Our dance....our story.
First time I met you, all yellow and blue
You dared me to pronounce your name
All entangled with my tongue it fell out a mess;
the beginning had come.
Unknown to me or you the dance had begun
All fresh and fragile you held me, maybe too close
Guided my fearful steps to a song of your tune,
With each step peeling off layer after layer
To find the woman hidden inside my well mannered
“Too big a size” clothing.
Patiently out of my complexities you led
Me to a world of simple possibilities
Slow dancing you ignited my passion
Red and pepper hot I had found the master
To my flames, king to my imaginary queendom
With my Cinderella faith you were deemed
Prince charming and set at the throne of my existence
The curtain’s fallen, last bows taken
Lights out, the audience all gone
Only the echo of their applause remains
I stand naked on our stage ……
Tuneless, rythmless, passionless
Stale and broken ….in reality
Pieces of me all mangled …
I dare myself to forget your name.
