Out There, A Mishap

out there is a crowd of people
motorcars stop and the blinking of the ambulance
look like the eyes of a frightened child,

two motorbikes collide at top speed
two bodies lie bloody on the road
pictures are taken
no one touches the placement of the broken glass
the stains of blood on the leather seat

another mishap
another realization that death comes
when you least expect it

i lock the door of the car that i am driving
i swear i do not want to have any involvement in this
i take speed and dissolve in the dark distance.
