High Crimes & Misdemeanors (Hip Hop-Crazy)

Written by Dennis DeYoung
Lead Vocals by Dennis DeYoung
They want you to believe
The unbelievable
They say you should accept
The unacceptable
Forget your common sense
It isn't sensible
Good times for fools and dreamers
Watch 'em all deny
The undeniable
See how they refute
The unrefutable
They're ready to defend
The indefensible
High times for lawyer schemers
They say we must forgive
The forgivable
They want us to respect
The unrespectable
The pious and the hip
So hypocritical
High crimes and misdemeanors
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
See how they explain
The inexplicable
Watch 'em debate
The undebatable
Apparently a lie
Is never liable
Prime time for talk show screamers
They say we constitute
The Constitutional
With justice here for all
So justifiable
I'm tryin' not to laugh
But man it's laughable
High crimes and misdemeanors
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
And so
Today we find
They've changed their minds
They've switched their points of view
Oh what tangled webs they weave
When their beliefs ain't really
What they believe
They're trying to divide
The indivisible
Because they think we're fools
So foolable
I'm tryin' not to laugh
But man it's laughable
Boom times for Wall Street dreamers
They want you to believe
The unbelievable
They say we should accept
The unacceptable
The pious and the hip
So hypocritical
High crimes and misdemeanors
High crimes and misdemeanors
High crimes and misdemeanors
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop
Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop

Attacked Bush at lightning speed
For sour loans, debt accumulation
High Crimes and thoughtless greed

(Wall Street criminals with bulging pockets still at large)

I Believe In Pakistany People

I believe in Pakistany people
And there is something good in every pakistany people that I see
I believe in Pakistany People
Because they cross the streets of Pakistan everyday
And they have a dream about God
I believe in Pakistany people
Because the right time will come for them to worship God
I believe in Pakistany people
Because God will help them to get through the difficult times
I believe in Pakistany people
Because they believe in God the same way that I do
I believe in Pakistany people
Because they are rich inspirit but not in money
I believe in Pakistany People
Because they were created in God's image
I believe in Pakistany people
Because they are God's Children also

The Magnificence Of Someone's Ego

Making unsolicited announcements,
To honor in celebration...
The magnificence of someone's ego,
Is really an event to attend.
To witness the shallowness,
In all of its pretense by those absent...
Of common sense and its definition.

And...
IF one should be personally invited,
There is probably a high disregard...
For one's integrity.
Since integrity is not the subject,
That plays an integral part...
In the implementaion of these celebrations.

'Excuse me.
The taste of your 'deceptions' are delicious.
Would you happen to have another platter,
To go around?
Apparently I am not the only one,
Trying not to get hooked on them.
You 'must' share your recipe.'

Crazy Circus (just a wrap)

Crazy Circus (just a wrap)

Were runnin’ like chickens with our heads cut off,
Squealing like piggies round the old food trough,
Stuck on a treadmill and we can’t get off,
Its a crazy circus

Lost and confused, walkin in a trance,
Common sense needs a second chance,
But time is runnin out gotta change our stance,
Such a crazy circus

Just lookin’ for respect we think we know
But the real truth is you reap what you sow

Under the bigtop were up on the stage
Spillin’ and killin’ lost in a rage
Why can’t we just turn the page
Of this crazy circus

Strutin’ our stuff actin’ real cool
Posin’ in the mirror ready for a duel
Now who do you think is the real fool
What a crazy circus

The old ringmaster were the main attraction
Always lookin’ for some kind of action
Spinnin’ our wheels losin’ our traction
In this crazy circus

Just lookin’ for respect we act like we know
But the real truth is you reap what you sow

Let Them Go

My relatives may confide and tell
Don’t trust people and let them go to hell
I would wonder at this remark as teenager
They were advising me how to become successful manager

I had very tender age and like young tree
Anything was accepted as right thing and for free
They were telling me to prove as gentleman and good
I was compelled to accept it with in good or bad mood

My teach would tell me something different
I knew it was right lesson to be drawn for moment
Teacher always stood for my well being
I was her pet and would prefer anything to sing

Children are like stem of the root
You can bend them from body to foot
They are adapted to do anything and susceptible
So training is important to make them stubborn and capable

I turn back to old memory
I feel some their advices made me free from worry
Today I can smell rat from the distance
It won’t reach to me even at once

It is matter of common sense
Some of the advises may seem complete nonsense
Yet they are practical and of high importance
We can pretend unconcerned with ignorance

Well some of the things remain with us life long
It may give us some clue not to go wrong
The child retains complete imagery in his mind
It helps to work for the solution to find

I would give full marks even if that meant adverse
They were showing me ways to alter the reverses
It is how we tackle the issued without any assistance
It clearly demonstrates your will power with positive stance

Good will

How dear is mother and motherland?
Is it simple flash piece or piece of land?
One gives birth and another gives means to live
Both are precious and holy if one takes on to believe

No one on this earth may tolerate any insult?
The sentiments are interwoven and carefully built
Millions may die for the holy cause and honor
The land has turned red many times in color

It is called supreme sacrifice if offered for defense
How many people might have laid down their lives to halt offense?
History is witness that offenders have fled away to save lives
Constant efforts have been made and all are keen or to thrive

The wanton killings and bloodshed is averted
The danger is for time being halted or diverted
The clouds do hover over the sky for causing destruction
At any moment world can be at war with little mischief or instructions

We have witness many changes in recent days
Mighty dictators have fled the land and paved the way
Yet there is human rights violations and suppression
Citizens are killed in their own land under oppression

Democratic countries too are not exception
They have cornered national wealth from the inception
There is no final check over them and have free hand
The people suffer under oppression in their own land

If it is foreign power then it is question of occupation
The dispute can not be confined to local in relation
It has dangerous consequences to engulf all and follow
The indefinite subjugation is not the solution and be allowed

We have seen ruthless purging
There has been no impact on appeal or urging
The blood is constantly shed leading to loss of lives
The situation has not improved and has made nose dive

The liberty and freedom movement has become farce
It has become ridiculous with the command of opportunist forces
We hear no talk on peace initiatives or cessation of hostile move
The danger still looms large with reign of terror and fear yet to be removed

We saw mass slaughters and ethnic cleansing with mass exodus
Many countries faced starvation with the increase of unmanageable influx
We could over come with the great plight and stopped complete annihilation
Yet the world is not assured of full liberty and equal participation

Let us pray almighty for to prevailing common sense and good will
At least there is full stop for border skirmished and unnecessary killings
Oppressors are given no chance to rule and shown the wall
Enough has been flown in red blood and now time is to recall

William Cowper

The 5th Satire Of Book I. Of Horace : A Humorous Description Of The Author's Journey From Rome To Brundusium

'Twas a long journey lay before us,
When I and honest Heliodorus,
Who far in point of rhetoric
Surpasses every living Greek,
Each leaving our respective home
Together sallied forth from Rome.
First at Aricia we alight,
And there refresh and pass the night,
Our entertainment rather coarse
Than sumptuous, but I've met with worse.
Thence o'er the causeway soft and fair
To Apii Forum we repair.
But as this road is well supplied
(Temptation strong!) on either side
With inns commodious, snug, and warm,
We split the journey, and perform
In two days' time what's often done
By brisker travellers in one.
Here rather choosing not to sup
Than with bad water mix my cup,
After a warm debate in spite
Of a provoking appetite,
I sturdily resolved at last
To balk it, and pronounce a fast,
And in a moody humour wait,
While my less dainty comrades bait.
Now o'er the spangled hemisphere
Diffused the starry train appear,
When there arose a desperate brawl;
The slaves and bargemen, one and all,
Rending their throats (have mercy on us!)
As if they were resolved to stun us.
'Steer the barge this way to the shore!
I tell you we'll admit no more!
Plague! will you never be content?'
Thus a whole hour at least is spent,
While they receive the several fares,
And kick the mule into his gears.
Happy, these difficulties past,
Could we have fallen asleep at last!
But, what with humming, croaking, biting,
Gnats, frogs, and all their plagues uniting,
These tuneful natives of the lake
Conspired to keep us broad awake.
Besides, to make the concert full,
Two maudlin wights, exceeding dull,
The bargeman and a passenger,
Each in his turn, essayed an air
In honour of his absent fair.
At length the passenger, opprest
With wine, left off, and snored the rest.
The weary bargeman too gave o'er,
And hearing his companion snore,
Seized the occasion, fixed the barge,
Turned out his mule to graze at large,
And slept forgetful of his charge.
And now the sun o'er eastern hill,
Discovered that our barge stood still;
When one, whose anger vexed him sore,
With malice fraught, leaps quick on shore,
Plucks up a stake, with many a thwack
Assails the mule and driver's back.
Then slowly moving on with pain,
At ten Feronia's stream we gain,
And in her pure and glassy wave
Our hands and faces gladly lave.
Climbing three miles, fair Anxur's height
We reach, with stony quarries white.
While here, as was agreed, we wait,
Till, charged with business of the state,
Maecenas and Cocceius come,
The messengers of peace from Rome.
My eyes, by watery humours blear
And sore, I with black balsam smear.
At length they join us, and with them
Our worthy friend Fonteius came;
A man of such complete desert,
Antony loved him at his heart.
At Fundi we refused to bait,
And laughed at vain Aufidius' state,
A praetor now, a scribe before,
The purple-bordered robe he wore,
His slave the smoking censer bore.
Tired at Muraena's we repose,
At Formia sup at Capito's.
With smiles the rising morn we greet,
At Sinuessa pleased to meet
With Plotius, Varius, and the bard
Whom Mantua first with wonder heard.
The world no purer spirits knows;
For none my heart more warmly glows.
Oh! what embraces we bestowed,
And with what joy our breasts o'erflowed!
Sure while my sense is sound and clear,
Long as I live, I shall prefer
A gay, good-natured, easy friend,
To every blessing heaven can send.
At a small village, the next night,
Near the Vulturnus we alight;
Where, as employed on state affairs,
We were supplied by the purveyors
Frankly at once, and without hire,
With food for man and horse, and fire;
Capua next day betimes we reach,
Where Virgil and myself, who each
Laboured with different maladies,
His such a stomach,-- mine such eyes,--
As would not bear strong exercise,
In drowsy mood to sleep resort;
Maecenas to the tennis-court.
Next at Cocceius' farm we're treated,
Above the Caudian tavern seated;
His kind and hospitable board
With choice of wholesome food was stored.
Now, O ye Nine, inspire my lays!
To nobler themes my fancy raise!
Two combatants, who scorn to yield
The noisy, tongue-disputed field,
Sarmentus and Cicirrus, claim
A poet's tribute to their fame;
Cicirrus of true Oscian breed,
Sarmentus, who was never freed,
But ran away. We don't defame him,
His lady lives, and still may claim him.
Thus dignified, in harder fray
These champions their keen wit display,
And first Sarmentus led the way.
'Thy locks, (quoth he), so rough and coarse,
Look like the mane of some wild horse.'
We laugh : Cicirrus undismayed--
'Have at you!' -- cries, and shakes his head.
''Tis well (Sarmentus says) you've lost
That horn your forehead once could boast;
Since maimed and mangled as you are,
You seem to butt.' A hideous scar
Improved ('tis true) with double grace
The native horrors of his face.
Well. After much jocosely said
Of his grim front, so fiery red,
(For carbuncles had blotched it o'er,
As usual on Campania's shore)
'Give us, (he cried), since you're so big,
A sample of the Cyclops' jig!
Your shanks methinks no buskins ask,
Nor does your phiz require a mask.'
To this Cicirrus. 'In return
Of you, sir, now I fain would learn,
When 'twas, no longer deemed a slave,
Your chains you to the Lares gave.
For though a scrivener's right you claim,
Your lady's title is the same.
But what could make you run away,
Since, pigmy as you are, each day
A single pound of bread would quite
O'erpower your puny appetite?'
Thus joked the champions, while we laughed,
And many a cheerful bumper quaffed.
To Beneventum next we steer;
Where our good host by over care
In roasting thrushes lean as mice
Had almost fallen a sacrifice.
The kitchen soon was all on fire,
And to the roof the flames aspire.
There might you see each man and master
Striving, amidst this sad disaster,
To save the supper. Then they came
With speed enough to quench the flame.
From hence we first at distant see
The Apulian hills, well known to me,
Parched by the sultry western blast;
And which we never should have past,
Had not Trivicus by the way
Received us at the close of day.
But each was forced at entering here
To pay the tribute of a tear,
For more of smoke than fire was seen:
The hearth was piled with logs so green.
From hence in chaises we were carried
Miles twenty-four and gladly tarried
At a small town, whose name my verse
(So barbarous is it) can't rehearse.
Know it you may by many a sign,
Water is dearer far than wine.
There bread is deemed such dainty fair,
That every prudent traveller
His wallet loads with many a crust;
For at Canusium, you might just
As well attempt to gnaw a stone
As think to get a morsel down.
That too with scanty streams is fed;
Its founder was brave Diomed.
Good Varius (ah, that friends must part!)
Here left us all with aching heart.
At Rubi we arrived that day,
Well jaded by the length of way,
And sure poor mortals ne'er were wetter.
Next day no weather could be better;
No roads so bad; we scarce could crawl
Along to fishy Barium's wall.
The Ingatians next, who by the rules
Of common sense are knaves or fools,
Made all our sides with laughter heave,
Since we with them must needs believe,
That incense in their temples burns,
And without fire to ashes turns.
To circumcision's bigots tell
Such tales! for me, I know full well,
That in high heaven, unmoved by care,
The gods eternal quiet share:
Nor can I deem their spleen the cause
Why fickle nature breaks her laws.
Brundusium last we reach: and there
Stop short the Muse and Traveller.

High Time

Written by dennis deyoung
Lead vocals by dennis deyoung
I flip the switch on my laser video
And theres the man staring back at me
He starts to speak in a voice so righteous
About the sins of society
Hes got answers to all my problems
Says hell decide what I should hear and see
I try to change to another station
But all I get is more of his morality
And morality, yeah
But I see the kids of a new generation
And they wont stand for this mind control
Theyre gonna change this world we live in
Theyre gonna bring back the rock and roll
So if I can, Im gonna break from this prison
Gonna get out and join in the fight
Take a chance on what I believe in
Win or lose, I know its right
cause its high time
For us to start a revolution
High time
Just like an a-bomb explosion
High time
It aint the music thats in question
High time
Its more the freedom of expression
Change is comin
Mind police are comin
Were on the move
The old world is crumblin
A new days comin
Tell your friends and relations
Were on the move
Were gonna start a rockin nation
High time
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
High time
Were gonna start a revolution
High time
[scatting] everybody lay back now I tell you why...
[roboto]
Ive been instructed to inform you that your privileges have been penalized.
Your avoidance tactics have proven disappointing.
[kilroy]
Ha ha ha ha ha ha
Up yours, roboto!
[roboto]
No deviance, kilroy!
High time
For us to start a revolution
High time

Were on the move

B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-band on the move, yeah
High time
Yeah
High time
B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-band on the move
High time
What will this thing cost, man? look at the costs!
Hundreds and hundreds!

If youre going to make it baby
Youve got to stand tall
If youre going to survive
So just take my hand
And Ill show you how to feel alive

Goodbye To Roseland

Written by dennis deyoung
Lead vocals by dennis deyoung
There was a time
When we were children
Blue skies would shine
And all was forgiven
And there were heroes to guide us
And we had family beside us
And there were dreams to believe in
Each and every day
And I was your friend
Father and brother
And you were my wife
Mistress and mother
And through the good times and bad times
We shared the love of a lifetime
Oh what a shame and a damn crime
For it all to end
So goodbye to roseland
How I wish I could stay
To live in the memory
Of your sweet sweet day
But every road that we travel, has an end
And so the time now has come to say
Farewell old friend
Well goodbye to roseland
How I want you to know
Just how much I miss you
So I got to let go
But all the love that you gave me will remain
And every tear that Ive cried has not been shed in vain

Superstars

Written by james young, dennis deyoung, tommy shaw
Lead vocals by tommy shaw and dennis deyoung
Youve read about me in the papers
Youve seen me on the movie screen
You know everything about me
Im your late night fantasy
But dont think I cant hear you calling
From the shadow of the 14th row
Cause Ive had the same dreams youve had
A few short years ago and thats why I know
You and i
We will climb so high
Superstars
Whoa whoa you and i
And well just close our eyes
And well become our fantasy
Superstars yes, yes, superstars
Step right this way. everyones welcome,
We want your dreams.
The offers simple, momentary immortality
Cause Ive seen them all you know
Ive seen them climb and Ive seen them fall
Ive seen them come and Ive seen them go
And through it all theres only one thing that matters
Love - and thats simply
You and i
Yes, you and i
For we are superstars

Babe

Written by dennis deyoung
Lead vocals by dennis deyoung
Babe, Im leaving, I must be on my way
The time is drawing near
My train is going, I see it in your eyes
The love, the need, your tears
But Ill be lonely without you
And Ill need your love to see me through
Please believe me, my heart is in your hands
And Ill be missing you.
You know its you babe
Whenever I get weary and Ive had enough
Feel like giving up
You know its you babe
Giving me the courage and the strength I need
Please believe that its true
Babe, I love you.
You know its you babe
Whenever I get weary and Ive had enough
Feel like giving up
You know its you babe
Giving me the courage and the strength I need
Please believe that its true
Babe, I love you.
Babe, Im leaving, Ill say it once again
Somehow try to smile
I know the feeling were trying to forget
If only for a while
But Ill be lonely without you
And Ill need your love to see me through
Please believe me, my heart is in your hands
And Ill be missing you
Babe, I love you.

Lords Of The Ring

Written by dennis deyoung
Lead vocals by james young
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery they bring
To the music in their story
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery they bring
To the lands of ancient glory
In the year of the lords
The message came from above
The heavens opened with their mighty sound
That shook the people in the town
And so we came from everywhere
The young and old the rich and poor
To hear the legend of the magic ring
And of the powers it could bring, they sing
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery they bring
To the music in their story
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery it brings
May we someday wear its glory
And now the message is clear
For I became a lord this year
And though the legend was pure fantasy
We still need the hope it brings, so lets sing
All hail to the lords of the ring
To believe is a wonderous thing
May we always sing their glory
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery they bring
To the promise of their story

While Theres Still Time

Written by dennis deyoung
Lead vocals by dennis deyoung
How can I sleep tonight?
When I know that tomorrow Ill be miles away,
And how can I leave if I know when I kiss you goodbye,
Baby youll cry
Where do I find the words?
To convince you that theres a secret part of me,
That dies every time I must pack up and walk out the door,
When Im wanting you more
So while theres still time,
Know that I love you,
Baby please hold me tight,
Girl while theres still time
If I could stop the dawn,
Make the moon and the stars shine on forever more,
And never again have to say how much Im missing you,
But what can I do?
So while theres still time,
Say that you love me,
Baby please hold me tight,
Girl while theres still time
If I should go, if I should go,
Theres a chance I could lose,
The love of my life, the love of my life,
Baby please dont make me choose
Believe me
Trust me
Let me inside
And while theres still time,
Forget about tomorrow,
Baby please lets not fight,
Not while theres still time
While theres still time
While theres still time
While theres still time
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh...

Lead vocals by dennis deyoung
Lies lies
Youre telling me that youll be true
Lies lies
Thats all I ever get from you
Tears tears
I shed a million tears for you
Tears tears
And now youre loving someone new
Someday youre gonna be happy
But I dont know when just now
Lies
Lies - breaking my heart
You think that youre such a smart girl
And Ill believe what you say
But who do you think you are girl
To lead me on this way?
Lies lies
I cant believe a word you say
Lies lies
Im gonna make you sad someday
Someday youre gonna be lonely
But you wont find me around
Lies
Lies - breaking my heart
Yeah
Someday youre gonna be lonely
But you wont find me around
Lies
Lies - breaking my heart
You think that youre such a smart girl
And Ill believe what you say
But who do you think you are girl
To lead me on this way?
Lies lies
I cant believe a word you say
Lies lies
Im gonna make you sad someday
Someday youre gonna be lonely
But you wont find me around
Lies
Lies - breaking my heart
Breaking my heart
Breaking my heart
Breaking my heart
Breaking my heart
Breaking my heart

Lonely People

Written by dennis deyoung
Lead vocals by dennis deyoung
Hey , hey out there knock it off will ya?
Hey give it a rest will ya? Im tryin to get some sleep!
Want me to call the cops?
I tell ya erma I cant till next week when they start to tear that damn old theatre down.
The rain was hot, the streets were empty
As downtown closed her eyes
The movie house stood in silence as I said my last good-byes
Her silver screen was stained with memories
As cagney shot them down
And as I watched I was that hero
In dreamlands lost and found
Oh my god, well we both are empty paradise and me
Do you believe Im still chasing rainbows
When everywhere I see
Lonely people, lonely people
Up above these ghetto streets
In penthouse suites they sit and stare
Lonely people, lonely people
They smile and say theyre fine
But behind their eyes they just dont care
Lonely people
They just dont care
Lonely people, lonely people
Lonely people, lonely people
Beneath these neon streets in subway seats they crowd for air
Lonely people, lonely people
So close and yet so far they share the secrets of despair
Lonely people, lonely people (repeat and fade...)
