What She Said When I Said I Love Her

it was on the phone
long distance of long time ago
six years
when i called her and
told her
i still love her

(there was silence
and i guess she was covering the mouthpiece
with a handkerchief
and then she answered-

'who's this please? '

and i think i know what she meant.
i put down the phone
and rang another number

this one, perhaps still remembers...
