Thanksgiving
Sitting outside in the darkness
Why is the only question I have
Looking around & it's just us
As I stare at you thru the glass
Watching you eat your meals
Living life so sweet
My stomach hungers for anything
Yet there isn't one bite to eat
It's cold outside
& we're helpless
But there's no way to stop it
all we have; are these bags
that we used to know as out closets
YOU let this happen to us
we didn't have a choice
I'm screaming on the inside
cuz I never had a voice
All I can do is watch you
Slowly, eat your meal
Then I stare at my brothers and sister
Cuz I know exactly how they feel
Homeless on the holidays
That's just the life we're given
Turkey on your table
but there isn't any Thanks given...
