Taught and Never Misunderstood
My parents encouraged
My sisters and me
To be who we are.
To see our lives the way it was seen,
From our individual visions!
Without illusions...
Yet kept with dreams!
However...
That did not mean that we stopped
To fight amongst ourselves,
For things we did not produce!
Especially if they were providing the feast,
And we had yet to pay our dues!
They were unique,
In teaching us how to appreciate
Lives with free air...
And treats to eat without a dime invested!
That has been a sobering message.
Taught and never misunderstood!
