Longed for
Begged for
Once treasured
Now a reminder
Of the pain
Of the past
Can it heal?
Or can it be
A reminder
Of love lost?
A constant reminder
Of the need
To put the knives away
To reach for the healing
Biting touch of honesty
From within myself.
