June Become December
And so May turned into June
One page falling gently
Against the other.
I’d seen her last in April
The legendary showers
Masking the tears.
We had parted as friends
I’d have rather been lovers
Until the end.
This new month, new sun
Held promise of her return
In summer, she said.
When things heat up
When passion’s high
I will be back.
The train’s come and gone.
My passion quelled
June, become December.
