Shadows of the night
A shadow creeps
across my face
The moon shines
with such grace
It hides completely
those who wish
to fulfill the moon
and the shadows kiss
I walk across
with the moon
on my shoulder
it's gentle loom
Empty fields
paddocks, plains
none around me
all the same
The moon casts
it's empty glare
hoping it will
lead me there
Leading me,
a young youth
to the plain
unvarnished truth.
