Love Lies
you called me
your destiny
knowing full well
you weren't free
and never would
break the ties
that binde you
to your head-strong
wife and mother
of your children
you chased after me
everywhere i went
you were there
speaking tender love lies
wanting me to believe
i was your favored one
when it was your wife
whom always came first
now, standing alone
so many years after
the day my heart
fell at your feet
i no longer grieve
over the fact
i was nothing more
to you than
a psychological trophy
sad but wiser now
i accept my destiny
