Knot Of Humans
The cloaked introduction failed
The kid-gloved smile fell
No longer the hero of my eyes
Wearing the cloth of the enemy
Is it wise?
On the prowl, to pounce on innocence
You sank your teeth into the flimsiest spot
That a few stitches wouldn't do
To cover a heart that's true.
Revive.
There are more important things in life.
Looming at all sides, is family-
mammalian in nature.
The knot of kith and kin.
The roar of the heart and soul.
Above the senses
That engulf you.
I wonder if they realise
That they are true as a feather, when they love
Seeing beyond red
Compassionate
Too late
It is first loves that matters
The special ribbon around your hair
When you were five, young and alive
The nifty train set when you were fine at nine
From counting blessings when you were a child
Soon you are happily all grown up
only to hold in remembrance
The bedrock of children.
Those filled with deep-rooted pain greater than the sweetest love
Have to look beyond the scars
Proudly worn
Kilted to human ties of love.
