Heart of Afrıca
I flow with the Nile
The Niger and rest where the Congo river lies
I bleat, crock and moo
Bark with the dog, and I can even scare you
I play with the sun
Dance on the full moon till the early dawn
I bath on the sahara sands
The atlantic waters and watermellons of the fertile lands
I grow with udi hill
Sat on the kilimanjiro and the palmoil mill
I hunt with the leopard
Fly with the eagle and the rain forest is my lauching pad
I blow the horn of the Ethiopian penisula
Walked with early men, men older than Metusela
I witness the fall of Victoria
An event spoken of, from Cairo to Pretoria
I suck at golf, but I love the Guinea and the gulf
I mostly hit the mangrove, its' iroko tree is hard and tough
In the morning I sit and sing with the dove
Feast with the vultures that watch from above
And in the evening, I swim with the markerel fish
Go for a run with the Antelope and think of myself as rich
I am black and proud, a mark no detergent can bleach
For I am the heart of africa,
Where the colonial masters can never reach.
