If I Had Only One Poem To Write
If I had only one poem to write
What would it be?
Gratitude to God?
Love of Family?
The dreams of Childhood?
Israel?
America?
The long morning and the longer night?
We are all so many poems
We struggle to find the true one-
Perhaps there is no way to be silent
And have only one poem about what we have been given.
