La visita / The Visit

Alguien ha llamado a mi puerta desde el alba,
ha provocado el quejido de los goznes
parece que desea atraer cn su silvido
se va, regresa una y otra vez-

No quiero escucharlo
una balada llega del altillo,
mientras el continua imperturbable
con sus nudillos sobre la madera,
quiere dejar su marca,
colarse por las rendijas...

¿Quièn es?
Abro la puerta
y veo unas sandalias
gastadas por el tiempo....

Traslated to E nglish by Daniel Ginhson with comments by Sue Littleton:

Someone has knocked on my door
since dawn,
has provoked a moarning of hinges,
it seams that he want to atract
with his whistling.
He goes away an returns, once and again.

I don't want to listen to him.
A ballad is heard from th attic,
while he continues, heedless,
with his knucles against the wood.
He want to leave his mark,
squeeze through the chinks...

Who is he?
I open the door
and I see sandals
worn out by time...
