Inspired by bus poems
Today I sat on the bus
uncertain
trying to believe in myself
a boy of about 12-
about Andrees' age
my son's age-
hesitated
sat next to me
I wanted to put my arm around him
noticing the likeness of his brown hair
the similarity of his jacket
to the one Grammy Mary bought him
just a few months ago
I wanted to smile
hold his hand
I wanted to cry
instead I sat
remembering to breathe,
and appreciated his presence
quietly to myself.

Inspired by the following poem, part of Portland's poetry in motion series.
i believe in my self slowly
it takes all of the doubt i've got
it takes my worry.
