Politely Ignored Sensitive Issues
topics dangerous not boring
topics taboo change with time
topics modern 9/11 heated
topics old simmer fade off agenda
or erupt renew in hybrid forms
opinions are often cheque banked on
thus once also was the issue of slavery
some gained wealth through the chains
brutality inflicted upon unfortunate others
most politely ignored a sensitive issue
safety sitting upon their neutral fence
while a few enlightened minds risked
all in dreams of freedom
believing slavery to be wrong
prepared to pay freedom
financial blood or life cost.
The issues change faces
the risks still impale
victim sacrificed flesh.
Such is life
gross indifferent preach
without empathy
while sitting upon
neutrality fence
without a care.
