No Sin, No Stone
A pin was dropped
The sound was heard
A hundred seconds ago
A charge was laid
And the stage was set
A woman in the very act
With a man she made no marriage pact
A gathering of mortals
Ears tuned to the great immortal
The concentration broken
As accused, accusers, and stones emerged
'The law is this, and broke she did'
He snubs and stoops
Each grain of sand whispers in one accord
'Our maker touches us'
He seemingly writes nothing on them
'The law is this, and broke she did'
They echoed in pissed symphony
'What says 'god'? '
With ache in throat and pain in heart
Eyes are raised from sand level to soul level
In one gaze piercing the conscience of all present
A phrase is uttered
'He that is without sin, please cast the first stone'
The sands danced again as his fingers played with them
A pin was dropped
And the sound heard
All but one who openly had sin
Stood in shock or awe or tears
As all who had no sin, suddenly now had sin
And faded into the thin evening air
Leaving her alone with him, who had no sin
Had no sin and yet not one stone
As tears washed her heart
He writes forgiveness for her
As his Father had written in the beginning
He wrote as the pin hit the ground
I love you deeply and forgive your sins
...and he with no sin, cast no stone.
