The Empty Cup, After...

honestly, it was not the tea
that pleased me

its odor and taste
after all those years
the tea finally bored me
there is no more joy in the sipping
no pleasure anymore
in the vapor

this is a little bit surprising
honestly, it is the emptiness of the cup
the hollow space
around its mouth
into its base
that depth of unfathomable silence

that in no end
pleases me,

amazed, i am intrigued
plagued
into the explanation of the burden
that it has passed
to the fingers of my hands.
