Thank god for being there
Above me you are there
To look after my welfare
What ever comes my way
I will be happy and gay
Life has its ups and downs
It gives us smiles and frowns
I will travel life’s journey mile by mile
With faith in my heart and on my lips a smile
Because above me u are there
To look after my welfare
In this birth I will do my best
In your hands I will leave the rest
There is a karma cycle I guess
So in sorrow also I will find happiness
No one is completely happy on this earth
I will do my best for the next birth
Because above me you are there
To look after my welfare
What ever you give me in that I will make do
You have given me this life and you will see me through
You are my friend mentor and guide
By virtue truth and honesty I shall abide
I know your hand is on my head
So nothing I will ever dread
Because above me you are there
To look after my welfare.
