Echoes In New York
Echoes in New York
In the vast concrete canyons
And Across the African plains,
Memories travel,
While wounded dinosaurs wail on lined asphalt.
Across the oceans, mountains and trees,
I remain standing firm,
Shadowed by your aged skin, frail bones,
Enduring spirit.
Eras and days may pass,
Perhaps my children I will bear,
Yet What you taught me,
Never shall fade.
You, petite in stature.
With a simplicity that is strikingly honest,
Yet so formidable were your
Lessons.
I walk the hills, valleys,
Fly across crowded skies.
Always coming back to the house of strength you built.
Sometimes falling
Sometimes wounded,
At times strong and independent.
We stand on the grounds which you showed how they should be tread.
Knowing the values of honesty, integrity, perseverance,
Love Unfiltered.
Unabashed.
Giving unashamed.
Knowing your perseverance is a testament
Guiding your brood, sending us forward,
Always knowing your spirit
Lasts as the wisdom of how to stand this god forsaken
Time,
Where Fathers forget their children,
Where gold is not only a color.
