My Father In Me
Fleeting look at my own reflection,
I caught a familiar sight
It seemed it were my father
with his whiskers grayish white
Chord it did touch,
a sort of a connection long since lost
Urging me to accept reality
and fittingly present accost
The void though insurmountable,
his absence will forever upset
The pangs of loss will linger on
till the end as cause of regret
With me nearly on a threshold,
of how I remember him last
I am but him in my own way,
not much different in contrast
Pride apart but privilege I deem,
to have come into this being
With his wisdom a guiding spirit,
for my welfare and wellbeing
