows the guidelines...
Of the original documentation,
That oversees the content...
Adopted with intention,
As to not to offend those who first...
Came upon these shores,
To fight for those entitlements...
We now enjoy! '

~Excuse me,
But...
When was that? ~

'Back in the sixteen hundreds.
That's the problem we face.
No one seems to want to address,
'Our' history.'

Hit 'em again, Harder, harder

Remember that old football cheer
we all used to yell?
Well, this is the cheer the politicians use
as they put us all through hell.

Just as you think you might be getting ahead,
they hit you again harder with lies you are fed.
When you're too busy trying to make ends meet
they hit you again harder and turn up the heat.

They hit real hard when they hit your pocketbook
and at their tax returns, you'll never get a look.
So now we have a financial crisis staring us in the face.
The collapse of our dollar, which has fallen from grace

We've let them go too far without fighting back.
And like the football game, we need a quarterback sack.
America is falling. We need the 2 minute drill.
But there's not enough bravery so head for the hills.

And if you listen from that hill you might make it to
you'll hear from our Capitol Hill, our red, white and blue
Hit 'em again, hit 'em again harder-harder.

Fresh Air For My Mama

So say one and so say all
Say what you gotta say
Or dont say nothing at all
You been tossin and turnin through soft sticky nights
While the bronx below you fights to stay alive
So say one and so say all
Be what you gotta be
Or dont be nothing at all
Be gracious to your mother
When you leave this neighbourhood
The change is going to do her good
Next to me you look bad
'cos there aint no fresh air for my momma, my momma
But the drop is shear
When you break away
Take me away
Its just about time to hit the road
And say
You gotta believe in something
Its easy to see
My God is fading away
So pick up your Bible and pray for me
Were all alone in the darkness
But our eyes are wide open
We dont see nothing
And our hands are tied
To the railings of the bowery
And the humid city slickers
So say one and so say all
We had a lot to say
And we said it all
The cost of living in dreams
Is rising like a crime wave
The american way of dying
And it gets you every time
And it looks like its got to my momma
My momma
May she rest in peace

Backside Of Thirty

They say when you reach
the backside of thirty;
a midlife crisis looms in the air.

Midlife crisis!

Now what the hell is that?

Is it like the flu,
or a summer cold?

If it is, then I had mine,
When I got married
So many years ago.

So what happens?
When you reach the backside of forty.

Is it another midlife crisis,
or are you over the hill there?

Don’t ask me, I don’t know.

A government official once told me,
At the age of forty,
I was too far gone for repair.

That I was on the downward stretch.

Well here I am at sixty two,
and I’ve seen the backside of fifty.

But who really cares?

Your as young as you feel,
and I still feel like a little kid.

I go away at weekend
and play cowboys and Indians,
but in my case it is vicars and Indians
that’s why they call me Dodgy Dave.

Who cares if I’m a blatant fool,
I’m enjoying my life while I got it.
My advise to you,
is when you hit the backside of thirty,
you do the same as I do.

Act a little crazy,
and enjoy everyday you got.

Tea For One

So you stir your memories
Of better men.
With your silver spoon.
A bitter tea for two.
Where are they now
The perfect few.
That put me to shame.
Your strut is lame.
Crippled,
Your knights in armour.
Rippled, dreams.
Remember Karma.
You
Who pledged me your life.
Warm kisses
But much colder the knife
As you stabbed me in the back.
With your ice cube words.
Emotion's all you lack.
Within your test tube herds.
So cry.
Your act so placid.
I cannot kiss away
Your tears of acid.
Hang your head
For the lies
You whispered in my bed.
My blood dried in my veins.
When doubt, like cancer spread.
All my messages
That you ignored.
My cries of pain.
As you sat bored.
Disguarded.
Like last years fashion.
Retarded.
Your idea of passion.
That I die so slow
You will never believe.
But one moonlight glow
Will trap you and thieve
Your comfort and confidence.
Love owns the heart.
Where lust just rents.
So enjoy your tea for one.
And sit in your setting sun.
Your warmth snuffed like a candle.
Hope you eventually handle.
Your heroes, who never will call.
Alone in your empty hall.
