Deprived
Ah, the sunlight caresses
Shimmering and flirtatious roses
While I’m here in the valley of dreams
Trembling like a leaf in a sensual breeze
To touch your necklace and feel your breath
Softly against the back of my hand.
I’ve never stopped loving you,
Too many poems have reconnoitered my heart
And revealed all my secret thoughts,
Any stranger can look into my eyes
And see you lingering in the shaded hues
Of my perpetual melancholy.
In some way, I’m happy today,
Deprived of you but not of my thoughts of you.
