Despair and Love
Promises and lies
They all seem the same
One with a facade to disguise
The other hiding in plain sight
Neither hurt when are said
But when realized, they bring pain
Like a bullet shot through the knee
Which goes right by with glee
Even love can't cure the pain
Thrust into the soul by broken trust
Let alone make the person smile
It gives only but more reason, to make him cry
For, once when love loved him
He felt invincible. Now when love loves else
Despair feels but like a shadow
In things that are so much more bigger than him
The lies, they tear through his soul
Despair knows now nothing but sorrow
The smile given to him by hope which love lent
Now gone, only to land in someone else's hands
