The Accountant
Dressed in black and white
Newly acquired three piece
He calls at his public office
His face is worn in grim
Suggesting ‘’matters of life and death”
He calls himself a CPA (K)
Beside him a black briefcase
“For important matters it is”
Hey sir, ‘Not ferrying public funds? ’
“Sir, what are you insinuating? ”
He asks.
For lack of evidence or anything to that effect
I tame my tongue
For fear of a defamation suit
I shrink
He turns and chooses his path
So holy he is
With words like, am saved, Jesus Christ, brother and sister’
He enchants and pacifies your heart
An ardent Christian he pontificates
‘Brother, I hear he has a grand coalition
Grand coalition with the brother from the High court’
So smart and majestic he is
Tomorrow the caption reads
‘Millions lost mysteriously’ or
The miraculous loss of public funds’
Sir, it can’t be him
So is ‘massacring me because of my tribe’ debate
Look you how he is
