Unsent Letter
I gaze at you across the room
With this girl you’re talking to.
You smile at her, she smiles at you
How I wish you’d look at me too.
For the thousandth time, my heart stops
On my cheek I feel teardrops come
For the millionth time, the pain cuts
Like a knife, slicing through my heart.
Don’t you remember what we once had?
Times when we were happy and glad
Now a long – forgotten ballad
T’was our song, then of love, now sad.
I’d give anything to relive
The past, when it was you and me.
If that’s possible in my dreams
I hope I fall into endless sleep.
Everything happened long ago
But until now I still don’t know
Why I have yet to let you go
I guess I still love you so.
