The Mortuary Business

She took a sip of
the fluid of her husband's business,
that runs through the veins of
your ancestors and mine. The
glass dropped as
she fell to the floor, like
the autumn leaves falling
from an oak tree. You see,
her husband, behind the bars of
his greed, tried to monopolize his
business with a match. But saw instead,
the cremation of his life. Now,
he stands naked in the cold of
the night, as he buries the corpse of
his wife and business. His heart, now
broken, beats out a message
of his coming end. Now it's
his time to enter his wife's darkness.
