The Arrow
An arrow flew right through the air.
It flew from your eyes to my heart.
I felt the pierce but did not care
for I let the pain depart.
Only the pleasure from the eyes that sent it
was what I looked upon.
I knew I could withstand many arrows
until your eyes were gone.
Cupid, Cupid where have you been?
I didn't know you exist.
I thought you were just a fable
with a fictitious list.
But that list included me at last
and the arrow was so real.
I accepted it and praised it
for how it made me feel.
