washes over your being
pushing over your mind

and the monsters come out
taunting you with your fears
rocking your soul with pain

and time stops suddenly
and your trapped
in a never ending struggle

when the world goes dark
and the pain floods you
your heart shatters again
your souls light put out

when the world goes dark
and your all alone
crying those bitter tears
that taste like sadness

when the world goes dark
and only the truth is left
the ugly reality comes forth
the real behind all the masks

when the world goes dark
and its just you and me
my true self with show
i have nothing left unknown
