The Dark Knight
Out of the mist and darkness he comes
I smell the sweat
I hear the rattle of armor
The thunder of the horse hooves
The ring of the metal shoes on rock
I cannot see his eyes
His intent
There is only form
And sound
Louder and louder
There is no color
He reins hard to his left
Missing me by inches
The lather from the horse
Slaps across my face
The lance remains sheathed
I fear him
He will be back
I do not know the time
The place
He decides
He gives me not a glance
This time
