Why I do These Things
I primp before the mirror.
Make myself look as good as I'm able.
I wash my hair and then perfume
and slowly approach the table.
I watch what I eat to keep my figure
and take some time to pray
that maybe I can fool those that see me
and it will turn out an ordinary day.
I do these things and pretend to myself
that doing them might acheive
all the passion that I feel for him
which will help me to believe
that his heart I can always win.
For I do these things just for him.
